++++++++++

"But the struggles make me stronger,

And the changes make me wise,

And happiness has its own way

Of takin its sweet time."

"Something tells me you didn't go to bed at 9:30," Kelly laughed at Alex who kept yawning as they sat around the living room.

Alex looked at Jason.

"Jay?"

"What?" he held up his hands in innocence. "You try saying no to that face."

Kelly laughed, shaking her head, "Alright, sleepy head, what do you want to do today?"

"Will you sing?" Alex asked hopefully.

"Well, what do you want me to sing?"

"One of your songs."

"Well, I've been meaning to record a better demo for one of my new songs. You want to help me out?"

"Yea," Alex nodded excitedly.

"Cool. You can be my new producer."

"I'm sure Clive will love that," Carrie smiled.

"Speaking of," Kelly rolled her eyes as she silenced her phone which began to ring once more. "Anyway, you ready munchkin?"

"Yea," Alex replied quickly, standing on the sofa, holding her arms out for Kelly to carry her.

"You can walk, you know," Kelly laughed, picking her up.

"But this takes less time."

"How so?"

"Well, your legs are longer than mine so you can walk faster," she pointed out.

"Very true," Kelly nodded as she made her way up to her in home studio, Carrie right behind her.

"So...what do you think?" Kelly asked as the sound of the song faded in her earphones.

Alex scrunched up her nose from the other side of the glass panel, "I think you can do better."

"Really?" Kelly laughed.

"Yea, you're holding back," she said matter-of-factly.

"Did Carrie tell you to say that?" Kelly asked, noticing the blonde laughing from where she sat next to Alex.

"No, I can tell."

"You do know this is just a demo, right? It doesn't have to be perfect."

"That doesn't mean you shouldn't try."

"I am trying."

Alex raised her eyebrows.

"She's tough," Kelly said to Carrie.

"She'd make a damn good producer," Carrie replied.

"Alright shorty," Kelly smiled. "One more time."

"Hit it," Alex instructed Carrie.

"So..."

"It'll do," Alex nodded.

"I'll take that," Kelly laughed, hanging the headphones on the microphone before walking out of the recording booth. "So, who's hungry?"

Carrie raised her hand, but Alex's smile fell.

"Really?" Kelly asked. "Cause I was thinking of some ice cream."

Alex fought with herself before replying, "Maybe just a little."

"Deal," Kelly nodded, holding out her hand which she immediately took. "You got it?" she asked, turning to Carrie.

"Done," Carrie nodded, taking a CD out of the computer and putting it in a case. "Where do you want it?"

"You can just leave it here," she replied.

Carrie placed the CD on the desk by the computer before following the two of them out into the hall.

Kelly groaned as her phone rang.

"Why don't you just answer it?" Carrie suggested.

"Because I shouldn't have to," Kelly replied, looking at it.

"Kelly, it could be important. Go ahead," Carrie insisted. "Alex and I will explore this huge ass place of yours."

"You said..." Alex began.

Carrie rolled her eyes, taking Alex's hand, "I know what I said. How come you never fuss at Kelly for cursing. She curses more in a week than I will in my entire life."

"Because I expect more from you," Alex replied as they walked away, making Kelly laugh as she answered her phone.

"Hello."
