Chapter Three

"These colors are all wrong," Alex said, throwing samples of colors for Shirts on her desk, almost yelling into the phone, "The green looks like vomit. Mind you yes, fits the character, but it wasn't what I asked for." She looked out her office windows with a sigh, listening to the excuses being made on the other line. She was tired and hungry and just wanted to go home but it would be a long day in the office. Somewhere down the hall she knew Stephanie was probably doing the same thing with Creative over some thing or another but it didn't make her feel any better than nothing was going right that day.

"Mooooooooommy!," she heard down the hall, mixed with hard steps made by little shoes. Amy busted through her doors with a quick "Hi!" to Marcus, Alexis' secretary. Behind her entered Paul who had picked her up from school as a favor to Alex. Amy pulled off her backpack, throwing it towards a sofa in Alex's office and threw her tiny arms around her mother's leg. "School was so fucking dumb!"

Alex almost choked she began to laugh so hard, picking her daughter up with one arm. "Shhhh," she said to Amy, turning her attention back to the phone. "Look, it's 2 p.m. You have until 7 p.m. to fix this. And I know that means overtime. Guess what. We ALL are working overtime because of your mistake. So fix it." She hung up, throwing the phone on her desk. "Okay Paul, you told her to say that right?"

Paul laughed, placing a hand on her arm, kissing her check and then rubbing Amy's back. "Maybe. Want me to take her to your parent's?"

"Please? Long day today and I have a... dinner."

Amy had now had enough of trying to hug her mother's neck to death and had wiggled her way down, heading to Alex's desk i search of paper to scribble on with the GOOD pens. "Dinner? With who?," he asked, pulling a chair to sit on.

Alex blushed a bit, sitting on her desk in front of him. "Promise you won't go blabbing to Steph or Shane or Dad for that matter?"

"It's a wrestler isn't it?"

Alex laughed, crossing her legs. In a skirt suit, her legs looked amazing Paul thought to himself, instantly banishing the thought from his mind. "Kurt."

Paul laughed again, leaning back in the chair. "Kurt asked you to dinner?!"

"Well he's BEEN asking. I kept saying no and he kept insisting."

"Why did you keep saying no?"

That was a question she couldn't exactly explain. He knew what her honest answer would be. She'd been pulling away from ANYONE who was attracted to her in anyway. She was blind to Paul's attraction because it was veiled with his love for her as a friend. But as for anyone else, there had been no dating and so this was a little odd for her to even admit. She WAS attracted to Kurt, that was not a question, but she wasn't quite sure she was ready for that night and Paul could see it on her face. "You'll be fine you know. It's okay to let go Alex." She knew what he meant by that.

"Hard to let go with a little face like that." She pointed back at the 3, going on 4 year old sitting at the desk, ignoring their conversation. She saw Dwayne, every time she looked at Amy.

"Well try not to be home too late or your dad will be asking questions and sure enough they'll be asking me and I can't lie to your dad kid."

"Stop calling me kid will you?"

Paul laughed, standing up. "Dwayne's here by the way."

Alex's eyes shot wide open at those words. "Excuse me? What the hell for?"

He shrugged, turning towards the windows, Alex following. "Your dad mentioned it earlier, guess he came by to talk with your dad since he didn't renew his contract and what this means and all. I haven't seen him, I just heard the receptionist downstairs telling someone he was in the building. I wouldn't worry about it though, he knows where you've been all this time, why would he come find you now?" Paul was right about that. In three years Dwayne hadn't called, not even after Vince's announcement that he was a grandfather. The very few times Alexis had been to a show he'd never come to see her nor had there been a instance where they would have run into each other.

"I just wish you would have told me. So...."

