"Why do you have to pack so much! It's Vegas. We'll be there in like four hours!" Frank was sitting on Ville's bed watching him pack for the trip to Las Vegas.
"Because we're going to be there at least one day, maybe two or three. I'm not going to spend that whole time in this." Ville sighed and gestured to the skinny black jeans and AFI shirt he was wearing.
"Davey packed less that you, you fucking girl." Frank huffed.
"Fuck you." Ville said half-heartedly. He was thinking about Bam again. The dreams wouldn't stop. His former love kept coming to him in his sleep and they would sit and talk sometimes, or fuck, but Davey was always there too. Ville was so confused by the whole situation.
"Ville? Hello? Are you still there?" Frank waved his hand in front of Ville's face.
"What?" Ville snapped with a shake of his head to clear out some of the fog.
"It's time to go. Roxy said get in the car or we're leaving without you." Frank rolled his eyes and left the room, tramping down the stairs, "Yeah, he just had to pack a few extra pairs of panties."
"Fuck off!" Ville called down and threw his bag over his shoulder, following Frank down the stairs.
"Baby, you know I love it when you look good and all that," Davey stood on his toes so he could kiss Ville's cheek on their way out the front door, "But I think I'm with Frankie on this one. You take too long to pack."
Ville flipped off Frank as he stuck his tongue out at him, "Can we get going?"
"Finally?" Roxy said, grinning and shoving Ville lightly, "Get in the car diva."
Ville stuck his tongue out at Roxy, "May I ask why we're staying at the Belagio when we're not going for the sights?"
"Frankie's never stayed in one of the swanky hotels. Would you deny a boy his first time in a five diamond hotel?"
"No, but, the Belagio?"
"I can't stand the Egyptian theme at the Luxor and Excalibur is just as bad. THEHotel has a stupid name and Mandalay Bay associates with them. The ceiling in Paris makes me dizzy and Caesar’s Palace is where I used to stay with Jean Claude." Roxy said, peeling out of the driveway, narrowly missing the mailman, "I didn't see you booking any rooms, so the Belagio is where we're staying." she looked at him in the rearview mirror.
Ville rolled his eyes, "Whatever. I was only wondering." He looked out the window as Upland rolled by on their way to the 210, "So Frankie, you never explained who that guy was with the maniac."
Frank shifted uncomfortably in his seat. It was going to be a long ride, "He was a friend from before I was a vampire."
"Looked like more than a friend to me." Ville prodded.
"It's none of your goddamn business!" Frank snapped.
"Definitely more than a friend." Ville said with a nod, "Could he be the reason our Frankie doesn't believe in relationships? Did he break your..." he trailed off at the look of pain in Frank's eyes and the car got uncomfortably silent.
Roxy heaved a loud sigh and turned up the radio so that Agnostic Front prevented any further conversation.
"Hey guys?" Frank shouted over The Faint as they hit the 15 freeway.
Roxy turned down the stereo, "Yeah Frankie?"
"Do you think we could go to the Grand Canyon?" he asked shyly.
Roxy looked over at him in the review mirror, "Why do you want to go to the Grand Canyon? There aren't any clubs."
Frank rolled his eyes at her, "I know that. I've just, never been."
She shrugged, "Sure. We can go on the way back."
Las Vegas was like an aging stripper. At night she was the star of the stage, attracting men with her best bangles and sparkly g-strings, face hidden by layers of makeup as she gyrated around a pole trying desperately to be everything you ever dreamed of. During the day she was an ordinary soccer mom. Mother of two, every flaw exposed to the harsh desert sun, no longer worried about impressing anyone.
At night, Vegas was all neon and glitter. By day it was a dusty beige desert town.
They came up on the strip just after the sun went down and the lights flickered on.
Ville laughed as Frank pressed his face against the window trying to stare at everything at once, "I almost forgot how pretty this place is at night." Bam had loved Vegas.
Frank looked over at Ville, "I haven't been here since I was turned. It's amazing!" he looked back out the window.
Davey looked around in wonder as well, "It's so beautiful." he said, grabbing Ville's hand.
They made the slow crawl down the strip, choked with traffic at any hour of the day. When they came upon the Belagio, Ville couldn't help but look up at the acres of white and gold reaching to the sky. It was a beautiful building and even though they had missed the fountain show, the giant lake on the front grounds was still a lovely sight.
Frank was watching the street and the people walking by when he gasped, "I want one of those!" he said pointing at a guy carrying a drink so big it needed a neck strap.
"Why would anyone need a drink that big?" Davey asked himself, shaking his head.
"Excuse me Mr. Straight Edge, but that isn't just a drink. It's a challenge." Frank bounced in his seat.
"How many of those are you planning on having?" Ville asked with a laugh.
"I'm never going to be able to look at myself in the mirror unless I can finish three." Frank said, still bouncing excitedly.
Roxy swung the car into a parking space on the roof and shut off the car, "All right, everyone get the fuck out. We've got to go check in and then we have to go find this Benny guy."
