Do you remember the promise you make that day
boku wa zutto...~

"Life is back to normal, ne, Hiro-chan?" Kazuki said in a strange calm voice. He elbowed the drummer to get his attention.
Hiro looked up from his drumstick bag. He was still trying to see what pair he was going to use. "What do you mean, Kazuki?" He instantly regretted it as soon as he saw Kazuki's face. It held a smile that said that in no way did the owner feel like doing so.
"I think perhaps you did your job too well."
"N-Nanda?"
"Nanda?" Kazuki stared at him (making his eyes even bigger than normal) and grabbed Hiro's arm, roughly.
"Itai!"
He dragged Hiro throughohe dhe dressing room theaggeagged him through the backstage area, in and out of Dir en Grey's dressing room (with everyone staring) and in and out of Janne Da Arc's dressing room and out onto the stage, while saying, "Tell me, Hiro, what have you done with him? What did you do to him? He's gone back to his normal behavior!! Meaning....where the hell is he?"
Hiro pulled his arm away from his crazy leader, "I don't know!! He was right there, hovering by my shoulder the last time I saw him!! You don't expect me to keep track of him everywhere he goes, do you? He probably went to the bathroom! It's bad enough we share a hotel room now, you want me to watch him go to the bathroom!! We're not girls, we do not need to go in groups to the toilet!!"
Kazuki snorted and tossed his head, "You were the one who said that he didn't mind sharing a room with Yuki!! What was the words after that--'I think I'm becoming attached to him'?"
Hiro looked away from Kazuki before his eyes could give him away. "Yes...but Kazuki--I can't keep track of him all the time! He's going to think I'm a stalker! I think he's getting a little annoyed with me."
Kazuki threw his hands up in the air and walked back to the dressing room with Hiro in tow, trying to explain. Kazuki cut him off, "I said to take care of him for a couple of days!! Not mother him so that he runs away!!"
"You said you had no problem with it!!"
"I don't but--" Kazuki stopped and pulled Hiro into the dressing room, shutting the door behind him as well as lowering his voice. "Do you really think I'm blind, Hiro? I know you're falling in love with him--"
"I am not!"
"Yes, you are! And I know it might break your heart to hear this but I don't think he needs that right now. If you let him know how you feel, he might say the same thing to you because he wants the comfort of someone close again and because he might feel sorry for you. And that's another thing I don't need. I don't need both of you breaking each other's hearts and then fighting and splitting this band up. We're above that remember? We're brothers, we're friends, we're a band! We've been through it all." Hiro stared into Kazuki's big brown eyes that pleaded with him to listen.
Hiro nodded. "Wakata...ano...Kazuki?"
"Hai?"
"If....if it happens. And...if he feels the same and I know he's not lying...then what?"
Kazuki chewed on his lipring and sighed. "Then there's nothing I can do about it, can I? I'll let you two go. There has never been any rules to love although we'd like to think so."
Hiro gave him a small smile. "Arigato, Kazuki." He went back to his drumstick bag as Kazuki sat heavily on the chair with another sigh.
"Dooitashimashite," the guitarist said in a sad weary tone.

