Chapter Six
Chapter Six:
They pulled up to the gate and Emily punched in the code. She was basked in a shimmering glow. He had told her that he loved her. Who was the last person to say that to her? Emily couldn't remember, but she did remembered how good it felt.
They both walked into the front door and was greeted by Missy. She noted that Emily didn't look like Emily, that she looked more happier than usual. 'Maybe she started to get high again.' Missy thought to herself. Pulling her down into the kitchen, the two girls started to whisper.
“Why are you happy and glowing? Are you high?” Missy whispered, almost threatening.
“He told me he loved me Melissa.” Emily rolled her eyes playfully.
“Oh my God. You are serious?”
“Yeah, he told me before we left. I was so shocked! I thought he was going to leave me high and dry when he started the sentence. Then, I was like, wow.” Emily reached into the fridge for a beer, but found none.
“What else could you ask for? A fan girl like you, dating your desires.” Missy smiled. She knew how it felt. Even though she had known Bam since grade school, she had always felt kind of fan girlish about the skater.
“A cold beer is what else I could ask for, Miss.” Both of the girls laughed.
“Bam's got that shit all out in the radio room. Let's go find your toy and head out there.”

Grabbing Chad's hand, they both walked across the semi dead grass to the old barn. The summer sun was warm on Emily's pale skin, turning it sunburn red. A blast of cold greeted the couple as they walked into the radio room.
“Hey Emily!” Bam smiled and gave her a hug.
“Why are you so happy?” He asked.
“Why are you so lovey dovey?” She smiled.
“Bam, let Emily on the radio and we will tell you why.” Chad stated, sitting down at the table breaking up some weed.
“Sure, it's probably going to be us four anyways.” Bam sighed.
~
The starting sweeper played, Emily could hear Bam's voice in the headset introducing everyone, but paused when he got to her.
“And someone you have never heard before, Emily Ginsburg. A writer.” Bam said.
“Yeah, thanks.” Emily smiled as she rolled her eyes.
“Chad said that he would tell me something if I put her on. So spill it Chad.” Emily took a hit off of Chad's bowl and looked at him.
“I love her, Bam.” Bam glanced between all three of them as Emily exhaled.
“Wow. I didn't think it was that big. I thought you would have told me that she's back doing heroin.”
“Thanks Bam.” Emily grumbled.
“Uh, let's take some calls.” Missy stated, trying to lighten the mood a bit more.
“We have Hallie, from Oregon on line 2.” Chad stated and put her on.
“Emily, I love your writing. I've even read your fanfiction about Chad! How did you guys meet?” Hallie asked.
“Through fanfiction.”
“Wow. Congrats!”
“Thanks?” Emily answered back a bit confused.
The next phone call was for Bam.
“Bam, is she fly?” the man asked.
“What?”
“Emily, is she good looking.” Chad hung up on him.
“I think that it is time to take a break. Chad track three.” Bam said.
As the music played Bam looked at the both of them. A mixture of being shocked and happy being present on his face.
“I didn't think that you two were that serious.” Bam said.
“Bam, remember about 8 months ago, you called Chad and asked him if he wanted to come to a party at your house?” Emily asked.
“Yeah, I think. Why?”
“Remember the company he said that he had?”
“Yeah? What about it.”
“That company was me.”
“Woah, woah, woah. You guys have been together for eight months?” Bam asked, almost as if he had been denied something.
“Yeah. Long time to me dealing with a rock star huh?” Emily chuckled.
“Why didn't I know about this?”
“Missy did.” Chad spoke up.
“She was the first one Emily met of my friends.” Bam looked at Missy.
“And you didn't tell me why?” He asked.
“Because you weren't interested in Chad's new girlfriend, until you actually met her.” Missy responded.
“Yeah, because Gina wasn't all that interesting.” Bam replied.
“Woah, woah, woah!” Emily yelled, mocking Chad.
“You really did date a Gina?” She asked.
“Yeah. She wasn't a drug addict though, but she did look like one.” Chad put on his headset to signal the song was almost over. He grabbed Emily's hand and smiled.
