'Carrie's pov





Carrie did everything in her power to not roll her eyes as she heard the screams and giggling of the people in front of her. She really didn't want to be so down about Christmas but for the past five years her Christmases had been over taken by Kelly's family. Sure she got on well with Jason but things never gelled so well with Kelly's mother and sister. The older woman hated the fact that Carrie was anything to do with Kelly and Alyssa just really hated her. She hated everything about her and she wasn't afraid to show it. Kelly gave up years ago trying to be the peace maker for her wife and sister. The only good thing about Alyssa was she never involved Kelly in any of her fights with Carrie. Their hate for each other was purely their own. Carrie blew out a long breath as she watched Noah run into Kelly's arms, she had hoped he was over this little stage but no such luck. He was still obsessed .



'Go say hi to aunt Carrie.......'Carrie stood up as she heard Kelly instruct Noah to say hello.



'Hi aunt Carrie.......'Carrie looked down at the little shy boy in front of her. She couldn't really be to mad at him, he looked to much like Kelly.



'Hey.......you got big.......'



'Yep.......'Noah rolled his eyes causing Carrie to realise she could be mad at him all she wanted.



'School good?......'



'No.......'



'How it being a big brother now?.......' Noah just shrugged, he was getting bored now.



'You can walk away if you want.......' Noah nodded before walking back to Kelly who scooped him up in her arms. Oh she could be mad at him. She could hate him if she wanted.

Carrie weaved her way through the large crowd that had gathered in her living room, she had been trying to find Kelly for the past ten minutes.



'Jeanne have you seen Kelly?.......'



'Carrie.......'Carrie felt herself being pulled into the older womans arms. 'How's your hand?......'



'Fine thanks......'Carrie looked over Jeanne's shoulder towards Alyssa who now wore a very confused look on her face.



'Carrie hurt her hand Alyssa.........'Jeanne pointed towards Carrie's bandaged hand.



'I see........and you hurt your head mom?.........'



'No......' Jeanne answered.



'So stop touching her..........i know its Christmas and all but doesn't mean we should all lose our minds........'



'Nice seeing you again Alyssa.......' Carrie quickly left hoping to find Kelly somewhere else.





Kelly's pov



'So mom seems happy......' Jason Gently rocked Jakob in his arms as he watched Kelly fix her hair in the mirror.



'I think she's trying......'Kelly beamed.



'And that doesn't scare you?.......'



'Think it scares Carrie more......'Kelly answered with a smile.



'Im really glad you two worked it out.....i really didn't want to be picking sides in a divorce........'



'Jason......'Kelly laughed. ' im your sister.......'



'And Carrie isn't?........Don't act all insulted.....you brought her into this family......' Kelly smiled at her brothers words.



'You really love her don't you?........'



'Carrie?.......guess so.....' Jason tried to sound casual about it.



'You love her.......'Kelly giggled. 'You love my wife........' Kelly couldn't get the grin off her face.



'Kelly......'Jason warned.



'Oh come on ........you love my wife......'Kelly giggled as Jason's face turned bright red.



'I love ice cream too........let's not go on about it..........' Jason stood letting Kelly take Jakob from him. 'You don't have to be mean about it.......'Kelly stood open mouthed as Jason walked out the room. He was always a little sensitive about things. She couldn't wait to tell Carrie.





Carrie's pov





Carrie took a deep breath as she stood under the tree house. She could hear movement above her, hopefully it was her wife. As she popped her head through the little door her hopes were shot as she was face by someone else.



'Aunt Kelly said I could.......'Noah sat frozen in the tree house afraid of what Carrie would say.



' That's ok.......You can be here if you want........'Carrie climbed up taking the seat across from Noah.



'This is really cool.......'Noah beamed as he looked around the tree house.



'Yea?........you don't have one?.......' Noah shakes his head.



'No....mom says she doesn't think they are safe.........'



'Well they can be.......you just have to be carefully.......'



'Your really lucky......'Noah pointed out.



'It's a pretty cool tree house.......'



'I mean your lucky to have Aunt Kelly.........'



'Im very lucky.......'Carrie smiled. She watched the little boy shift around uncomfortably.



'I miss her a lot........'Noah let his eyes fall on the floor. 'Some people don't believe she's my aunt.......they think im making it up........'



'That can't be fun........'Carrie really wasn't prepared for a deep conversation with the little boy in front of her.



'It's not.......and the ones that believe me always ask question about you guys........and when I tell them things they say im showing off then I don't say anything they say I think im to good for them.........It's really hard sometimes......'



'You told Aunt Kelly this?......'Noah shook his head hard.



'I don't want to make her sad.......'Carrie nodded in agreement, she knew that would make her wife sad. She suddenly realised why the little boy was so happy to be around his aunt, His little life was hard. Being around his aunt Kelly made things a little easier. Carrie could understand that, she felt the same way.



'Well it can be our little secret........'Noah smiled up at Carrie,



'Thanks aunt Carrie........' He whispered gently.





Kelly pov.





'What do you mean she went out?......'Kelly stood in front of Her mother.



'She left about an hour ago.......said she needed something........'



'I can't believe her......'Kelly blew a strained of hair out her face. Carrie had promised her they would stick together during this and she had took the first chance and ran. Quickly pulling her phone out of her pocket she dialled the familiar number.



'Hello?.......'



'Where the hell are you?.......'



'In the drive way..........' Kelly rushed towards the front door as Carrie entered.



'You left......'



'And I came back......'



'But you left.....where did you go?......' Kelly felt herself being pulled into the office.



'We needed more gifts........'



'Gifts?.....'Kelly asked confused. 'I bought them all last month.......'



'Well.....'Carrie moved around uncomfortable. ' I needed to buy Noah something.......'Carrie avoided her wife's eyes.



'You needed to......Carrie what's going on?......'



'You were right.....'Carrie ignored the little smile forming on her wife's face. She always loved hearing she was right. 'I think it's important to spoil the kids a little........we're away from them a lot....they miss us......and we miss them.......'Carrie was just throwing words out hoping Kelly wouldn't as any questions.



'But you only bought Noah something?........'



'We can give it to him in secret........the others don't need to know.......'



'And what brought this on?.....'



'I realised how much he misses you.........he really loves you........'Kelly's face lights up as Carrie spoke. 'So we can give it to him tonight ......before bed........'Kelly bit her lip as she reached over pulling her wife into a hug.



'Your really great.........'



'It's easy to be with you......'Kelly let out a little giggle as she captured her wife's lips with her own.