Yuki was currently enjoying his time back at the hotel, having lunch in the restaurant and staring out the window. He had run away from Hiro and everybody else before they could notice. Why? Because he could and because he didn't feel up to facing anyone right now. He was tired of pretending that he was okay. He wasn't. He was over Sakito true, but there was a certain person in his hotel room that was appearing in his dreams and...
Before he could finish the thought, his cellphone rang.
He hesitated, stared at it nervously until he saw the number. It was a familiar one, meaning that it wasn't Kazuki on the pay phone wanting to yell at him. "Moshi moshi?"
"Konnichiwa, Yuki-kun!!!" came a voice that hadn't been heard in a long time. Yuki's face instantly broke out with a smile.
"Konnichiwa, Tomo-kun!!"
"Guess what, guess what, guess what?" The other man asked in a sing song voice. Yuki tried not to laugh. Obviously, Tomo was in a very good mood.
"What?"
"I am currently on the cellphone and I'm back in town and guess where I'm headed?"
"A mental hospital?" Yuki asked, through a laugh.
Tomo went on without taking offense, "Close!!" Yuki heard another man talking loudly on the cellphone, and some other noises through Tomo's side that sounded familiar. "I'm headed toward your table!!!"
"N-nani?"
"Hello!!" Tomo chirped in English, giving Yuki a start. Yuki looked up at him.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm in town, remember? What--you don't like seeing your best friend?"
"No, it's not that--it's...." Yuki paused, stared at Tomo and then stared at his phone. "Why the hell am I talking to you on the phone?"
Tomo shrugged and hung up as soon as Yuki did. "But--so..Konnichiwa!"
"When did you get in?" Yuki asked. Tomo fingered Yuki's strange pink hair and sat in the chair across from him.
"I arrived at Narita aiport about," Tomo looked at his watch, "11:00 am. Got here in a record 3 hours. How's life been?"
Yuki frowned, "Good and bad."
"The usual?"
"No, worse. Much worse."
"What happened?"
Yuki turned in his chair and tried to say as calmly as possible, "Sakito and I broke up."
Tomo's smile faded, "When? Just now?"
"Weeks ago."
"While you were still on tour?"
Yuki nodded.
"You mean he couldn't wait until later? How very inconsiderate!!" Tomo said angrily. "How did it happen?"
Yuki's fingers tightened around the glass of water as he remembered. "He was cheating on me with Miyabi, his guitarist. I didn't know this until I saw them in the hotel, kissing each other like that was the only way to live."
Tomo hissed as if he were in pain and gave yuki a sympathetic look. Yuki gave him a weak smile. "Damn...how did you get through it?"
Yuki smiled again but this time it was genuine. With Tomo he could be himself. He could be honest even when he was trying to lie to himself. He was understood and forgiven, no matter what the crime. "Oh...I had some help."
"Oh no. I know that look," Tomo smirked, knowingly and took Yuki's hand. "That's the pretty Yuki look. That look only comes when you've got a lovely secret that you're dying to tell someone in order to confirm the fact that you are not insane. That look comes when you're about to hunt down something--something you want."
Yuki stared at him, "Nani?"
"You've got a secret. Now tell me."
Yuki's smile widened and he tried not to blush. "Someone took care of me in my broken-hearted state. And he's still taking care of me."
"Dare?"My "My Hiro."
Tomo raised an eyebrow, "Your Hiro? Don't you think it's a little too soon?"
Yuki frowned and leaned back against the chair. "I know that's what I thought, too."
"Demo?"
"Demo...." Yuki gave a whimper and Tomo tilted his head curiously, "Demo...I like him. A lot. And I can't shake that feeling. He's beautiful, too. And gentle. And...there's been a lot of strange things happening that tells me we should be together. Like...we had the same anniversaries once and we broke up on the same days. And when he came to comfort me, it was midnight. Friday. And--there are other things." Yuki blushed again.
Tomo smiled, mischievously, "What other things?"
"Just...stupid things but the worse are the dreams."
"What dreams?"
Yuki fidgeted.
"Tell me, Yuki. You've made me curious."
Yuki fidgeted again, lowered his voice, closed his eyes and said in a rush, "Last night I had a dream that he was naked and undoing my shirt with his teeth." The memory of it was still overwhelming and it slid right to his groin. He shifted uncomfortably. "He was lying on top of me and he was so warm..and I could feel him." He said, opening his eyes and emphasizing the word him to mean that he meant something specific. "He's well endowed, you know. And when I woke up, I was alone in bed but I could still feel him. And that only happens when I know the other person's had the same dream."
Tomo stared at Yuki a little shocked but shook himself out of it. "I wish I had dreams like that."
"I wish my real life was like that."
"Me, too."
The two men laughed quietly. "Tomo-kun?"
"Hai?"
"I have a concert tonight."
"I know."
"Are you coming?"
"Well...I don't know."
Yuki pouted, "C'mon, you haven't seen me in ages. Plus, I could show you my Hiro."
"Fine. Ano..."
"Nani?"
"Does he know that he's your Hiro, yet?"
"No but he will."
"Sure of yourself, aren't you?"
"And why not? I have no competition. And he's in my band." Yuki smiled again. A different smile--a fierce determined one. "He's mine."
"He just doesn't know it yet."
"But he's mine. All mine. My Hiro," Yuki said, stubbornly.
Tomo laughed. "Okay, he's yours. I get it, I get it!!" He swept a hand through his dark perfect hair then looked at his watch. "Wait a minute. Hey, aren't you supposed to be at rehearsal now? Kazuki'll kill you if he find you're not there. And then you won't be able to show me your Hiro."
"Yeah, you're right. I'd better go so you can listen to me sing perfectly tonight!"
"Oh, God, no." The other man groaned.
"Shut up, Tomo," Yuki saidhe she stood and waved goodbye.

