She's Holding On My Heart
Sorry to tell you this but you’re huge
It had been a month since Katie had found out about her pregnancy and she still hadn’t plucked up the courage to confront Billie Joe.
He had gone on tour a week ago and she didn’t have the nerve to tell him over the phone. It just didn’t feel right. So here she sat in the house that she shared with her boyfriend whom she loved, four months pregnant and alone, knowing that she wouldn’t see him for at least another two months…
*2 months later*
“So he’s coming home today?” Cheryl, a friend Katie had made in one of her anti-natal classes, asked.
“Yep.”
“And you still haven’t told him?”
“Nope.”
“Listen sweetie, I’m really sorry to tell you this but you’re huge.”
“And your point is…”
“He’s going to find out as soon as he sees you, and I don’t think he’s gonna believe that you’ve been comfort eating to get over the sadness of not being with him”
“He’s not gonna have to find out himself. I’m going to tell him…”
Cheryl raised her eyebrow sceptically.
“…I am! I swear!”
“Tell me again why haven’t you told him yet?”
“I was scared and then he went on tour… it just didn’t seem write to tell him something this life-changing over the phone!”
“He would’ve come home if you’d have asked him to,” she argued.
“Exactly… I mean I didn’t want to worry him, for all I know he would have cancelled the tour to be here with me. I didn’t want that…”
Cheryl looked down towards her watch, “I gotta go, but listen, if you were right at the beginning, you know about him not wanting children yet, its too late now to go back now”
“I know… but if he loves me like he tells me he does then he will want this as much as me.”
“Okay, I’l see ya later, tell me how it goes” the two pregnant women hugged and Cheryl left.
An hour later the doorbell rang…
“Shit he’s early! Fuck!” Katie adjusted her baggy jumper, disguising her protruding belly.
