The Club
Benji was driving with Wendy up front. I sat in the back in between Billy and Joel. Joel and I talked the entire way to the restaraunt, just getting to know one another. The Valet took the keys from Benji. Wendy took his arm and smiled sheepishly at him. He smiled back and led the way into the lobby of the restaraunt. Looking around at all of us, the Matre' D (SP?) seemed to not think we belonged there. It wasn't until Bert came up to us to show us where everyone else was sitting that they let us in. Billy and I had to laugh, almost as hard as we had been at the mall. I was "officially" introduced to the rest of The Used, Paul, and Mest. They were going to the club with us. 'This is gonna be...interesting' I thought to myself. It was obvious that Wendy and Benji had hooked up. Nikki, well, she was a free spirit. I'm not sure if there was anyone here who could handle her!
Our "little" group finished dinner and sat around a little while talking and drinking coffee. Billy kept staring at me throughout dinner. I know this for a fact because I was staring at him too. I couldn't though. I have a steady boyfriend. You know what! He seems to be having a helluva time without me. Why can't I have a little fun without him?? It's wrong yeah, but obviously Matt and I aren't meant to be. Everyone gets up from the table and makes it out to their respective cars. Billy helps me in once again. I pull my skirt back down, as it's scootched up a little too far. About 30 minutes later, we arrive at a hoppin club.
We enter through the back so that the boys aren't as easily noticed. A booth had been set up with several tables scooted over so that everyone could sit down. Since our car arrived first, we got the booth. I scooted in as Billy followed me. Wendy scooted in next to me with Benji on her left. Joel sat next to Billy. All of The Used arrived with Chris and Mest arrived shortly after them with Paul and Nikki. Jere seemed to have taken a liking to her, as his arm seemed to not have left her side since we left the restaraunt. Matt and Nick offered to get everyone drinks. Benji and Wendy wanted to go dance, so they got up and hit the dance floor. Right before Nick and Matt returned, Jere and Nikki left for the floor. Billy sat next to me in silence, listening to Tony and Nick tell some ridiculous story while I sipped my Pina Colada.
'Salt Shaker' by The Ying Yang Twins came on and Wendy and I hit the floor together. Ever since this came out, no matter who we were with, we always danced to this song together. Naturally, all the guys seem to enjoy watching us as we put on one helluva show. Wendy and I were so busy grinding into one another, we hadn't realized half the club had gathered around the floor to watch us dance! Alas, the song finally ended and we headed back to our table. Once we got within range, everyone started whistling, giving us cat-calls, and whooting for us. Being the hams that we were, we both took a bow. I was about to climb into the booth when a slow song came on. Benji pulled Wendy out on the floor. Nikki pulled Jere out on the floor. Even Paul and Joel had found chicks to dance with. I looked around for Billy but couldn't see him anywhere. After a few moments, I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around to see Billy smiling sheepishly at me, holding out his hand. I smiled back at him as he led me out on the dance floor.
I slithered my hands around his neck as his hands wound around my waist. The dim lights and soft, fluid music seemed to be the perfect atmosphere. The disco ball's shining light seemed to light up his face and electric blue eyes. He pulled me close to him as he stared into my eyes. I could almost feel his soft, pouty lips against mine. For a brief moment, a picture of Matt flashed before my eyes. In an instant, it was gone. I was swaying to the saucy beat of a latin rhythm, being held close by Billy. Not once through the whole dance did he break eye contact with me. It was almost like he'd die if he looked away. All too soon the song ended and a faster-paced song took it's place. A devilish grin found it's way to my face as I pulled Billy even closer than he already was. I turned so that my back was against his front. I slid my hands down his legs and back up. My left hand looped around and brought his arm around my waist. I raised my right hand in the air. Before I could really stop myself, seeing as I still have a boyfriend back home, I was grinding into Billy. Too my suprise, Billy was grinding back!
2 songs later, Billy and I are still on the dance floor. I see Nikki saunter up.
