"Where are you going?" Alex asked, climbing onto the sofa next to Kelly, already in her pajamas.
"Carrie and I are going to the movies," she explained.
"I can't come with you?" Alex questioned, sitting on her lap, facing her.
Kelly smiled softly, "No, I'm sorry sweetie, but we're going to be out past your bedtime."
Alex furrowed her brow.
"What's wrong?" Kelly asked, struggling not to laugh at how adorable she looked.
"I'm stuck here with Dr. Lansing?"
"You don't like her?"
"She's not much fun," Alex shook her head.
"True," Kelly nodded. "But hey, Jay and Ashley are going to be here too, and you like Jason, right?"
"Yea, he's funny," she giggled.
"Yea," Kelly smiled.
"When are you leaving to go?"
"As soon as Carrie's ready."
"She primps?"
Kelly laughed, "Totally."
"Why?"
"I don't know," Kelly shook her head.
"You should tell her she doesn't need to. She's pretty like you."
"Well, one, I doubt she'd believe me, and two that'd be a bit conceited for me to say."
"Well, you could skip out the part of you being pretty, that was just an observation."
"An observation?" Kelly grinned. "What have you been watching on t.v.?"
"Jeopardy."
Kelly shook her head, "Shouldn't you be watching like Barney or something?"
"I'm six, not five," Alex replied, looking insulted.
"My bad," Kelly apologized, poking her side and making her giggle. "So," she said, growing serious for a moment. "I need you to be honest with me, ok?"
Alex nodded.
"How are you feeling?"
"Fine."
Kelly frowned, trying to think back to how many times she had used that same response, "You sure? Because if you start feeling worse, you need to tell me right away, alright?"
Alex nodded, frowning as Dr. Lansing walked in the room. She immediately snuggled into Kelly, wrapping her arms around her neck.
"Can you feel her sucking the fun out?" Alex whispered.
Kelly laughed, "You better behave tonight."
"Hey munchkin," Jason smiled as he walked in, sitting on the side of Kelly.
"Hey loser," Alex smiled back, peeking out from Kelly's shoulder, making him laugh.
"You ready to have some fun tonight?"
"Heck yea!" she cheered, high-fiving him.
"So what's on the agenda?" Kelly asked.
"Nothing much," Jason shook his head. "Staying up all night, playing video games, eating junk food, that's all."
"Her bed time's 9:00," Kelly reminded him.
Alex folded her arms, pouting.
Kelly rolled her eyes, "Alright. 9:30, but I mean in bed, asleep at 9:30, you got it?"
"Yes ma'am," Alex grinned excitedly. Her eyes lit up as she looked over Kelly's shoulder.
Kelly turned around to find Carrie walking into the room in a simple blue jean skirt and a halter top. Kelly stood up, placing Alex back down on the sofa.
"You look great," she smiled.
"You too," Carrie smiled back. "You ready to go?"
"Yea."
"Later munchkin," Carrie winked at Alex who was peering over the back of the couch. "Don't stay up too late."
"9:30," Kelly reminded Jason.
"I don't get a good night kiss?" Alex asked, her eyes wide.
Kelly felt her heart melt as she bent down, allowing Alex to rush into her arms. She hugged her tightly, kissing her forehead, "Sweet dreams munchkin, you got that? Nothing else."
Alex smiled as Kelly let her go. Carrie bent down as well, hugging her, "Don't party too hard without me now."
"I'll try," Alex giggled.
