Chapter 4
Guess what? I have a computer back! Woo hoo! Anyway, I'm back to torturing Ryan. Sometimes a girl just has to do what a girl has to do....Oh, I own nobody or anything worthwhile.
Warnings: Same as before. This one might not be too bad. I'll try and warn you when it gets rough. Trust me...it's coming up.
Theoanna: Wow! You reviewed again. Thanks so much. I hope you continue to like the story.
TsWelling78: I guess I explained why I couldn't update until now. Sorry, but I'll try and make up for it. I'm really glad that I moved someone to tears. I read so many fics on here and I really like it when things get emotional. Yes, I'm thinking Simon and Ryan are definitely going to have to get together, but I'm not even close to done with putting Ryan through some rough stuff. I became aware of a human traficking(sp?) ring in South America and the Carribean Islands and wanted to write some things up on that. I'm going to try to stay as factual as I can so that maybe people will realize that even though this particular story is fiction that it happens and is happening right now. Oops. I got up on my soapbox again. Anyway, please let me know if you still like this story as it progresses and thank you so much for the review.
kwlguy: I am going on with the story now. Thank you for the review and I hope you continue to enjoy the fic.
Simon walked into the room that Randy and Paula were sharing and just stood there. Paula walked out of her room and was about to lecture him on the art of knocking when she saw his face. "Whoa...what's going on?"
Simon walked over to her and just pulled her into a hug. He felt that his emotions were starting to get the best of him and was grateful when Randy walked in as well. "Uh...you want me to leave you two alone?" He laughed, but then stopped when he saw the terrified look on Paula's face. "What's going on here?"
Simon stepped away from Paula and shook his head. "I honestly don't know." He went over to the couch and sat down. "Everything just changed and I'm not sure how to handle it. You know...it's like my entire life just shifted. How do you go on after something like that?"
Paula exchanged a worried look with Randy and sat down next to her friend. "Something like what, Simon?"
Randy sat down nearby and just watched the two talk, not knowing exactly what to say.
"Ryan confided in me. I'm not sure if I should share, but..." He shrugged helplessly.
"We all love him. Randy and I aren't going to push you to tell us, but you know that we won't betray him."
Simon nodded. "I can't handle this alone so I really don't have a choice." He stood as if looking for something and then sat right back down. It was as if he couldn't find a way to be comfortable. He didn't know if he'd ever feel comfortable again. "Ryan doesn't have a family."
Randy immediately laughed nervously. "Don't be crazy. Everyone has a family. I mean...oh, did they pass away?"
"No, but I'm hoping that they will soon."
Paula gasped. "Simon! That's pretty...well, I'd say rude, but well...um...do I want to know why you feel that way?"
Simon nodded and then told the two everything that Ryan had told him, including the part about liking men. He never looked at them while he spoke and didn't think he could now that he was ready to admit something personal to them. He told them of his preferences for men and how he had wanted to pursue a relationship with Ryan. "I can't do that now."
Paula and Randy just sat there shell-shocked. Paula found her voice first and immediately attacked the current problem. "Why the hell not?"
Randy and Simon both looked up in shock and Simon was at a loss for words for a moment. "Paula...he's been molested!"
"Yeah...years ago."
"You didn't see him. He's still very traumatized."
"How exactly is he supposed to get over that without some help? Be there for him. Talk to him. Eventually he'll open up and maybe the two of you can explore a relationship."
Randy stood up. "Are you serious? You understand what we're talking about here, right? I mean...a relationship..."
Paula frowned. "You're not a homophobe, are you? If you are then I need to give myself a moment to deal with how much respect I've lost for you in such a short amount of time."
Randy held his hands up in supplication. "No no no...C'mon...you know the business we're in. I see it all the time. I'm fine with it. I'm more worried about Ryan and how he's going to react. This has been going on since he was a kid so I'm willing to bet that he's never been intimate with a man. I love you, dawg, but I don't know if you meet my standards for the guy that's going to take Ryan's virginity. That's precious shit you're talking about."
Paula looked down at her hands and nodded. "You're right. I hadn't thought about that. Not just anybody can handle this."
Simon stood up and looked at his friends with a mixture of confusion, anger, and amusement. "Excuse me! I'm right here! Bloody hell...I'm not talking about deflowering him and taking off. I love him!"
Paula stared at him. "You love him?"
Simon slapped his hand to his face and sat once more. "Yes, dammit...I love him. I've loved him for a long time. He's funny and sweet and he's got an innocence about him that...Hell, I don't know. He's not like the other people in this business. He's strong, too. Stronger than any of us. He doesn't need the fame. He just deals with it."
Randy looked out the window and smirked. "Damn...that was almost beautiful. I didn't know you had it in you."
Simon shrugged. "I didn't either. What am I going to do? He's resting right now. I don't want to push him."
"Do what I told you to do earlier. Go be there for him."
"Paula, what if he doesn't want me to be?"
"He does. He's shown that already."
Simon rubbed his temples. "Later maybe. For now let's try to get him cheered up. I'll go relax by the pool and then go back to get him for dinner. What are you two doing?"
Paula stretched out her legs. "Not the pool. I think I'm going to check out that spa. A sauna sounds heavenly right now. What time is dinner?"
Randy looked at their information on their end table. "Um...7:00 p.m. by the looks of it. We've still got a few hours. I'm going to check out the entertainment. There's a comedian in the bar in half an hour."
Simon nodded. "Alright. I'll meet you here at 6:30 after getting Ryan. Don't let him know-"
"Not a word, man." Randy smiled and headed out.
Paula smiled and took Simon's hand. "Try and chill for the afternoon. Ryan will need you to be strong, okay?" She grabbed a few things and walked Simon out.
Simon went to his room and noticed the closed door on one of the bedrooms. He went into his and changed to a suit before heading up to the pool. He knew that he had a lot to think about so he didn't mess anything up.

A/N - I know it's short, but more is coming soon I hope.
