night time talks

Carrie's pov





Carrie stole another glance to her left with an amused look on her face. To her right she could feel Kelly sliding down further in her seat as sleep took over her body.



'I doubt she slept at all last night.......'Carrie turned back to her left to see Jeanne leaning over her to look at her daughter.



'She's had a lot on her mind.........'Carrie explained. 'Plus she's always like this on planes..........'



'So what's this LA thing about?........Kelly says your in meetings or something.........'



When Kelly had told Carrie that Jeanne wanted to join them on their trip to la she had wanted to laugh and ask what the trick was but Jeanne really seemed to be trying.



'Yea meetings........'



'For your album?.......' Carrie stole a look at Kelly to see if she was awake, something was making Jeanne act so nice.



'Something like that..........'



'Listen Carrie.......'Jeanne turned to lean into Carrie more. 'Kelly told me about your troubles.........' Carrie could feel herself gripping the seat without even thinking about it.



'She did?........' She kept her eyes forward, not trusting herself to look at Jeanne or Kelly without lashing out.



'I just think it's pretty horrible thing to do.........I mean your first album made them a lot of money and.........'



'I thought you didn't listen to my album?........' she had to look now, to see what Jeanne's face looked like. The older woman was blushing. It made Carrie feel a little better about herself.



'I've heard a few things.......'Jeanne stuttered back.



'You've been listening to my album?........'If Carrie could have gotten out her seat and done a victory dance she would have.



'I might have........'Jeanne wasn't finding anything amusing now. 'I mean it's nothing like Kelly's.......but I guess it's OK........'



'Yea yea OK Jeanne.........don't strain yourself.........I promise not to tell anyone........it can be our little secret.........' Carrie patted her mother in laws hand.



'I really don't know what my daughter sees in you.........' Before Carrie could answer Kelly stirred in her seat as she opened her eyes.



'Did we land?.........'



'No baby......still in the air.........' Carrie leaned over to give her wife a kiss on the cheek. She had to smile to herself, knowing last week she wouldn't have dreamed of showing any kind of affection in public with Jeanne only inches away.



'What did I miss.......' Kelly stretched.



'Oh nothing much.........'Carrie mused as she peeked to see Jeanne looking at her. 'Just chatting about La..........oh and your mother admitted she's my number one fan..........'



'Oh I did not.........'





Kelly's pov





Kelly looked over Carrie's shoulder to see her mother blushing.



'Kelly she's making it up.........'



'I am not........you listened to my album.......'Carrie was smiling proudly.



'I listened to it once........once Kelly.......'Jeanne was no leaning over Carrie to look at Kelly.



'OK mom........'Kelly sent Carrie a look to let her know I believed her and not my mother.



'Once......'Jeanne snapped at Carrie before turning in her seat leaving both singers giggling together.
