Patiently Waiting, cont.

"WHAT?!"

Proof and Bizarre looked at each other and then towards Marshall's office door, remaining completely still as his deep voice rang through their ears and the entire lobby.

"What the fuck do you mean Kim put her in the hospital? Goddamnit, I'm going to kill that fucking whore." Proof stood to his feet and went to the door, opening it slowly - only to slam it once he saw the very expensive cell phone come flying in his general direction. Bizarre leaned back in his chair as the cell phone broke against the thick door and sighed.

"Don't go in there man - we already had to bury Bugz."

Proof shot him a glare and reopened the door, "Slim, dude. What the fucks going on?"

Marshall was pacing in his office, throwing photos of Hailie across the room - anything he could get his hands on. Proof watched him pick up an expensive statue of a naked woman and lunge it towards the picture window behind his desk, coming an ace of throwing it twelve story's down.

"Yo, calm the fuck down and talk to me before you hurt someone!"

Marshall spun around; if looks could kill Proof would be six feet under by now. "That fucking whore jumped Shanea while she was at school today - she fucking brought big Bertha and Michelle Fatass down there and they fucking beat her down. I'm gonna kill her Proof - right the fuck now, where's Kuniva?"

"We ain't gettin' that crazy mother fucker in on this, Em. Just chill for a second, fuck - let me think."

"Are you deaf dumb and fuckin' stupid, Proof? Where the fuck is Kuniva!" Proof moved towards Marshall and grabbed him roughly. "Calm the fuck down, man - you startin' to piss me the fuck off. Now look - we ain't killin' Kim, think about Hailie.."

Proof let go of Marshall's expensive shirt and watched him sink down into the leather chair.

"Now think for a minute - first, where is Shanea? Is she in the fuckin' bi-county hospital because damn - we gotta go get her." Marshall thought for a moment and shook his head 'no', "She goes to that college of business of Parkview boulevard - she's probably at Oakland General." [A/N: Thank you to Yahoo! Maps for the help on this one. You'll appreciate that it's legit. ]

"I think we need to let loose damn all this fuckin' work and baby momma drama? Fuck, I'm callin' Kuniva."

Proof grabbed the cell phone out of Bizarre's hand, "Ain't no body callin' Kuniva." He assured - afraid that word would slip out that Kim was fucking with Shanea and Marshall - no one knew like Proof knew. Kuniva was a crazy mother fucker.

"Let's call Paul and get Dre in on this.."

Marshall was sitting in his office with Shanea, holding her cold hands in his own. All he could do was stare at her and wonder what life would be like without her. If he would have fucked up one more time. Kim was a psycho ex wife who felt like another woman was taking over her life, her husband and her daughter. There was no telling what Kim's next move would be and Marshall didn't want to find out.

"Have you thought about it?" He finally asked, breaking their stare for a moment. It probably wasn't the right time to ask but it was eating away at him. "I mean, what do you think?" There was no avoiding the question this time. Shanea opened her mouth to speak; the words catching in the back of her throat. "Marshall, I.."

The office door flew open suddenly - causing Shanea to yelp out in surprise. Her neck snapped to the side and watched Proof and Bizarre ease their way into the room with their hands over their eyes. "Yo, if there's sex goin' on that's cool - we be naked in a new york minute."

Marshall rolled his eyes at Bizarre's remark and told them to stop fuckin' around. "What the hell do ya'll want?" Proof pulled up a chair beside the desk and grinned ear to ear; "We got a party goin' on down town at this fine ass night club - paid the owner to close it up so Dre could come."

"Figured you and your girl needed some R & R, Dee's gonna watch the kids." Bizarre assured, speaking of his wife. Before Marshall could decline Shanea had jumped to her feet, "Sounds great! Let's go so I can freshen up.." She never looked back at Marshall as she slid through the room and out the office door - feeling his hot stare on her back as she disappeared down the hallway.

~

"This is off the hook!" Kuniva assured, slapping hands with Bizarre.

They were in down town Detroit partying at one of the hottest night clubs; strippers, liquor - anything you wanted at your finger tips. Not the best place to bring your; Marshall pondered for a moment. He didn't really know what the fuck Shanea was. Pain in the ass, girlfriend, baby's momma, lover? All of the above. He sighed, sinking down into the comfortable chair.

