Chapter 56
++++++++
Carrie smiled as she walked up behind Kelly who was staring intently at the pool. She wrapped her arms around the Texan, slipping her hands into the front pocket of the hoodie she was wearing.
"What's up?" Carrie asked, hugging her from behind.
"I wanna go swimming," Kelly frowned.
Carrie laughed, "It's still a little cold for that, don't you think?"
"It's heated," she pouted.
"Kell, the pool's heated, but the air around it isn't, and the last thing you need is to be getting a chest cold right before you go on tour with Reba, right?"
"Yea," she nodded, leaning back into the country singer, closing her eyes.
"So, I have an idea."
"Ok."
"I wanna go on a date," Carrie smiled.
"Care, we really aren't supposed to be leaving, especially together on a date," Kelly reminded her.
"I know, but I was thinking old school."
"Old school?"
"Yea, like middle school," she grinned.
"Why would we go to my middle school on a date?"
"No, silly," Carrie laughed, poking her stomach through her jacket, making her giggle. "I meant, you and me, on the couch in the living room watching a movie."
"Ooo," Kelly smiled. "But you see, I remember those dates being under extremely heavy supervision."
"Mm, yea, but I've managed to talk to Jason, Ashley, and Tony, and they promised to stay far away from us tonight," Carrie replied softly in her ear, nibbling playfully.
Kelly's smile grew, "I'm definitely liking the sound of this."
+++++++++++
Kelly smiled into the kiss as she felt Carrie's hands slide into her back pockets while she straddled the country singer.
"Weren't we supposed to be doing something?" Kelly asked, pulling back for air.
"Watching a movie?" Carrie offered, grinning at Kelly's swollen lips. "But personally, I think this is so much more interesting..."
Kelly laughed as Carrie kissed her neck a little more forcefully than necessary.
"You're gonna leave a mark," Kelly giggled.
"That's the point," Carrie replied as she pulled back, admiring her work. "You ever had a hickey before?"
"No, actually."
"Well, you do now," Carrie grinned. "And I have to say, it looks really good on you."
Kelly shook her head as she placed her hands on the back of Carrie's neck, "So what did you say this was called?"
"A date?"
"We should really think about doing this more often."
"Mmhhmm," Carrie nodded as Kelly reached forward for another kiss.
The Texan stopped short, leaving a quick kiss on the tip of her nose before pulling back, a huge smile on her face.
"You think you're funny, don't you?"
"I think I'm pretty damn hilarious, yes," Kelly replied.
"Come here," Carrie demanded.
"Oh, frisky," Kelly laughed, but happily obliged, kissing the country singer heartily. Carrie slipped her hands out of her pockets, and slowly started to run them up and down the top of Kelly's thighs.
Kelly breathed in heavily, pushing into the girl before her. Carrie smiled at having gotten the reaction she wanted. She ran her tongue along Kelly's bottom lip, and the Texan's hands trailed from behind Carrie's neck, down to her sides where she gripped her shirt tightly as their tongues met. In each motion, Carrie's hands made their way further and further upward and more and more inward. She felt Kelly grind down into her as she moaned loudly against her lips.
Carrie broke the kiss, one hand resting on Kelly's inner thigh, the other waiting, poised at the button of her jeans, "You wanna go to your room?" she asked breathlessly.
"Here's fine," Kelly replied, kissing her again.
Carrie didn't need telling twice as she wrapped an arm around Kelly's waist. Kelly brought her hands back up around Carrie's neck, holding on tightly as the country singer turned them around, lying her down on the couch. Carrie brought her hand up to Kelly's stomach, slipping it under her shirt while the other one started to move up and down Kelly's thigh again. She smiled as Kelly kissed her needily, squirming beneath Carrie's touch.
