Chapter 49
Carrie's pov
'You know.........if I knew this was what would happen I would never have bought you them..........'Carrie stood at the bottom of the bed looking at her wife, waiting for a reply. Not that she was likely to get one. Kelly had been frozen to the spot the moment she opened the first Twilight book. The only movement Carrie had witnessed in the past three hours was the slightly twitched that involved turning the page. 'Kel?........'
Nothing,
'Baby........' Carrie's voice was sweet and light.
Still nothing.
'KELLY FIRE.............' Carrie ran to Kelly's side to see her wife looking calmly up at her.
'In the room?........'
'No.......'Carrie answered with a hint of confusion.
'Come get me when it reaches the door...........'Kelly smiled sweetly before returning her eyes to the book in front of her. Carrie really didn't know how to answer that, All she could do was nod politely before backing out the door.
......................................................................
'Ah don't pout about it.........' Ashley slipped a cup of coffee in front of her best friends wife.
'I am not pouting.......'Carrie answered trying her best to push in her bottom lip. 'It's just a stupid book........i don't why she's so involved in it...........'
'It's not stupid........'Ashley tried to say.
'I mean everyone's gone home ...........i would think she would want to spend some time alone.........but no she has to ignore me for that stupid book...........'
'It's not stupid I said..........'Ashley snapped as she stormed out the room leaving a sniggering Jason at the door.
'What the hell's her problem.......'Carrie asked in a shocked tone.
'You bad mouthed the Twilight book?............'
'Yea........'
'Well.........'Jason began as he took a seat across from his sister in law. ' Something strange has happened to the woman of America............This book has completely taken over their life's and no one and I mean no one can stand in it's way...........Don't even try.............'Jason's voice held a dramatic tone as he gave his view of the book.
'Seriously?........' Carrie quizzed. She really wasn't getting any of this.
'Serious........'Jason repeated back as he leaned in closer on the table, his elbows digging into the edge of it. 'You can't say anything bad about it.........'Jason lowered his voice as much as he could. 'You won't win..............'
'What's got them all so.......so.........'
'So crazy?......'Jason offered with a smile.
'Yea.,.......'
'Edward........'Jason answered with an nod.
'Edward?.......'
'Edward............' Jason confirmed.
'And what's Edward...........'
'Edward........'Jason began as she pulled his chair closer. 'is the main attraction in the book........a man so perfect he's making every girl fall in love with him...........'
'Their falling in love with a character in a book?.......'Carrie asked with a smile.
'Head over heels.........this guy is so perfect.........well in their eyes of course.......'Jason quickly corrected. ' I don't think he's perfect........'
'Course you don't/........'Carrie did her best to hid the smile that was forming on her face. She really couldn't believe her wife has became so engrossed in a book. 'So what makes him perfect..........'
'Everything I guess............'Jason was trying his best to sound like he wasn't interested any more. 'I guess he knows what to say and when to say it............'
'And that makes him perfect..........'Carrie really wasn't asking a question just stating a fact for herself. She was now getting competition from a character in a book of fiction, not really something she liked so much.
.........................................................
Carrie stole another look at her wife as they both lay in bed together. She had gave up hours ago trying to convince Kelly to put down the damn book. Edward had won for now, but she knew she would win in the end. She had to finish the book some time.
'So did that fire ever reach the room door?.........'Kelly's eyes wandered from the book for a split second before falling back down again.
'Not yet..........how's Edward?..........' Carrie tried to keep her voice as even as possible, she didn't want to risk Kelly hearing the jealously in it.
'Don't pout baby.......it doesn't suit you............'Kelly smirked causing Carrie to pout even more.
'How many pages left?.........'
'Mmmmm maybe fifty............' Kelly's eyes never left the book in front of her.
'And you don't want to leave any of it for tomorrow.........'
'I'm just finishing this chapter..........'
'Cause it's pretty late..........i mean I don't want you to get tired tomorrow..........'
'I was planning to spending tomorrow in bed anyway.........'
'Really?......'Carrie asked with a smirk, maybe letting Kelly finish the book now would leave so much more time tomorrow for fun in bed.
'Yea......there's three more books to get through......'Carrie threw herself back against the pillow in frustration.
'Yea you do that.......' Carrie rolled onto her side away from Kelly as she pouted some more. She now wished she'd hadn't bought the damn books. It only took a few seconds to feel the bed to move before Kelly's arm snaked round Carrie's stomach pulling her closer. The smaller blonds chin resting gently on Carrie's exposed shoulder.
'Your not really jealous of a fictional character are you?........'Kelly's voice was soft as it reached Carrie's ear.
'Your not falling in love with one are you?........' Carrie could feel Kelly smirk .
'Why would I be falling for him when I have my very own Edward right here.........'It was now Carrie's turn to smirk.
'You calling me a man.........'
'No......'Kelly giggled. ' Im just saying.........why look for perfect when I already have it?........'Carrie turned to look at her wife.
'Your pretty smooth.........'
' I would say perfect......but smooth works too........'Carrie smiled brightly as Kelly stole a quick kiss. It didn't take to long for the kiss to turn into something a little more heated.
'You know.........if I knew this was what would happen I would never have bought you them..........'Carrie stood at the bottom of the bed looking at her wife, waiting for a reply.