Shanea was on the dance floor goofing off with Proof and Denaun, laughing wildly as Bizarre got up to dance - literally shaking the house. It wasn't a sight many people fancied but it brought a grin to Marshall's lips. Dumbass. He returned his attention to Shanea and lost that smile wondering if she was going to marry him? If she had even considered or was just stalling to think of a way to let him down easy. The thought made his heart ache - his eyes glued to her as she moved slowly to the rhythm.

"Yo, man - why you lookin' all down in the dumps and shit? We here to party." Proof assured, sitting down beside Marshall and following his gaze. He laughed and slapped his friend hard on the shoulder; "You got it bad, huh?"

"What? No. Fuck no. I'll never let another bitch bring me down... in a relationship..."

Proof stared at him in disbelief and burst into tears, laughing so loud Shanea looked in their direction. "Man you buggin' - if Bugz was here he'd bitch slap your ass 'cause Shanea - she's the best fuckin' think that ever ALMOST happened to you and you know it."

"I asked her to marry me."

This caught Proof by surprise, stopping his laugh and his jokes quickly. "What?" It was Marshall's turn to laugh, mockingly in Proof's face. "Yeah - that's right, don't worry though - she won't give me an answer. It ain't happenin' and that's alright cause who the fuck needs another nagging, bitchy wife?"

The club suddenly because so quiet they could hear each others heartbeat.

"You do, Slim."

~

Shanea glanced over at Marshall; his head was resting against the window - his eyes vacant and lost in thought. A mack truck could fit in the space between them and she didn't like it one bit.

"Em? Are you mad at me?"

He didn't answer her.

"Marshall?"

He sighed, causing her anger to flare slightly. She hadn't done anything wrong - she hadn't told him no, not yet at least. Why was he being such an asshole over all this? Shanea returned her attention to the window once she realized he wasn't going to say anything.

Stubborn fuck.

"Asshole."

~

Marshall laid on his back - staring at the ceiling. Moonlight slipped through the blinds - casting a light blue shadow on the walls. He didn't know where Shanea was and didn't really care. How could she deny him like that? Not even give him a legit answer - just leave him in limbo.

"Damnit, Shanea.."

He had heard the door creak open and close quietly; watched her shadow move across the walls and towards the bed. Shanea jumped, surprised that he knew she was there - she had snuck in to the best of her ability.

Well, fuck.

Without speaking she slid into the bed and directly over his reluctant body, pressing her weight down in all the right places. Marshall shifted beneath her, considering throwing her off the bed and half way across the room. He was still angry.

Instead of hurting her he ran his hands up her sides and held her steady; grinning at the look on her face once she realized she was pinned between a rock and a hard place.

Shanea glared at him and leaned down, pressing her lips to his in a slow - sensual kiss. Their tongues touched softly and his hands gripped her hips, his recluse attitude slipping away once the kiss deepened and she began squirming on top of him.

"Can't take much more of that.."

Marshall moaned against her ear, nibbling the lobe before moving down to her neck. She ignored his protest and continued to rock her hips back and forth - grinning at the obscenities that threatened her.

"Marshall?" There was nothing seductive about the way she said his name but he moaned anyway - completely lost in his own pleasure. "Marshall?" He nodded slightly - closing his eyes, holding her hips tightly with no luck - groaning as she bucked against him harder. "Marshall?"

His eyes snapped open and he growled, "Damnit, Shay - what?!" She grinned and placed a kiss on his bottom lip as he stared at her, slack jawed and frustrated. His dick throbbed against her jeans and she suddenly realized what wonderful control she had over him.

She answered with a simple, "Yes."

~

Confusion didn't do the look in his eyes justice as Marshall stared up at her. He had been thinking with the 'head without brains' for ten minutes now and this caused her to laugh, kissing him again.

"Geez, Em - I know your not an educated man but---." Her lighthearted expression dissapeared once he sat up, holding her steady on his lap. Shanea yelped in surprise when he grabbed her roughly by the shoulders and glared at her.

"Are you serious?" A beat passed between them. "Are you fuckin' serious, Shay?"

"Yes..." She whispered, looking at him. Her voice was calm and serious now - assuring him that she wanted to marry him more than anything she'd ever wanted before. She loved him. Why was he looking at her as if she had a second head growing from her neck? Why hadn't he said anything?

"Marsh--." Her soft voice was cut off by his mouth - crashing into hers so savagely she felt dizzy. Marshall forced his tongue into her waiting mouth and moaned, pushing her backwards on the bed. "God, Shay.." He looked at her - studying her face closely before smothering her in another attack of random kisses.