Kelly ran a hand through Carrie's hair, keeping their lips firmly attached as Carrie's hand slid from her stomach to her jeans, undoing the button and zipper. With Kelly's help she slid them down just enough. She felt Kelly pull away slightly from the kiss as her breath caught in her throat at her touch. Carrie watched as her eyes closed. Their faces were inches apart, and she couldn't help but be surprised at how long Kelly's eyelashes really were. The tips, which were almost golden, normally weren't visible against her light skin, but now she was allowed to see the way they curled up beautifully. She felt her pulse quicken as Kelly bit down on her bottom lip, grabbing onto Carrie's forearm that she was supporting herself on.
Carrie leaned down, kissing both of Kelly's eyelids before resting their foreheads together. She felt Kelly's nails digging into her arm and she tilted her head down, touching their lips together. Kelly's bottom lip trembled against Carrie's, a movement that always sent the country singer dizzy as the shorter body beneath her started to tense up. Kelly pulled away once more, struggling to keep her eyes open as she stared straight into Carrie's eyes; her entire body starting to shake.
Carrie found herself breathless at the intensity of the eyes staring back up at her. She swallowed hard as a wave of emotion washed over her, bringing tears to her eyes, as Kelly's closed tightly, her grip on her arm tightening to an extreme before slowly relaxing. Carrie smiled as Kelly struggled to catch her breath, her head falling back onto the sofa. She wiped the damp bangs off of the Texan's forehead before kissing her gently.
"Have I told you how amazing you are?" Carrie asked.
"Ditto," Kelly breathed raspily, a grin forming on her face.
Carrie laughed, "Feeling alright?"
"Why can't we do this twenty-four seven?" she asked, honestly.
"That has got to be the best idea I've ever heard," Carrie replied.
"We should definitely go back to my room now," Kelly grinned, her heart finally returning to a normal speed.
"You sure can walk? You're still looking a little..."
Kelly laughed hoarsely, "So you're saying you don't want to continue this?"
Carrie's eyes grew wide, "I'll drag you if I have to."

Carrie giggled as Kelly tripped, trying to stand and pull her jeans up all in one motion.
"Shut up," Kelly laughed. "I'm all sweaty."
"Just the way I love it," Carrie smiled, kissing her fully.
"Shower?" Kelly suggested as Carrie led her to her bedroom up the stairs.
"Then again, a clean Kelly is always a fun Kelly," Carrie grinned, pushing her into her room and closing the door behind them.
"Is it bad that with everything going on right now all I can think about is sex?" Kelly asked, helping Carrie with her shirt, smiling as she ran a hand over the country singer's bare stomach.
"Absolutely not," Carrie replied, slipping off her jeans so that she was left in her underwear and a bra. A beeping noise could be heard from somewhere in the room.
"My phone," Kelly rolled her eyes.
"I'm gonna go start the shower. You go check your phone," Carrie said, kissing her once more, making sure to let Kelly know exactly what was on her mind before hurrying to the bathroom.
Kelly stared after her, starry-eyed, before shaking the fuzziness out of her head and walking to her beside table. She groaned, finding that she had over a hundred email messages. Work never stopped. The first few were from her sister and Narvel, just making sure they had gotten back ok. The next were from several people asking where the hell she disappeared to, and to call them asap. She clicked on another one, finding a link to one of her fan's blogs on it with the caption 'must read'. She didn't recognize the address, but clicked on the link out of curiosity.
The webpage opened to a post titled 'Kelly's Gay!' Way to be blunt, Kelly thought to herself as she read the first few comments which were just clips from articles talking about the interview. A smile formed as she began to read some of the fan's comments.
Definitely a time to celebrate!
Way to state the obvious, lol.
Don't worry about it Kelly, we still love you!
Does this mean I actually have a chance?
Wtf? I thought she considered herself a Christian? Has she read the Bible?
Dude, grow up. She's happy. Who cares who's she's screwing?
I can't believe some of you people. How can you be happy about this?
God, she's so disgusting. I hope she knows she's going to hell.
Kelly felt as if she were gonna be sick as she continued reading the comments.
