The first reward challenge

Lexi sits on her bus, listening to the pouring rain. The next challenge was going to be cancelled unless they could figure out what to replace the original challenge with. Suddenly she starts smiling brightly and calls her boss. She tells him her idea and gets the go-ahead. Derick walks in and she has him get everything ready. Sitting back in her chair, she stares out the window into the rain.

**MIKE SHINODA'S POV**

We were all sitting around the bus, talking about the challenges and what we've done so far. I was happy with the way things have gone so far. Of coures, it seems odd now that we have 1 less member than the other tribe. Tom was really cool. Well, at least it wasn't me they voted out. I finally notice that it's raining outside. Hm, I wonder what they'll have for us today?

"Hey Mike? You hungry??" Chuck asked.

"I am actually. What do we have?" I asked, looking around him to where we're keeping our food and water.

"Well, I think we've got peanut butter and crackers. I wonder if they'll let us fish or hunt for food or something." Chuck replied.

Suddenly we felt the bus slowing down. I looked up to see that we were stopping at another truck stop. Maybe we could more people to buy us dinner. Chuck and I looked at one another and smiled. We weren't (hopefully) going to have to get into our box of food just yet. I looked back out my window to see that it was raining harder than before. We're gonna get soaked. Someone knocked on the door, signaling that we were getting off the bus. I relayed the message to everyone else and prepared for the freezing rain.

I get off the bus and immediately begin running for the door of the truckstop. It's damn cold getting soaked from head to toe! I'm panting from the long run, yeah they had to park the furthest from the door, imagine that. I see this middle-aged woman staring at me as she sits alone at a table. I smile timidly at her and wait for the others to arrive. Chuck is standing next to me and I motion for him to follow me. I saunter up to Madam's table and flash her my infamous grin. I swear I can almost see her salivating.

"Ma'am, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful your eyes are." I said in the deepest, huskiest voice I could muster.

"Thank you. My name's Isabella." She said, moving around a bit so her boobs jiggled.

"Isabella. That's a beautiful name. My name's Mike and this is my friend Chuck. Mind some company?" I stated.

"Not at all. Have a seat gentlemen." She said, smiling at us both.

You could see others trying the same thing with different people around the truck stop/diner. Chuck had engrossed Isabella in conversation about the differences between the US and Canada. Things seemed to be going well and Isabella decided to buy us lunch. Not just some cheap-ass food either. We had chicken fried steak, baked potatoes with all the trimmings, salad, AND desert. I couldn't believe it. Chuck and I were pigging out when Travis and Billie Joe walks up. They eye us and then Isabella and start to snicker.

"Um, Mike, we're leaving now. Gotta hit the road again." Billie Joe says as Travis stands behind him giggling.

"Isabella, I'm sorry to eat and run, but it looks like we've gotta go. It was very nice meeting you. Here's my email address. I take a while answering emails, so don't be discouraged if I don't answer right away!" I say as I write down my address and hand it to her.

"Take care, sweetie. It was nice talking with you Chuck." She says as she gives each of us a hug.

Before we walk out the door, I look back to her one last time. She's staring at me like she had been when we walked in. Naturally, I have no plans on ever answering any of her emails. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything but she's sooooooooooooo not my type. She had on way too much make-up, she was dressed completely slutty for a woman of her age, which might I add was in her mid forties, and her cologne was way too strong. I don't discriminate against people for their age, but some women can't get away with dressing like their counterparts who are 20 years young.

It's still raining heavily as we stand outside our buses. Another challenge. I think this time it's a reward challenge. I can see every memeber of my tribe is shivering as is Chester's tribe. Why can't we do this indoors where it's not raining? Right, we're on "Survivor". Whoop-dee-doo. It's still fucking cold out here!

**NO ONE'S POV**

Lexi stands under an umbrella with a rain coat on. She smiles at each tribe member as Derick produces a long, thick rope with several loops in it. Each man looks at the rope trying to figure out what's coming.

Lexi: "Gentlemen. Remember the very first challenge you did?"

"Yeah, we had a tug-of-war!" Mike Dirnt yells out

Lexi: "Well, we're doing that again. Only this time, you have mud! The tribe who pulls the other into the mud first wins. Here's the catch! Each person will be tied into the rope and you won't be allowed to use your hands. You're going to have to use your torso to pull the other team. Remember, the mud will be a factor. It's slippery and wet. Gentlemen, you'll have 5 minutes to decide who plays. Only 3 members will be participating in this, however. There's a second catch to this as well. The members who participated in the first tug-of-war CANNOT partake in this challenge. This is a reward challenge. Something I know all of you will appreciate. Your time begins now to decide who plays."

