This is not good...
Disclaimer: no own, no money, no happen. The poem’s mine though. And I own Dr. White…
Note: I decided not to go into medical details there, it’s not that important.
This is not good...
Around 11 am Billie decided to go to his house to pick up some stuff. Mike wouldn’t be at home, so it was safe to go now. Billie decided to take a walk and clear his dead a little bit. He walked and thought:
What the hell am I gonna do now? I can’t be alone, I just can’t. I need Mike. He’s my light, my soul.
He walked staring at his feet as if he was scared to stumble over something unexpected.
He should be happy, he deserves it. He did not betray me. He was faithful and honest. It’s not his fault that he fell in love with Tre. Love’s no one’s sex slave – it doesn’t ask for permission to come. It just comes.
He kept walking without even looking – he knew the road so well he didn’t have to think of the route. He began crossing the road without looking at the traffic lights – there were rarely any cars around here.
Alone again, I close my eyes and walk,
Today I’ll cry when someone else is happy.
You closed the door – you didn’t see me fall,
And something scary is about to happen…
A loud piercing noise knocked Billie out of his thoughts. He raised his eyes, but it was too late – a gray Mazda was flying at him at 60 mph. This is not good flashed through his mind. Everything went dark.
“His life is in no danger now” Dr. White informed Adie on her best friend’s current state.
“Is he gonna be okay? Is everything fine with him?” Adie didn’t realize she was shaking. She drove to the hospital right after getting the call, nearly hitting a few people along the way.
“Miss Nesser, please, take a sit” The doctor motioned Adrienne to a wooden bench “I’m afraid I have some bad news”
This is not good…
“There was some major damage caused to the spine” The doctor went on “I’m afraid Mr. Armstrong will be paralyzed from waist down”
No matter how carefully the doctor presented the news to Adie, nothing could really make this less shocking than it was. Billie can’t walk…Silent tears were falling from Adie’s eyes, down her cheeks and neck. She couldn’t make a sound, her voice froze deep inside her throat.
The doctor walked off after noticing that 2 men were asking about Billie at the reception. Mike and Tre arrived – Adie had given them a call from the car on her way to the hospital. The doctor walked over to them, but Adie didn’t pay attention to their conversation. She felt her vision go blurry, she felt dizzy and collapsed.
When the doctor brought her back to consciousness, she gave him a heart-breaking look:
“Dr. White…”
“Yes”
“Will he ever be able to walk?”