He sat back after a moment and finally allowed her to breathe - the sad, grey look in his eyes was gone and only happiness remained. He was actually beaming from ear to ear - rubbing his hands idly down her sides as she stared up at him with an innocent grin on her lips.

"This ain't happenin'... I'm in a fuckin' dream, right?"

Shanea shook her head no and met his lips half was as they kissed again, slower this time. Marshall held the back of her head as she leaned into his lips and sighed, snaking her arms around his neck to pull him down on top fo her. "I love you.." He whispered against her lips, trying desperately to remove her top without having to break their connection.

"..love you, too.." Shanea assured, shedding her silky camisole before sliding her hands up his own baggy white shirt. The familiar shirt went flying across the room and her fingers traveled down his chest, stopping above the thick black belt that held his oversized jeans up. "..hurry.." Marshall groaned against her hair, watching her fingers idly play with the loop before completely removing the restraint.

Damnit, new house rule - less clothes. Marshall thought as he fumbled with Shanea's bra - finally ripping the small piece of cloth away from her in one easy jerk. "Marshall?! That's victoria secret!" Shanea cried, reaching for the torn article of clothing. Marshall grabbed her by the arms and held her down on the bed, causing a soft moan to pass her open lips.

"I'll buy you the whole fuckin' story, Shay.."

This made her smile and she agreed, quickly removing the remaining clothes that they wore. In one easy thrust he was inside of her - eyes closed tight, holding onto her wrists for support. She loved the way she could make Marshall Mathers, a very powerful man, so weak sometimes.

She really loved him.

~

"Me moke." Madison reach for Proof's 'black and mild' only to have it jerked away from her quickly. "When did you start smokin', little girl?" He asked with a grin, causing her to narrow her eyes and glare at him.

"Me moke!"

Marshall rolled his eyes and grabbed Madison by the waist, lifting her into the air. "Just because uncle Mike smokes doesn't mean you get to, young lady!" He assured, causing her to giggle and demand she be put down. She ran around the large excutive table and landed on her butt in front of Bizarre, looking at him with wide eyes.

"So, Em - we've been thinkin' about makin' another album, D12 World. You up for it? We can use your help - these fool's ain't buyin' our shit unless you on it."

Proof slapped Bizarre and made him apoligize for saying the s word around Madison, who was fasinated with the 'larger then life' rap star. She remained quiet and began playing with a doll beside him.

"I got a lot of important stuff comin' up, Biz. I'll try to be on a few tracks but ya'll have crazy skills. You don't need me."

"Shi-oot, Em. You know better. What kinda 'important stuff' you got goin' on anyway?"

Marshall looked at his friends and glanced towards Madison, ushering them out into the hallway. "We ain't said nothin' to Hai and Madi yet so don't you dare go in there actin' crazy but me and Shay.." He glanced at Proof first and then Bizarre and the others. "We're gettin' married."

~

"What?! Holy shit!" Swift yelled, his shrill voice echoing through the thin hallway. "Shh, damn Swift - Marshall said he don't want Hai or Madi knowin' he's hookin' up with Shay." Bizarre stated matter-of-factly.

"What's 'hookin' up' mean, daddy?"

Marshall's head spun around so fast Shanea feared it would snap; his mouth hanging open in surprise and bewilderment. He had never looked more adorable. She gave Hailie's hand a gentle squeeze before allowing her to run down the hallway and towards her father, the question still up in the air.

"Hookin' up, Hai.. we're.. gonna hook up, later.. at the, um.." His pleading eyes went to Shanea and she smiled, walking across the hall to meet them. He watched as she sank down to her knees in front of Hailie and brushed away the little girls hair from her eyes. "We're hookin' up at Little Italy, honey. You know the resturant with.."

"..the cheesy pasta! That is the best!" Hailie squealed, jumping up and down quickly. Shanea hugged her and stood to her feet, smiling sweetly over at Marshall. Damn he loved this woman.

~

"Yo, Em.."

Marshall stayed back with Proof as the rest of D12 walked out of the building after their meeting. Shanea had come to pick up Madison and take her and Hailie to the park before they went home to get ready for their dinner date at seven p.m. Proof stood in front of Marshall with a concerned and surprised expression on his face.

"Is this shit with Shay legit? I mean - marriage? Em, you know what thats like."

"She's not Kim, Proof."

