"How many cars do you have?" Carrie asked curiously as Kelly pulled the jeep in front of the house next to Jason's black Cadillac.
"A few I guess," she shrugged.
"You guess?" Carrie laughed, running a hand over the car. "What's this one?"
"The Batmobile," Kelly replied.
"The what?" she grinned.
"The Batmobile," she repeated. "It's a Cadillac convertible. Technically I bought if for Jason, but since he drives me everywhere it's pretty much mine too."
"What else you got?"
"Well, there's Apollo."
"Wait a minute...wait...weren't you the one teasing Jason a while back for naming his tractor Lucy?"
"Yea."
"But you see no problem in naming your cars?"
"They're my babies," she smiled. "They have to have names."
"Alright," Carrie laughed. "And what's Apollo?"
"The Range Rover," Kelly explained. "And honestly, I can't remember if it's in L.A. or Nashville."
"What? Seriously? You lost a Range Rover?"
"I didn't lose it. It was just supposed to be moved to Nashville after we moved all my music stuff there, I'm just not sure if it happened yet. I guess we'll find out tomorrow."
"What else you got?" Carrie asked, linking their hands together as Kelly brought them into the garage.
"Well, there's the Mustang from Idol," she nodded over to the convertible she had won.
"For some reason, I thought you had a pink one."
Kelly laughed, "Yea, Ford gave it to me as a thank you for some campaign stuff I did for them."
"What happened to it?"
"I gave it to Ashley," she shrugged. "She drives it when she's at her place in L.A."
"What's that?" Carrie asked, pointing to a beat up looking vehicle.
Kelly grinned, "Now that...that's my baby."
"And what's it's name?"
"Baby."
"Should I be jealous?"
"I don't know, I was riding that thing long before I even knew who you were."
Carrie's jaw dropped, and Kelly laughed, wrapping her arms around her waist.
"You're lucky I love you," Carrie pouted.
"Don't I know it," Kelly smiled, kissing her.
Carrie sighed, pulling back.
Kelly hugged her side tightly.
"So what's its back story?"
"That is my Ford Explorer," Kelly explained.
"Really?" Carrie asked. "The one you nearly died in?"
"The very one," Kelly nodded.
"Wow. I owe my life to that thing."
"Well, if you want to repay it, it could really use a washing."
"How about I repay it by Christening it's back seat," she raised an eyebrow.
Kelly scrunched her nose, "That's not exactly sanitary. That thing's so nasty."
Carrie laughed, "Never mind...oh, what's that?"
Kelly grinned as she led Carrie over to the car she was pointing at, "This is Charlie. He is a Chevrolet Chevelle."
"He is hot," Carrie replied, running a head over the red hood, looking inside at the black leather interior. "New idea."
"Yea?"
"Every car."
Kelly raised an eyebrow, "Even the Explorer?"
"We'll wash it first."
"We'll add it to the list," she nodded.
"This one is definitely first, though," Carrie licked her lips as she looked at the old car, nodding. "Definitely. And last too."
"You really like that car, huh?"
"I think I'll like it even more with you in the backseat."
"Really?" Kelly asked, stepping forward and placing both of her hands on either side of Carrie's hips, against the car's driver side door.
Carrie nodded again, biting down on her bottom lip.
"You know we've got to be getting some sleep, right?" Kelly asked, watching as Carrie watched her intently.
"Can this car come to Nashville?"
"I'm sure we can work something out," Kelly smiled as Carrie placed her hands on the Texan's waist.
"Good, cause I really really want you, but I am really really tired."
Kelly laughed, "Me too. Come on. There's always time for that later, but sleep, that's a rare thing in our world."
Carrie nodded, yawning as Kelly led her by the hand back into the house and up to their room for what might be their last good night's sleep for God knows how long.

Jason chanced a glance in the rearview mirror as he drove them to the airport. Kelly's face was set, clearly lost in thought, but somewhat determined. She hadn't spoken but a few words all morning. He was never sure how to handle this side of her. She had always been an extremely vocal person, whether out of happiness or emotion, she was normally hard to quiet down. But every now and then when she'd get like this, he was at a loss as to how to get to her.
He pulled the car to a stop at a red light, looking in the mirror once more, watching as Carrie placed her hand softly on Kelly's upper arm, rubbing it affectionately as she whispered something in her ear. Kelly smiled. It wasn't a huge grin or anything. It was soft, but it lit up her eyes so spectacularly that Jason found himself smiling as well as his eyes went back to the road when the light turned green.
He had never known someone that could affect his little sister like Carrie could. With just a few words, or a touch, or even just a look, the country singer could turn Kelly's entire world right side up. Sure, every now and then on a long day, she might run into a fan that would tell her how much her music meant to them, and she'd all of a sudden be rejuvenated, but never had someone been able to do it so consistently and so thoroughly.
Jason stopped at another red light, watching in the mirror as Carrie placed a finger on Kelly's jaw turning her face towards her. Kelly's smile grew to match the blonde's staring back at her. Neither said anything. They weren't even touching except for Carrie's finger which traced a line down Kelly's jaw, but both girl's eyes radiated so much joy that Jason wished his mom could see them like this. If only she could see these little moments that he watched them share everyday, then maybe she'd understand. She'd have to.

"So, what's the plan, Stan?" Einar laughed at his own joke as they unloaded the various vehicles they had drove to the airport in.
"No plan," Kelly shook her head. "We go in there. We fly to Nashville. We get some rest. Then we start rehearsals for the most kick ass show ever."
The bassist smiled, nodding his head in agreement, "Yea buddy."
"Kelly," her brother frowned worriedly.
"No," she shook her head again, lowering her voice. "No more of that secret jet, hiding out, disguise, bull shit. I'm not hiding anymore. I refuse to."
Carrie smiled, "Me too."
Kelly smiled back, giving her a wink as she grabbed her bag, "Besides, with all y'all it's like Carrie and I have six body guards, so it's not like anything's going to happen."
"Super Deaner to the rescue!" Chris announced, puffing out his chest, and holding his fist in the air as if he were about to take off for flight.
Kelly laughed.
"Hey, does that mean we get like black shirts that say security on them?"
"Don't you already have one?"
"Not an official one," he shook his head.
"Yea," Cory agreed. "And one of those neat little ear pieces like the CIA have."
"Why don't you just use an in-ear monitor?" Carrie asked.
Deaner rolled his eyes, "She's a girl. She doesn't get it."
"And it's not like anyone's going to be at this airport anyway," Kelly reminded. "It's a small airport that the paparazzi won't feel is up to their standards, so they'll just wait in the Nashville one."
"And when we get there?"
"If they get too rough, y'all have my full permission to take them down," she smiled.
"Bam!" Einar cheered giving Cory and Deaner a high five.
"You have to encourage them, don't you?" her musical director asked with a laugh.
"Please, you know we've never had as much fun as we've had with this group."
"True," he nodded, watching as Aben snuck up behind Deaner, jumping on his back, yelling "Practice drill!"
"Take him down boss!" Einar cheered as the two musicians play wrestled .
"Children!" Kelly called out, as Carrie laughed beside her. "We've got to get going or we're going to miss the flight."