But as they turned back to the window the desk they didn't see Amy sitting there and Alexis automatically knew where to go and look for her.

~~~~
"Daddy is Amy here?"
She opened Vince's office door to find not only Vince sitting there behind his desk but Amy sitting on Dwayne's lap, giggling her little brains out.
"Mommy you and Uncle Paul are booooooring."
Alexis was too daze to speak, mouth open with lack of words. Paul pushed her forward as he spoke, "Hey Vince, taking Amy to Linda back home. Be seeing you tonight at Dinner."
"Sure thing Paul. Make sure Stephanie isn't late hm?"
"No problem. Alexis?"
"Oh yeah," she said, shaking her head as she snapped out of the trance Dwayne had caused with his smile. She could only imagine what was going on in his mind.
Dwayne had seen pictures through Shane and Vince and other wrestlers. Paul had never told Alex that he had given Dwayne a year before a picture of Alex and Amy he had in his wallet along with some of Steph and Shane and Melissa with their boys. That had been closest Paul and Dwayne had come to discussing it, Paul had simply walked into Dwayne's dressing room, placed the picture on the table, and walked out. But he had felt his heart race Amy had run in, arms wide open, yelling for her grandfather. To have Vince introduce him to his own daughter was odd enough. But when the little girl had slid into his arms asking all kinds of questions ("Why haven't I met YOU before?") he could see all the details he'd notice from his only picture of his daughter. Her smile was his mixed with Alexis'. Her eyes were his. Her nose was like his mothers. She had Alex's hair. He carefree giggle. Her skintone. But the icing on the cake was to look up and see the one person he'd been dying to see for so long.
She was more beautiful now and it was taking everything in his being to not get up and kiss her, to feel her close to him again. He could see her breathing increase the second she had seen him, to nervous to say a word.
"Amy, time to goooooo."
"No."
"Good they taught you how to rhyme, I was wondering why I pay so much money for you to go somewhere and learn 26 letters. Shoo, go with your Uncle."
Amy pulled herself out of Dwayne's arms, running around the desk to quickly hug Vince before running out of the room. Paul followed her and as Alex tried to followed him Vince called out to her. She curse her failed escape and walked back into her father's office. "How did the design team do?"
"I'll be here until 7 tonight. That's how they did. Logos for Mick's reel came back okay and Steph and Shane and I decided we like them, they'll be on your desk in the morning. That all?"
Vince raised a eyebrow to his daughters uncharacteristic shortness. "Feeling okay?" Alexis automatically got that Vince could tell she wasn't and did her best to pull herself together.
"Fine Daddy, just a bit pooped. I'll miss dinner tonight okay?"
She quickly left the room, pretending to ignore her father's question "Why?"
~~~~

Alex stood in front of her windows again, trying to erase her brain of Dwayne when she heard someone walk into her office and close the door behind them. She could see his reflection in the window, walking towards her slowly. "Are you going to turn around?," he asked as soon as he had gotten close, close enough to pull her into his arms.

"Go away."

"I've always known about her being mine Alex."

"I know that Dwayne, I'm not stupid."

"Does your Dad know?"

"No," she said, wrapping her arms around herself. She could smell him he was close to her. It was driving her insane how badly she suddenly wanted him.

"You were going to tell me that day weren't you?," Dwayne asked, having wanted to ask her for so long.

"Yeah, and you stopped me." She could feel tears swelling in her eyes and falling down her cheeks.

"I'm so sorry," Dwayne said, choking on his words.

"Dwayne just let it go. We don't need you, we're fine. I'm fine. I can deal now. So go."

"You can't keep her away from me forever."

And with those words came the first time Alex had considered that someday Amy would want to know who her father was. A panic grew inside her. She swung around to find him almost against her. "This was your choice Dwayne, deal with it now."

The anger in her voice made his insides fire up and as she went to move he stopped her, pushing her back against the window with his body. She could feel his heart racing against hers then, his hands sliding to her back. He'd dreamed of a moment he could have with her like this, woken up in sweats from dreams of her body. He'd released himself, imagining her lips around his member. And now he had her there. "Dwayne stop it... please...," she was begging as he continued hold her that way. His eyes were burning holes into her. Then, without warning, his lips found hers. She could feel her insides melt, causing a wetness she'd ignore for so long. His hands had pulled her dress shirt out of her skirt and began exploring her bare skin. He was leading her towards her desk, sliding his hands from under her shirt to her bottom, lifting her up to sit on the desk. Their kisses were passionate, as if seeking air to breathe. He'd hitched her skirt past her thighs, with one hand attempting to undo his belt and fly, with the other keeping her where he wanted her, on the desk. She would try every little while to escape him as her senses would return but the second his lips touched hers again, she'd fall again. When he was done releasing himself from her pants, he'd began to undo her shirt. To his pleasure, her hands began undoing his shirt as well. He managed to pull her chest to his after getting her bra off and with that came the want again. He wasn't going to be able to wait much longer he thought, pulling her thong to the side as he positioned himself to enter her. He pulled his lips away from hers long enough to look into her eyes. There was a mix of excitement and fear in her eyes. He didn't warn her, instead sliding into her body.

