The Second Circle Resort

Madalina gave Isolda a warm welcome into the resort, showing her some of the best features of the resort (including the heated pool) and introducing her to any woman they would come across. As I said earlier, they never shared a scene together on the Borgia show, but they still had nothing but great things to say about each other.

“I apologize if I never got to congratulate you,” Isolda said. “You did a fantastic job.”

“Thank you so much,” Madalina replied graciously. “You were still so much better than me, though.”

Isolda chuckled, “That is easy for you to say when I was the lead actress and you were only in five episodes of the last season."

"May I ask a personal question?”

“Certainly.”

As I said, Borgia was like Game of Thrones in the amount of onscreen nudity it had. Since Isolda was the lead actress, she had multiple nude scenes throughout the show. Madalina wanted to know how she got comfortable doing them, as it took Madalina a lot of convincing to do nude scenes in Borgia and Youth.

“I am sure you had a similar experience filming Youth that I did when I started filming Borgia. It was never easy or pleasant for me to get naked; I was very fortunate to work with directors who were so accommodating and made sure I was comfortable when doing the nude scenes. I suppose that was why they had us wear such heavy clothing because I admit it was such a great relief to take that off.”

Madalina couldn’t help but laugh. She realized how right Isolda was - the heavy period-piece costumes were so burdensome that perhaps Madalina had just gotten a little more comfortable with nudity by the time she filmed Youth.

“So why invite me here anyway? Just to say hello?”

“Partly. The owner wanted to speak with you about becoming a member.”

Isolda looked confused, “I thought you were the owner.”

Madalina seemed slightly taken aback by the apparent miscommunication, “I never said I was the owner.”

“Well, who is?”

“Follow me. I will introduce you.”

Madalina led Isolda to the front lobby. Kacy and Hayley walked past them wearing bikinis, likely on their way to “hang out” at one of the pools. They both waved at Isolda and welcomed her to the resort. Isolda stopped to look at the women walking away, then turned to Madalina with an expression of surprise on her face.

“Was that Hayley Williams?”

“Yes, why?”

“Please excuse me.”

Isolda ran back to catch up to Hayley. She gave Hayley a big hug and told her how much of a fan she was. It took her a minute to get her excitement out of her system, all the while Kacy was standing there looking polite. Eventually, Isolda let Hayley and Kacy on their way to whatever it was they were going to do and returned to Madalina’s side.

“Sorry,” said Isolda.

“No need to apologize. I completely understand.”

Madalina showed her to the door behind the front desk and unlocked it, revealing the staircase that led to her residence. Isolda went first so Madalina could close the door behind them, then Isolda let Madalina walk past her to open the other door. Before she could, however, they noticed a note that Captain left on the door. Madalina took the note and read it silently.

Madalina, I’m with Raven right now. Ella has Charlotte. Please get Isolda settled in and I will meet with her later.

“I apologize,” Madalina said to Isolda, escorting her back up to the lobby, “but he is busy at the moment. I will show you where you can wait for him.”