"Yeah but shes a female and females are psycho tricksters. Don't get me wrong - you and Shanea are a blessing from above but marriage? Man I don't know."

Marshall looked at everything but DeShaun - trying not to let his anger show. Who the hell was he to say what was best for him? He had a wonderful relationship with his babies momma.

"Listen, dude - I know what I'm doin' alright? Shay's a good girl.."

Marshall didn't give him a chance to continue their conversation as he pushed through the front door and fled down the street towards his parked SUV.

~

"Do you have hammyboogs?"

"Hammyboogs?"

The waiter looked at Shanea and then Marshall, unsure of what the four-year-old meant. He held the pad of paper tightly in his hand - a little nervous, he was new and Marshall was one of the first superstars he had ever seen in the small secluded resturant.

"Hamburgers, man. If you don't have 'em - get 'em." Marshall muttered, shoving a hundred dollar bill into the waiters hand quickly. He nodded and ran towards the back of the resturant. Shanea shook her head and reach across the table to touch Marshall's out streched arm, causing him to flinch slightly. Their eyes met and he forced a smile.

"Are you alright, Em?"

Marshall nodded slightly and glanced down at the drink menu, trying to figure out how he was going to bring up getting married to his two young daughters - not to mention try to forget what Proof had said eariler. Then of course there was still Kim - once she got word of the happy occasion she would surely try to have Shay murdered.

"Fine." He croaked, clearing his throat.

~

Madison looked up at Shanea with big blue eyes, drinking her soda loudly through a straw. Shanea was trying her best to clean the chocolate ice cream off her daughters face and shirt with no luck.

Toddlers were messy little things.

"Hai, Madi - we gotta talk to you about somethin'." Marshall started, leaning back in his chair. The two little girls turned their attention to their father and smiled. They were adorable kids - bright blue eyes; Hailie with her mothers long blond hair and Madison with her mothers daker, curly locks. His heart melted at the sight of them.

"Well, I want you guys to know that me and Shanea like each other very much. So much that we want to get married.." He waited for Hailie to leap from her chair and throw the biggest fit known to mankind but she didn't - she sat in her chair and looked over at Shanea, with a faint smile. "Hai baby that doesn't mean..."

"I know, daddy." She assured quietly, her smile growing bigger. "You and Shanea love each other! I knew it!" She squealed, laughing. "I think it's okay... Shanea's nice to me.."

"What about you, Madi? Mommy and daddy are getting married."

Madison sat her drink down on the table and looked over at Marshall. "What's married?" She wondered aloud - glancing at Shanea, then Hailie. "We're going to live together all the time and be a big happy family."

He little face lit up and she clapped happily. "Really? Dat would be great cause den me and Hailie could spend the night together all the time and play with barbies when you go to bed."

Marshall grinned, glancing at Shanea. "You better not be playin' with barbies after bedtime!" He growled lightly, tickling Madison - then Hailie. The girls laughed loudly through the resturant, shoving their dad away.

~

"I don't think you should marry her, dawg. I mean damn - look at her."

Marshall looked over at Shanea, narrowing his eyes. She was standing at the front door - Madison in her arms - Hailie at her side. She looked - lovely - with her hair long and in curls like when they were kids and those eyes - god those eyes. She was wearing white capri's and a lavendar camisole top.

"What's wrong wit her, Proof? She's amazing."

"She's just like all the other girls, Em. You remember that one with the nose? Damn - she tried to fuck you over bad with the press, tryin' to sell a gay story about you and Elton? What makes you think Shanea's any different?"

"She is different." Marshall growled, turning to his friend. "What the fuck's wrong with you, man?"

Proof held his hands up in defense and nodded towards Shanea. "Yo, I ain't the one you gotta worry about.." Marshall turned his head quickly and stepped back in shock as Kim stared back at him - a pleasent smile on her thick lips. Shanea was standing miles away from him, knelt down with her head in her hands sobbing.

"What the fuck? Shay!" He tried to move towards her but his feet were like concret and Kim was blocking the path. Why was she crying? Why couldn't he go to her? "Shanea!" Kim moved closer, her smile turning into a sneer.

"You know you want me baby.."

"Fuck you."

"Okay.." Marshall closed his eyes, suddenly feeling very arroused. To his surprise, Shanea was straddling his lap - running her hands over every inch of his body. "Fuck baby.. that feels.." He opened his eyes, seeing Kim's face where Shanea once was. "I know what you like baby.."