She groaned, letting her head fall back. Her breathing grew again as he pulled out and pushed back into her, this time with more force. He began to speed up, holding onto her hips as he pumped into her body over and over again. Her mouth was biting his chest, her hands holding onto his side as her nails dug into his skin. "God Alex," he almost yelled as he got faster. He could feel the cum building, the release coming soon. He raised a hand to her face, cupping a cheek, forcing her to look into his eyes. "Cum for me," he said pumping as hard as he could. It didn't take long and he didn't need a warning, feeling the walls around his cock shake. He couldn't hold on at that point, releasing himself into her body.

~~~~
She was pulling herself together, trying her best not to look at him. He sat there on the sofa, trying to get her to stop.
"Alex please don't do this to me. I've waited...."
"This isn't going to happen again Dwayne."
"I...."
She looked at him, tears sliding down her bright red cheeks. "It hurts okay? I can't do this Dwayne. We've had our closure. Leave it at this. Please."
"Closure?!," he said, raising his voice, "This is far from closure. Alex you can't pretend this didn't just happen."
"I have a date with Kurt later damn it Dwayne. I have a life. One that doesn't involve you."
The second he heard her say she was going on a date with Kurt a jealously brewed inside him. "Call off that date. Now."
"No!," she said, sitting down at her desk, pulling papers towards her. "You don't get to keep me as a pet. You have a life without me in it. A wife and a daughter remember? Go home to them Dwayne." It was killing her to say that, wanting nothing more than for him to stay.
"We can't ignore this. Amy. Alex I want to be part of her life. She needs me and I need her."
"You have a daughter Dwayne."
"I love you."
Those words fueled her fire, causing her to look up into his eyes. "Will you leave Dany?"
He couldn't answer.
After some silence he left the room, defeated and revived all at once.
~~~~

"Shit. Shit shit shit."

Alex was rushing towards her car, heading home to quickly shower before going to the restaurant she had agreed to meet Kurt at. She had had no time to sit and think, keeping herself busy with various things. But now, in the quiet of the car, it was time to take it all in. She'd fucked up. No, not just fucked up, but FUCKED up. She never imagined herself doing something like that but she had. So again, yet another burden she'd have to carry.

Her phone began to ring from deep inside her purse and she reached in, trying to find it. When her fingers finally felt the vibrating she slid it out, answering with a rushed tone, "Hello?"

"Alex? You sound cranky."

"Oh. Sorry Dave." Paul's best friend was Dave Batista. He was also Alex's friend and she assumed that Paul had already mentioned to Dave she had a date, hence the out of the blue call. "Paul has a big mouth you know? I can keep him from telling my family anything but he'll sure as hell run off to tell you everything."

Dave, back home on his porch laughed, lying back on a hammock outside. He played dumb, "What? I have no idea what you're talking about...."

"Psh, shut up. Look, spit your thoughts out now, this is your last chance."

"Kurt?! Really?! Look beautiful, he's not for you. Trust us." Dave failed to mentioned he'd was jealous, knowing full well his wife was probably inside with a window open, trying to listen to his call for a reason to fight with him. "Please just don't get carried away with this guy."

"Dave the protective thing is cute and all but he's REALLY a nice guy. Just because you and Paul happen to not like him much doesn't mean...."

Dave made a small noise, rolling his eyes she was sure, "It's not that we don't LIKE him," he lied, "It's that... he's not good enough for you." He was sure her cheeks had turned the cute red shade they did when she was embarrassed. He'd give an arm and a leg to see her do it at that second as he heard the banging inside. Dave was sure this was about the time he'd have to end his conversation with her. "You'll be at Monday's taping I heard. Finally going on the road with us?"