What the hell is Carrie thinking? I mean, if she's gonna go gay, at least do it with someone hot and not this cow!
Y'all just need to shut the fuck up. Seriously, she's one of the best singers in the world. Shouldn't that be the only thing that matters?
I hope this butch knows what's coming to her. Fat ass dyke.
Die bitch!
"Kelly?" Carrie asked, poking her head out of the bathroom. "What's taking you so long?"
Kelly couldn't bring herself to speak as she started to shake.
"Kelly?" Carrie questioned, wrapping a towel around herself as she walked up behind the Texan. "You ok?"
"Yea," she replied as tears started to fall.
"Sweetie," Carrie frowned, wrapping an arm around her from behind, looking over her shoulder to see what was reading. "Oh my God," Carrie whispered, taking the phone from her and turning it off. "Are you ok?" she asked, turning Kelly around so that she could look at her. The tears were streaming down her cheeks as she looked up at her, completely broken.
"No, Kell," Carrie sighed deeply, wrapping her arms around her and pulling her close. "Why did you read that? You know better than to read those things."
"T-they," she stuttered.
"They're trash," Carrie said firmly, holding her as tightly as she could. "Please don't listen to a word they said, alright? Those are just sad people who have crappy lives, and to try and make up for it, they bring others down as well. They don't know what the hell they're talking about."
"Those are my fans," Kelly argued, clinging to her.
"Those are not your fans," Carrie replied.
Kelly let out a choked sob, and Carrie closed her eyes tightly, feeling her heart crumbling at the sound of her crying. She didn't know what to say to make this better which only made it hurt even more to see her like this.
"Come on," Carrie whispered, leading her to the bathroom. She locked the door behind them, turning off the shower and turning on the huge tub, pouring bubbles into it. She tied up her hair in a messy bun before pulling back Kelly's for her. She helped the Texan out of her t-shirt and then her jeans before dropping her own towel. Carrie stepped into the bathub, sitting down in the water that was nearly at her shoulders. She took Kelly's hand, guiding her into the tub as well. Kelly sat down in front of her, leaning back against her. Carrie wrapped her arms tightly around the shorter girl's waist as the sound of her crying filled the bathroom.
She placed a line of soft kisses over the back of her shoulders, continuing to hold her as her own tears started to fall.
"I love you," she murmured, kissing the back of her neck. "I love you so much."
"I hate them," Kelly replied through her tears.
"Baby no. Don't go there. That's what people like that want. They want a reaction out of you," Carrie said, turning her sideways. "They aren't even worth your time or your energy."
"They told me to die, Care," Kelly said, looking her in the eyes, her voice nearly gone from crying so hard, and more tears were still forming.
Carrie shook her head, "No. Kell, no. Don't go there. Please don't do this to yourself."
Kelly closed her eyes as another wave of emotions hit her. When she opened them again, it was to find Carrie's lips crashing down on hers. She held onto Carrie's shoulders tightly, welcoming the intensity of anything that would get her mind on something else. She bit down, almost too hard, on the country singer's bottom lip, but didn't hear a single sound of protest, only felt her arms tighten around her, crushing their two bodies together as they slipped in the water.
Carrie didn't even bother asking as she forced her tongue into Kelly's mouth, feeling the Texan's nails digging into her back and her tears falling onto her cheeks as they turned over, battling for dominance.

Carrie kissed Kelly's forehead gently as they lay in bed. She let her lips linger, relieved at having finally gotten her to sleep. If she had been a smoker, now would definitely be the time for a cigarette, she thought to herself, taking a deep breath and rubbing Kelly's back soothingly at the sight of tears still falling down her cheeks, even in her sleep. She had no clue what to expect in the morning. She could only pray that it would get better than this.
Carrie smiled as she walked up behind Kelly who was staring intently at the pool. She wrapped her arms around the Texan, slipping her hands into the front pocket of the hoodie she was wearing.
