Driving to London
Trent stood at the side of the stage, watching the last of their production get loaded up into crates, then pushed out of sight to the tour buses. He looked down at his watch to see it read 1:47am. A sigh escaped his lips as he thought about the next three days, and what the hell he was going to do with them...
Emma slung her bags over her left shoulder, grabbing her purse and the bottle of water she was drinking as she checked to make sure she wasn't leaving anything behind. She caught her own eye in the mirror again, stopping to look at herself.
She saw the dark circles under her eyes, not able to tell if it was make up or her skin.
"You need to sleep." She said aloud, then turned to leave the room.
She walked thru the tiny hallway, saying goodbye to people on her way out as they came her way. She made her way out to the stage to see it was empty again. Another night finished, 20 more or so to go. The thought of about 20 more shows filled her with excitement, and she smiled to herself as she adjusted the bags on her shoulder to be more comfortable. Emma looked around the corner to see Trent standing there, watching the last of the crew closing everything up.
"Hey." Emma spoke as she neared him, the tickly-fluttery feeling returning to her limbs and stomach.
Trent turned to see Emma with all of her things. "Hey Emma."
"You ready to go?" She asked, stopping near him.
He looked out at the stage again, thinking about the next three days. "Yeah, I'm really tired."
Emma smiled and nodded. "Yeah, me too." She gazed at him as he looked out at the empty stage. She could tell he was exhausted, his expression somber and calm. "Well let's go guy." She urged herself to put a hand on his shoulder as she walked passed him to lead the way to the bus.
Trent fluttered inside at the feel of her hand slowly sliding across his shoulder as she walked ahead. He watched her walk away, her hourglass shape holding his gaze as he followed behind her.
Emma and Trent climbed into the bus, heading to their bunks to unload their things. Emma slide her bags into the compartment above her bunk, setting her purse on her bed and then sitting down. Trent's bunk was across from hers, the space between them very minimal. He was waiting for her to get settled in before he set his stuff down.
"Sorry, lemme take off my shoes real quick-" Emma hurried and kicked her shoes off and under her bunk to get out of the walkway so Trent had room to put his stuff away. "There." She pulled her legs up to her chest as she sat on her bed.
"It's alright." Trent looked down at her. "I know you like my ass in your face." He smiled as he turned away from her to shove his bags in the compartment above his bunk.
Emma laughed. "Oh my god. You know I do."
"I knew you weren't a lesbo." Brent squeezed passed Trent on his way to the back of the bus. "Wanna-be."
"Pfft, yer just jealous cause I have Trent ass in my face right now you gaylord." Emma spat back with an evil smile.
"Aw mean." Brent glanced back playfully sad before he disappeared behind the curtain/wall to the back.
Trent just laughed. He didn't hear the word gaylord very often and it was very funny to him right then.
"God." Emma continued to be fake-mad. She then smiled and laid back on her bunk, stretching and yawning. "Ohhhhh godddd I am ready to go to sleep now."
Trent sat down on his bed and looked at Emma. Her shirt had lifted a tad to expose her stomach. He got a quick glimpse of another tattoo she had that wrapped around from her back to the front of her left hip. It was a branch of cherry blossoms that started at the back of her right shoulder and cascaded down to her lower left back, then ending on the front of her hip. She had told him it was kind of for her parents/kind of something that looked really cool. Her parent's were Buddhist, and the cherry blossom was a significant symbol in Buddhism.
"Are you gonna stay up for a while right now?" Emma rolled over onto her side to face him.
"Um..." He wasn't sure. He was tired, but at the same time restless. "I don't know. Are you?"
"I think I'm gonna sleep till we get to the city. My back is kind of sore." Emma's shirt again lifted as she rubbed her back, revealing the skin of her stomach again. Trent didn't like oogling her, but couldn't control his gaze. He blinked, trying to reset his eyes and looked down the walkway at Alessandro's bunk. It was empty.
"I dunno where he is." Trent spoke.
"Eh, whatev." Emma lay back on her back again. "I want to sleep but I am awake." She turned her head to look at him. "You want to watch a movie?"
Trent thought that would be perfect for their 3 and a half hour drive to London. "Yeah, what movie?" He asked.
