Disclaimer: I own nothing but Aussie
Aussie walked into school the next day, wearing a white fluttery mini-skirt and a skin tight pink sweater with knee high pink socks and her hair in two french braids. She had decided that morning that she needed to show Gerard she wasnt his. She was Aussie. Not Gerard's Aussie. So she figured the best way to do that would be to get a boyfriend... and fast. So, as she walked through the halls she was very pleased to feel some guy's eyes following her. She wasn't pleased however when she saw one pair of them were Gerard's.
He had cornered her on her way to class, gently guiding her by her elbow over to an alcove in a deserted hall. Aussie was scared. He was being so gentle, it was like the first night she had met him. 'Then what was up at his house?' she thought, turning to face him.
"We need to have a serious talk." he looked frustrated, and Aussie couldn't help but notice how a few strands of black hair fell in his face before he ran his hand back through his hair, letting out a sigh.
"Are you bipolar?" she asked, very seriously.
Gerard just stared at her a second before answering. "Are you a fucking slut?" his voice wasn't loud, but his carefree tone seemded harsh in her ears. "You left this at my house." He said handing her her jacket. "You must have forgotten while you were moaning." Aussie flushed and dropped her chin to her chest, still mortified. "Look, I know you want me, I could see it when I watched you leave my house..."
"No, you must have seen my disgust, wanting someone and hateing them must look a lot alike."
"Theres a very thin line between them" he said as he got close to her face then pulled back, spinning on his heel to head off for class.
"Bastard." she mummured.
Aussie learned several things very quickly over the next few days. One was that whatever Gerard was, he wasn't consistent. Sometimes she could feel his eyes boreing holes in the back of her ass and other times he looked past her as though she was just a face in the crowd. She didn't know which she hated more. Aussie hadn't given up on finding a boyfriend. She had in fact, been making up excuses to run into Gerard's little brother, who she found out was Mikey, so she could talk to him. She of course didn't let Gerard see this. It seemed like an eternity passed before Gerard spoke to her again and their meeting wasn't quite how she would have imagined it. Gerard was good. Hell, he was the best she'd ever met. He was just standing there oytside of the school, leaning against a wall and smoking. "Those will kill you when your thirty." she snorted, leaning back against the wall beside him. He arched an eyebrow at her and took another puff.
"Couldn't get enough of me could you?" he asked slightly mocking, looking out into the front parking lot of the school.
"Lung cancer doesn't work quick enough for some." she jabbed, turning and giving him a level stare. He turned and stared back, sending thrills up her spine. 'He's always calmest when he's smoking she thought randomly, stepping closer to him without realizing it. She wasn't sure what she was doing but she slipped her arms around the back of him and found herself giving him a hug, letting her head rest on his shoulder. He stood frozen for a minute before asking her,
"What are you doing?"
"I'm giving you a hug, stupid."
"Why?"
"Because, I wanted to see what it would feel like."
"How does it feel?"
"Like your hands are on my ass." Aussie pulled back and crossed her arms. "Do you want me or not? Because I'm getting mixed signals here."
"Can't it be a bit of both? Can't I want you and not want you at the same time."
"You can but it won't get you very far." Aussie stood waiting as Gerard casually smoked his cigarette.
"Go home Aussie, you look exhausted." Gerard threw his cigarette on the ground and stamped it out before turning and heading to his car, leaving Aussie more frustrated than she had been to begin with.