"Yeah, Dad's been bugging for me to finally do it and be on TV and all. Amy is ready to spend more time without me. Mom will have her well taken care of. I'll see you then Dave, I have to shower before I go to the restaurant. How's everything there by the way?"

As the banging inside continued he sighed, getting up, "Assume the worst. I'm not going to take this much longer Alex. Well... try not to have too much fun okay? It'll kill me to know you are."

The tone he had used to say that was different that the one he'd used the whole conversation, surprising her. "Um... okay. Love ya Dave."

"Same here." He sighed as he hung up the cell, ready to head into the chaos.

~~~~
"Kurt! I'm soooooo sorry." She said as she entered the restaurant.
"Not late yet. Still waiting for a table. You look...," He'd stopped to admire her with a wide smile reaching out for her hand. "You look amazing." She looked down fidgeting a little, not quite sure what to do. She'd never been on a REAL date so this was all a little awkward for her.
"Thanks Kurt."
~~~~

"How was work?"

"Oh... work. A bunch of stuff went wrong today." She played with a piece a lettuce with her fork, looking up with a smile.

"Well soon you'll be on the road again with all of us. Excited?"

She shook her head, looking back down at her plate. "Maybe. I'm no sure. Last time I was on the road... was interesting. I don't know what to expect this time. Plus... there's Amy."

"Does she know?"

Alexis sighed, looking up to Kurt's face. "Sort of. She thinks she's coming too. When I said I was going on a trip she assumed it was a vacation we'd both go on. Steph and I tried to explain it wasn't a vacation but the word trip means Disney World or something to her. I keep thinking I might just leave and not explain, let Mom do the explaining but that wouldn't work either. I'll get around to it. Eventually. Maybe Shane should tell her. He's done it before."

Kurt laughed, reaching out for her hand across the table. "I'm sure it'll all be fine. Not like it'll be forever. You'll be home alot."

Still, the idea of leaving Amy alone for the first time since she'd been born was a torture. She was her joy since giving birth to her and there wasn't a night Amy would leave her bed for Alex's in the mornings. Just that morning she'd woken to cold toes on her legs and a smooch. She'd miss that, far away from her in a strange city.