Insert viewer contemplative silence here

The camera pans to each group as they decide who plays. Every now and then you see a hand shoot up in the air. Tribe Punkarocker begins to argue. Suddenly, Chuck looks over to Lexi, trying to get her attention.

Lexi: "Alright, who's gonna play?"

"Quinn, David, and myself." Chuck says for Tribe Punkarocker.

"Chester, Mike, and Billy will represent us." Mark said, laughing slightly.

Lexi: "Alright boys. Billy, Chester, and Mike you will be on this side of the rope (LEXI POINTS TO APPROPRIATE SIDE OF THE ROPE). Quinn, David, and Chuck you will be on this side. Step into the rope (THE ROPE HAS NOOSE SO THAT THE PLAYERS COULD "GET IN THE ROPE" AND STILL BE ABLE TO PULL THE OTHER TEAM). Get yourselves situated. Once I blow the whistle, you're to take your hands off the rope. Whichever team has the most players at the end of 45 minutes or who has pulled the other team into the mud after 30 minutes wins the challenge."

(ORDER OF PLAYERS: MIKE CLOSEST TO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROPE, BILLY BEHIND HIM, CHESTER AT THE END OF THE ROPE. QUINN CLOSEST TO MIKE, DAVID BEHIND HIM, WITH CHUCK AT THE END OF HIS SIDE OF THE ROPE).

Lexi blows the whistle. Each team starts tugging as best they could in the mud. About 10 minutes into the game, Mike had to grab onto the rope to keep from falling in the mud. Lexi blew her whistle for him to be taken out of the game. Tribe Travelandplay now only has 2 players while Tribe Punkarocker still has 3. Each team strained to pull their opponents over the line. Each time a team got near it, they seemed to get a jolt of energy and pull themselves away from it. The rain made things worse with the mud. At one point, David slipped in the mud, but got up before the other team had a chance to pull them over the line and without using his hands. 2 minutes before the 45 minute mark was up, Quinn slipped in the mud and pulled himself up by the rope. Lexi blew the whistle, signaling him to leave the game. It was now 2-on-2. The game would go into over-time.

Both teams fought to drag the other over the line. Both teams were covered in mud. The roar of cheers could be heard over anything else. Bandmates were torn between rooting for their tribe members and their friends and bandmates. Finally with one final tug, David and Chuck pulled Billy over the line. Lexi blew her whistle twice, signaling the end of the game. Each man got up and shook their opponents hands. Jokes were made and everyone was laughing.

Lexi: "Good job, everyone! I'm sure your bandmates would be proud. Well, Tribe Punkarocker won the reward challenge. What you've won is inside this box. Useful things, especially on rainy days like this. You may all head back to your buses now."

Paul picked up the box as Chuck, David, and Quinn used towels to wipe all the mud off themselves with the rain. You could hear laughter all the way from the buses. Chester, Billy, and Mike sayed behind cleaning themselves up as the others did. Each tribe making jabs at the other.

**Back on Tribe Punkarocker's Bus**

"Guys, I think they did an awesome job. What's in the box Paul? Anything we can use??" Billie Joe says/asks.

"Fuck yeah! Rope and what looks to be a rather large tarp!! Hell yeah!" Paul responds enthusiastically.

"Whoah! Slow your horses down boys. We've got money." Tony says as he starts pulling out 9 $20's.

"There's one for each of us. Is there a note or anything??" Mike asked, looking way too serious.

"Yeah, here it is. Let me read it: 'Boys, this is yours. Spend it wisely. You may pull your resources together or spend it on your own. You never know what you may need money for.' That's all it says." Tony replies.

"Hm, I wonder what that could mean?" Travis asks, rubbing his chin like he's contemplating something of major importance

"I don't know but I'm not spending any of this unless it's an emergency or I can't get out of it!" Joel exclaims, sticking his twenty in his jeans pocket.

A few minutes later, Chuck, David and Quinn make it back to the bus. They're soaking wet, but no longer muddy. Paul, Travis and Mike begin to explain what they've received in the box and hand them their money. Chuck looks around suspiciously at everyone before heading off to find clothes he could dry himself off with and change into.

The camera pans to Lexi, who is still standing outside, under the umbrella. She's talking into a second camera. Thunder can be heard in the background and she jumps slightly.

"It seems both tribes are fiercely competitive. That's good. I think both are very strong, physically and mentally. Tribe Punkarocker seems to have gelled since the last challenge. They have one less player, but their spirits seem to upbeat and positive. Now let me remind you, no matter who wins, everyone walks away with money for the charity of their choice. Each day they're out here gives them $5,000 more for their charity. This is Lexi saying good night for 'Survivor: Punk Rock Style'