Ville unfolded himself from the car and stretched, popping several of his vertebra, "I haven't been here in forever!" he groaned.
"I remember." Roxy said with a laugh as they walked across the roof to the elevator, "You and Bam got wasted and went for a swim in the fountain. We all got dressed up as Elvis for Rabb's vow renewal and we got so trashed the Aladdin asked us to leave and never come back." she kissed Jade lightly as he held open the door for her, "Thanks love."
Frank gaped at Ville "You used to be fun?"
"Used to?" Ville smacked Frank, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"You're boring."
"I am not!" Ville said, thoroughly offended.
"Of course not Baby." Davey agreed, leaning on him.
"Oh yeah?" Frank said as the door opened and they spilled out into the lobby, "A challenge then. You, me, that." he pointed to a man who had one of the gigantor drinks.
"Bitch I am from Finland!" Ville said, "I can drink more at dinner than you did the day you turned 21. You're on Jersey Boy!"
Roxy shook her head and she and Jade walked over to the front desk to check in.
"Baby, can you and Frankie do this after we find Benny please?" Davey asked, stepping between Frank and Ville before they could come to blows.
"No way. I think we need to prove this shit right now. If this Finish fuck is going to talk shit about Jersey again-" Frank's phone rang and after staring at it for a moment, not recognizing the number, "Hello?"
Ville raised an eyebrow after Frank as he left abruptly, talking on the phone in a quiet voice, "What the hell?"
Davey looked puzzled as well, "Must have been something really important."
"I guess." Ville put his arm around Davey and they joined Roxy and Jade at the check-in counter.
"I booked three rooms." Roxy said, and it sounded like it wasn't the first time she'd relayed this information.
"Yes Ma'am, we only have you booked for a suite though." the woman behind the counter said in bored tones. She'd seen Roxy and Jade's tight jeans and their band shirts, and decided that she didn't have to pay attention to a couple of punks who were probably just going to raid the minibar and not tip room service.
Roxy pulled the confirmation paper out of her purse and handed it to the clerk, "I should have three rooms."
Ville cringed at her tone of voice and wondered briefly if Roxy was going to eat the woman later. He put his arm around Davey and tugged him away, "Come on. I don't think we want to see this."
Davey looked up at Ville with wide eyes, "What's she going to do?"
Ville laughed, "Nothing that awful! But have you ever heard her destroy someone's self esteem? It's not pretty."
Davey relaxed visibly and looked past Ville to the ceiling and gasped, "Wow. That's amazing." he said of the intricate blown glass flowers hanging from the roof.
"Isn't it?" Ville said, looking up with him. He bent and kissed Davey lightly, memories threatening to choke him.
"Baby!" Bam looked around quickly to see if anyone had seen them kissing in the middle of the lobby and the Belagio. For once, it looked like there were no photographers or fangirls anywhere and he sighed heavily, instantly regretting his actions at the hurt look in his lover's eyes, "I'm sorry Baby, but you know I, can't." he hung his head.
Ville, willing to play the part for his boyfriend, nudged him on the shoulder with his, "I know love." he grinned at him and picked up Roxy as she came back from the desk, "All set my darling?"
Roxy giggled and slapped at Ville, "Yes! Now put me down!"
He set her on her feet and slung an arm around Bam and Roxy's shoulders.
Bam looked up with a quiet breath, "God that's beautiful."
Ville was staring at Bam, "Yeah." he said softly.
"So I'm going to go find me something, else to do." Roxy said, slipping out from under Ville's arm and handing him a card key, "There you go. I'll be back in a few hours." she winked at them before flouncing off.
"Hey stay away from Dunn!" Bam called after her, to which she only replied with a short wave.
"You know she's not going hurt him. She just likes pissing him off." Ville tugged Bam toward the elevator, "Besides, I don't want to think about them. I want to make love to you in our suite at least twice before Roxy gets back.
Bam grinned and held open the door for Ville, "Really? Only twice? You're getting old."
"Oh you think so?" Ville growled and jumped on Bam, chewing on his neck, "I'll show you who's getting old!" he shoved Bam against the wall of the elevator and kissed him deeply just as the doors slid shut, letting his tongue dominate the skater's mouth, making the shorter man moan and clutch him closer.
Reaching behind himself, Ville hit the button for their floor, moving his lips from Bam's to his jaw, down his neck, running his tongue under the collar of his Element shirt.
"Baby? Ville!" Davey poked him in the ribs.
"What?" Ville rubbed his side.
"We're leaving space cadet. Roxy decided that we're going to stay at the MGM instead and I think that clerk is going to cry." Davey was trying not to snicker.
Ville rolled his eyes and grabbed his bags, looking around, "Frank?"
Davey shrugged and walked over to Roxy and Jade, "We've lost Frankie."
"Where'd he go?" Jade asked, looking around the lobby.
"We seem to be saying that a lot lately." Ville said, also looking around.