Emma was growing excited at the prospect of him and her hanging out alone, watching a movie, sitting close... she decided she wanted to watch Judge Dredd. She had found it at a random store they had stopped at for a couple bucks a couple weeks back and hadn't had the chance to watch it yet.
"You want to watch Judge Dredd?" She asked him excitedly, knowing he wouldn't.
"Oh my god no." He scoffed.
"C'mon, I haven't had the chance to watch it yet!" Emma whined and sat up. "It'll make you fall asleep and that's kinda the point right?" She tried to sell him the Judge Dredd dream.
Trent rolled his eyes. "God, I guess. I shouldn't have asked you." He shook his head as he stood up. "You enjoy the most horrible movies."
"Aw dang, that's mean." She looked up at him as she got up to find it in her bag. "It's not THAT bad."
"Um yes. Yes it is." He corrected her.
Emma ignored him and pulled her bag out of the compartment/shelf. "No it's not. It's got Sylvester Stallone, Diane Lane, and there's flying cars, talking garbage cans... even talking guns! C'mon." She yanked it out from the bottom of her bag and smiled as she held it up to revel in its beauty. She turned to Trent as she held it over her face. " 'I didn't break the law, I AM THE LAW!' " She mocked the deep Stallone voice.
Trent laughed heartily as he turned away from her to go to the little entertainment room of the bus.
Emma smiled at his laughter and followed him. "See, I told you it's cool." She said. She quietly admired the nice jeans he was wearing, covering her flushed cheeks with the DVD as she watched him walk.
Trent sat down on the empty couch and watched Emma put the movie into the Xbox 360. They didn't have a DVD player but did bring every game console to man. They had a PS2 and 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Gamecube (this was also purchased at random by Emma in Europe somewhere), a Sega Genesis with Sega CD hook up. Emma and Alessandro found it at a fair somewhere in Spain and bought it. They only had two games for it, Sewer Shark and Sonic, but it was still cool.
"Where's the remote?" Emma asked as she looked around the TV.
"I dunno." Trent shrugged. He looked around him on the couch. Not seeing anything, he dug around in between the cushions.
Emma found it behind the Wii. "Got it." She turned the TV on and plopped down next to Trent. She sat close enough to guarantee the occasional and semi-often brush against his arm.
Trent didn't turn his head but he looked down to see how close she was sitting, their legs less than a centimeter apart. The couch was actually a love seat type of deal, so her being so close wasn't strange... but she could sit farther if she wanted to he thought. It made his heart beat faster.
He then looked at the screen and remembered what they were going to watch and sighed.
Emma heard the sigh and looked at him. "You know you like this movie."
"Just hit play." He said. He brought his left leg up and under his right, laying his arms along the back of the couch.
The movie started, the intro scrolling and speaking the demise of the earth and the uprising of the judges, etc.
Emma quoted along with the movie as the beginning schpeel ended. "'They were the judges.'" She said in a deep voice.
"Do you really know this movie word for word?" Trent looked at her as he asked.
"Uh, yeah?" Emma answered very sarcastically.
"You know this movie is nothing like the comics." Brett walked in from the back of the bus, looking at them on the couch. "He never takes his helmet off in the comic."
Emma scoffed. "Comic books are dumb."
"Yer dumb." Brett offered back.
"I'm trying to watch a movie, yer being very rude." Emma argued. "Go away."
He looked at Trent sympathetically. "Your really kind to stay with her, supporting her during this travesty of a film."
"I do what I can." Trent smirked, knowing Emma was growing more and more furious with each comment.
Emma paused the movie and looked at Brett. "Look guy. I like this movie. There are doods in huge armor, with big guns that say things, and I want to watch it. With out you talking. So please go away your being a dick." She sat back in the couch and unpaused the movie.
Brett laughed. "God. It's awesome that you like this movie solely for the talking guns." He walked passed the TV and out to the front of the bus.
Trent looked at Emma who was smiling a small smile, but not responding to Brett anymore. Her eyes were glued to the movie.
He looked to see Rob Schneider being captured by crazy doods and realized there were about 80 more minutes of this. He settled into the couch and watched.
Emma slung her bags over her left shoulder, grabbing her purse and the bottle of water she was drinking as she checked to make sure she wasn't leaving anything behind. She caught her own eye in the mirror again, stopping to look at herself.
