The Big Show
"You look vaguely familiar."
"No I don't Mr. Lesley's dad, sir." Billie mumbled while keeping his head down in shame.
"How did you know who I am?"
"Doesn't everyone? I mean your so cool and all Mr. Sir."
"Wait a minute! You're that punk!!!"
"No I'm not. I have to go. Nice talking to you Mr. Sir!"
Billie Joe ran off which left me and only me for my dad to attack. I gulped and stepped forward towards my dad. My mind was dizzy and full of thoughts. Some thoughts of running away from him, slapping him, or just taking his punches.
"Your two weeks are up Lesley."
"Nu-uh, I've still got like." I glanced at my Jack Skellington watch and said "Four more hours!"
"Time to go."
"No."
"Yes."
"NO!"
"Don't you dare yell at me! Now hurry up and get your things because Anna is waiting in the car."
"You brought her just to torment me more didn't you?"
"I don't know how she 'torments' you but fine keep on whining and complaining."
I felt the anger rise inside of me. Instead of acting on it I did what I normally do. I just cried. It was either cry or punch him. I then went through about five different emotions within twenty seconds. I was crying but then, I let the anger show and I began punching the wall then, I thought about Billie and got really happy then, I thought of Anna and got jealous, and finally, I smiled because I realized that there was nothing to be upset about. I can be such a drama queen.
"I'm not going with you."
"Stop with this shit again."
"Give me one reason why I have to."
"I'm your father."
"So? I don't always listen to you."
"I know, just look at you."
"Hey now, just cause I have my lip pierced and my hair like this doesn't mean I'm a faliure."
"No, but the fact that this is the best job you can get and the fact that I got it for you, does mean you're a failure."
I started cursing under my breath and just stumbled away. I kept thinking and asking myself why I dealt with my dad for so many years. Then I noticed Billie sneaking around the lot and I stopped him.
"Is he gone yet?" he whispered.
"Yeah." I said normally.
"Oh thank fucking God. He is creepy and controlling man. I just want to fucking kick his ass."
"You're not the only one that wants to."
"Lesley!" a woman's voice called out.
"Fuck no...it can't be..Anna! Hey!"
Anna ran up to hug me and I just slipped backwards into Billie's arms. Billie held me tightly and just laughed. "If I only had a gun..." I thought
"Who is that?" Anna asked while looking at Billie with her bedroom eyes.
"My boyfriend!" I blurted out.
"Ah, so this is the punk God, eh?"
"My punk God yes."
"Hmm..please forgive me from saying this but, isn't kind of higher on the dating scale than you? He's higher than me even."
I looked over at Billie's face and he looked stunned. I smirked at my sister and said "Yeah, he is on a higher level than you isn't he?"
Anna dragged me away from Billie. "What was that for?" I asked while trying to pop my arm back into place.
"I wanted to have a sister to sister talk."
"Shoot."
"Well, guess what daddy just did?"
"I don't know, told you that you're better than me?"
"No, well, yeah but that's not what I was getting at. I got a job on tour with you!"
"No you didn't."
"I did! Daddy had a talk with all these people and bam, he got me right on board with you Les!"
"No, you're not right on board with me."
"Oh, shush! It'll be just like it was back at home when we were little!"
"I have to go talk to Billie. Ok, bye!"
I ran up to Billie and dropped to my knees. I grabbed the bunched up pant fabric at his knees and cried "She's coming on tour with us!".
"Who is?"
"Anna!"
"I'm sorry Les!"
"I need a gun!"
"What for?"
"Either killing her or me!"
"Come here now. Calm down."
Billie pulled me up and smiled. "It'll be ok. You won't have to work together."
"Working with her isn't the problem."
"What is?"
"Nothing."
Anna hopped over to where me and Billie were standing. I was grinding my teeth and cursing the day she was born. She loved to be better than me. I had a boyfriend and she didn't so automatically I knew she was going to get one. Not just anyone though, mine. She said that Billie was above her and yet I got him so ,bam, she'll go after him.
"I'm Anna."
"I'm Billie."
Anna stuck out her hand and Billie warmly shook it. "Mother fucker..." I thought.
"So, how's it going Billie." She giggled.
"Pretty well, you?"
"I'm doing great now..."
She started twirling her blonde hair and was full on giggling while jumping up and down. She was wearing a low cut shirt so when she jumped her fake breasts nearly completely fell out and caught the light of day. Her tongue ran across her lips as she shot him the dirtiest look I've ever seen. And I mean dirty in a sexual way. Billie smiled awkwardly at her and slowly leaned in towards me.
"Why is she so giggly?" he whispered to me.
"'Cause she's flirting."
"She does know what the words 'boyfriend' and 'my' mean right?"
"She missed her first day of school and never really caught up after that."
"No I don't Mr. Lesley's dad, sir." Billie mumbled while keeping his head down in shame.