The night continued. With each minute, Alex felt more at ease, opening up to Kurt about everything... well almost.

~~~~
"And this is MY place," she said with a smile, opening the door to her home. She'd gotten her own home, not far from her parents and siblings. It was big, warm, and perfect. It'd been a graduation present from Vince and Linda, their way of slowly letting her go. Of course, not too far from her grasp. They were all too close to be far from each other for long. But far enough to be a sign for Alex to move forward. She took Kurt's coat, hanging it up. "Amy isn't here, Mom and Dad have her, I'll pick her up a little later. Coffee?"
Kurt smiled, locking the door behind him and following her through house towards the kitchen. He'd found her beautiful the second he'd seen her in her office. If there was one thing he knew, he knew she was as great as a woman could get. Especially in the WWE. He'd tried for ages to get her to agree to go out on a date with him and finally she'd given in. If he didn't try now, he'd be a fool, he thought.
"Now THIS is a kitchen," he said as he studied the room.
"Haha, Dad knew I'd want this the most in a house. The biggest kitchen possible. Sit down."
He sat looking over at the fridge as she pulled out a bottle of creamer and a bottle of soy milk before heading to the coffee pot and rummaging through cabinets. Pictures drawn by Amy covered the fridge and he laughed at the various puppies and kitties. She turned to see why he was laughing, "Oh." She smiled at the fridge and went back to making coffee, "Amy wants a pet. That's her subliminal way of telling me."
"Gotcha," he watched her back, the way she curved her body and she swayed side to side as she spoke. He got up, coming around the island in the kitchen to her side. Her back was still to him as she spoke. When he had reached her he pressed himself behind her, causing her to loose her breath a little. His lips were near her ear as he spoke, placing a hand on her hip as he pulled the hair away from her neck with the other. "Why did you hesitate to go out with me tonight Alex?"
Her insides melted just a little as a fire began to brew inside her. She wasn't used to this. What was worse was that she began to feel guilty after what had happened earlier in her office. But it wasn't enough for her to want the feeling to stop as Kurt's hand grabbed onto her hip tightly. She could barely speak as she answered, "Playing hard to get?" She felt different inside, unlike herself. His low laugh into her neck caused her to make a small sound, pressing herself back against him. She could feel that he'd began to harden. He was teasing her after a while, kissing her neck, pulling softly on her hair. Finally she felt his lips press against hers. With passionate kisses he pressed her against the counter, causing her body to bend forward. She couldn't help herself as she reached behind her, unbuckling his belt and unzipping his pants to pull his now rock hard erection out of his pants. She felt him take a deep breath into her neck as he pulled up her dress, sliding her g-string down her legs. He bent her over some more, sliding his fingers between her legs, rubbing her clit softly. She was surprised by her sudden sexual need. It wasn't like her, in fact that afternoon with Dwayne had been the first time anything was inside her that wasn't run on batteries.
"Say you want it," he groaned into her ear.
Alex allowed herself to answer in a low, lusty voice, "Kurt please. I want it."
He pushed into her wetness, making her cry out just a little. His grasp on her hips tightened. As he slid in and out of her body, her mind raced. One person was on her mind, not Kurt. A little guilt grew inside her again, trying her best, she pushed Dwayne out of her mind. Kurt was the second man she'd ever been with and it wasn't anything to complain about. She was moaning, pushing into him as he pushed into her. He felt himself shaking, coming close to releasing himself into her body. She was groaning when he felt it. Her pussy tightened around him, her skin grew hot. "God... Kurt...." She was cumming, reaching to his hands on her hips, nails digging into his palms. His release followed, pushing up into her, pressing her roughly against the kitchen counter.
~~~~

After one more time in the bedroom, a goodbye, and a shower, she headed over to her parent's home. She was tired but she wanted to see Amy. She had keys and planned to slip into the mansion, wake her up, leave a note, and take her home. She turned off her headlights as she drove into the driveway. She suddenly felt like a highschooler again, sneaking back in late at night.

She closed the door slowly behind her as she tucked her hair behind her ear. As she headed towards the stairs she heard someone clear their throat. She turned her attention to her dad's study finding her dad sitting on a sofa in the office. "Come on in Bean," he called out.

Alex slowly walked in, closing the door behind her. "Hey Daddy. I'm sorry. Just coming to take Amy home."

"Yeah, about Amy. So imagine my surprise when I realize just HOW much she looks like Dwayne...."

Alex felt her heart race and her palms grow sweaty. She felt like a teenage for SURE at this moment, feeling tears grow in her eyes. "Daddy...."

"You could have told me Bean. Not wait for me to realize it. When? How?"

She began to sob, rubbing her eyes on her long sleeves. Vince took a pillow and placed it on his lap and patted it. Alex didn't hesitate to sit next to her father and lay her head on the pillow, still sobbing. "You tell Mommy?"

"Answer my questions first kiddo."

She began to sob again, "When I was 18 he had been seperated from Dany and then we were having a relationship but he was still married to her. They were supposed to be divorcing until he found out she was pregnant."

"Did he know?"

"That I was too? No. He didn't."

"Does he know now?"

"He could tell who she looks like too Daddy.... I'm so so so sorry...."

"Shhhh," he quieted her. Rubbing her hair softly. "It's okay. Alex you should have confided in us."
"So you could kill him?," she laughed a little through her tears, sitting up. "No way. Daddy please don't...."

Vince sighed, cleaning off her face. "True. But... let's talk about it tomorrow hmm? Sleep upstairs with Amy. We left her in your old bedroom."

"We?"

Vince smiled, "Your Mom wasn't too happy you didn't tell her either. She's been studying pictures of you three all night looking for similarities."

~~~~
Alex pulled herself into bed with Amy, pulling her daughter close. After everything, being in bed with her angel was heaven. She had thought sleeping would be too hard for her that night but she quickly passed out, feeling Amy's arms wrap around her neck.