Yuki finished the last song to the set and as they walked back to their dressing room to relax before the big show, Hiro caught him. "You're lucky, you know." Hiro said, casually.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean you're lucky that you went through a very good rehearsal. If you didn't sing as well as you did this afternoon, Kazuki'd have jump down your throat by now."
"And who says I won't?" Kazuki asked and Yuki and Hiro froze. He moved into their view and flashed Yuki an enigmatic look. "You still owe me an explanation as to where you were. But that can wait." He said and left them.
Yuki smiled nervously.
"So, why did you perform so nicely?"
"What are you trying to say? That I don't always perform nice?"
Hiro shrugged, "Not when you're missing an entire afternoon and you know Kazuki'll have a cow. Are you going to tell me what's up?"
Yuki looked up at him and smiled the look that Tomo named the pretty Yuki look and said, "Iie."
"Why not?" Hiro looked stunned.
"You'd be jealous."
"Nani?"
Yuki looked up at Hiro once more and was confused to see the look on Hiro's face. "My best friend is in town and he's going to see me perform." He explained. He turned away before he could see the look of relief on Hiro's face.

Tomo marveled at the huge crowd that flowed around him as he made his way toward the stage. He wanted to be able to see Yuki and he wanted to be able to see Yuki's Hiro. He was going to make sure that this guy wasn't going to be like Sakito. "Yuki deserves more than that," Tomo muttered to himself. The crowd had an excited but hushed buzz to them, talking about the various bands and some of the cosplayers had that come in with the crowd. He smiled at all of them. They were talking about him, too. He was a rarity, he knew. A tall young man looking like a beautiful geisha doll at a concert. Someday, he thought to himself, when my band is a well-known Indies band or a major, some of these people will remember me here. He almost felt ashamed at the thought but shrugged it away. Was it so wrong to be proud of his band?
His cell phone rang.
"Moshi moshi?"
"Tomo-chan?"
"Yuki!"
"What are you doing?"
"Standing in the crowd, waiting for the show to begin. And you?"
"Sitting in my dressing room, waiting for the show to begin."
"Yuki, do you think there's anything wrong with me?"
"No, why?"
"Because there's this guy staring at me."
"It could be the fact that you look like a girl," Yuki reminded. "Girls aren't the only ones who stare at you, you know. And you're probably wearing your leather pants that show off your butt again. And your smile." Tomo bit his lip. How did Yuki know he was wearing leather pants?
"I'm not smiling and--why, Yuki!! Are you hitting on me?"
"Of course not."
Tomo laughed, "Oh, forget your Hiro and go out with me." He said, winking although Yuki couldn't see it. "We'd make the perfect couple."
Yuki laughed, "And why would I want to do that? Hiro isn't some toy to be forgotten."
Tomo winced, glad that Yuki couldn't see it and gave a derisive snort. "One drummer is as good as another."
"Maybe for you but I prefer my drummer."
Tomo winced again. "And I thought you liked my leather pants," Tomo pouted.
"I do. I just like you better without them."
"Oo! Yuki, I love it when you're in this mood--"
"Shut up, Tomo." There was a long pause. "Listen, I have to go. The show begins in five minutes and Kazuki is getting ready to give his routine pep talk. See you in the crowd."
"See you on stage."
"Ja."
"Ja."
As Yuki predicted, in five minutes the show began. Tomo leaned against the railing and watched his best friend sing and twirl around in his costume, his pink hair spiked up in the back. He watched Yuki do his elaborate hand motions and even had five songs sung to him directly. Tomo turned to see Kazuki, who was jumping around and being crazy during one song, then looked like he was about to fall asleep the next. He turned to see Yukito, standing there calmly and hiding underneath his hair like he usually did. He couldn't see Yuki's drummer. But the drumming did sound awfully familiar. And Kazuki...hadn't he known someone with that same name before he met Yuki? The guitarist looked awfully familiar... Tomo shrugged it off. It was in the past...he wasn't good at remembering things, especially bad memories.
The end of the show came and all four members stepped forward. Yuki made sure he had Tomo's attention as he reached for Hiro's hand and they bowed. Tomo gasped.
Hiro....
His chest tightened as his eyes began to water and Yuki began to sing another song but he couldn't hear it. Tomo began to remember.
Hiro's whisper.
Hiro's touch.
Hiro's taste.
The way Hiro would brush his hair.
How patiently he waited for Tomo to finish the other man's makeup.
The look of agony on his face when Tomo broke his heart.
Tomo choked back a sob.
Hiro--hitting him.
His Hiro--
--but no longer.
He was Yuki's Hiro.
Tomo had to get out of there. He looked up and saw the confused look on Yuki's face. Tomo stared past him at Hiro's drumset and the vocalist turned around, still confused. His face practically asked Tomo, What's wrong?
Tomo pushed through the crowd trying to get to the exit, ignoring his friend's confusion, tears almost blinding him. I didn't know. He cried silently. I didn't know that Yuki meant that Hiro. How could I have not known that Yuki was in the same band? How could I have forgotten that I had met Kazuki before? And why..why had it come back to haunt him now?
Tomo no baka.
Forget him...he's not yours.
Just forget.

But the song Yuki sang only served to torment him further. I am...
....a bitch.