"Having fun?" She asked, an all-knowing look on her face
"Hell yeah! Are you?" I shout in reply
"Fuck yeah!! I'm so glad you decided to bring Wendy and me along. I think I may have found the love of my life!" She yells, just as Jere walks up and slides his arms around her waist
The four of us dance together, screaming over the loud music. Nikki and I are laughing at Bert and Chris "dancing" together. I stop dead in my tracks as I feel hot breath on my neck. Cold metal shortly follows, as does a pair of very soft lips. I smile instinctively. I turn my head so that he's looking straight in my eyes. Someone taps on my shoulder and I see Wendy standing there. Another slow song starts playing.
"Mind if I dance with Billy?" She asks
"Go ahead, I need to sit down and catch my breath." I say, staring at Billy again
I walk back to the booth as she drags Billy away. Chris and Bert are the only people at the table when I arrive. Bert gets out of the booth so that I can scoot in. I finish off my Pina Colada. What am I doing? I almost kissed Billy. I've got a boyfriend for God's sake!!
"What's up chica? You look like something's on your mind. Wanna talk?" Chris asked, concern evident in his eyes
"It's Billy and Matt. Like I said earlier, I've dated Matt for 2 years. But Billy............." I trailed off
For a few minutes I thought Chris had dropped the conversation.
"Well, I can tell Billy really likes you. You're artistic, you're fun to hang with, you're funny, you actually have brains. Your goals go beyond sleeping with a band member, at least I think." Chris replied, wiggling his eyebrows at me seductively
"Well, thank you. I just don't know what I should do about the 2 of them." I said
"Well, I don't know if you want my advice or not. But here it is: give you and Matt some space and time. However long you see fit. Evaluate your relationship. See where that takes you." Chris wisely said as we noticed Wendy and Billy walking up after the song ended.
"Hey, Ash, wanna dance?" Bert asked as he grabbed my hand
"Uh, sure, let's go!" I replied smiling at him and looking back at Billy who shrugged and returned to his conversation with Wendy
Bert and I were having a great time dancing, acting like idiots. I hadn't realized we had been out there for several songs. Another slow song came on and Bert and I continued dancing. I put my left hand on his right arm and snuck my hand around his waist. He did the same with me. We were close, but not as close as Billy and I had been dancing.
"So, you like Billy?" Bert asked, leaning close so I could hear him
"Well, I do, but it's complicated." I said back
"How?" Bert simply asked
"I've got a boyfriend." I replied, looking over at Billy
"You should leave that loser. You belong with Billy." Bert said as he kissed my cheek as the song ended and we walked back to the booth.
Everyone got up to dance again except Billy and I. We sat in silence for a while, watching others dance, sipping our drinks, enjoying just being in each other's company. 10 or so minutes had passed and I looked over at him. He seemed to have something on his mind. I lightly pushed his shoulder, only out of fun. He looked over at me and grinned before pushing me back. A few minutes later, we found ourselves deep in conversation about art and our favorite artists/producers/animators. Suprisingly, Tim Burton was on the top of our lists of people we'd like to meet, art-wise. I took out a pen from my messenger bag and began drawing a scene that was before us on a napkin. Billy seemed to be impressed by my freestyle art. By the time I was done, I had drawn Benji and Wendy dancing. It really was a beautiful drawing, even if it was only on a napkin.
Billy and I alternated dancing and sitting in the booth talking and drawing. Sometimes he'd dance with Wendy or Nikki or I'd dance with someone else. We had alot of fun. Before long, the club was closing and everyone was being kicked out. I said goodnight to everyone who wasn't riding in my car. Billy opened up the door for me and I hopped in. It suddenly occured to me how tired I actually was!! A night of dancing can tire you out! The drive back to the hotel was silent, with everyone lost in their own thoughts. Wendy, Nikki, and I were sharing a room. Billy kissed me lightly on the cheek as we stood at our door. Benji and Wendy were in a fierce make-out session in the hall and Nikki hadn't shown up yet. Probably got stuck with Jere and his crew. I slipped out of Billy's grasp and quietly made my way into my room. I went to the bathroom to draw myself up a bubble bath. I sighed as I slid out of my clothes and into a hot, steamy bath.
