Flashback
Carrie sat back against the bed as she watched Kelly typing away quickly at the computer in front of her. It still amazed her after six months together she was still learning new things about the blond Texan.
'So even at 5am?......'
'And 6 and 7....whenever I need to.'
'But...kel...how...how do you even wake up?' Carrie sat watching as her girlfriend but her full focus on the computer in front of her.
'An idea comes and I wake up......i have to write.....'
'Your crazy....' Carrie laughed as she lay back down against the warm pillows.
End of Flashback.
Carrie's pov.
Carrie lay in the dark watching the back of her wifes head as she hunched over the computer desk. She had been laying in bed for the past hour just watching listening as Kelly completely engrossed herself in the task in front of her. Carrie had spent so many hours just watching as Kelly poured her heat into her writing, she watched as Kelly cried got angry and jumped for joy as she finished another great song.
The night before's drinking was now coming back to haunt her but she was to afraid to make a noise in case Kelly became aware of the fact that she was watching her. Every key she hit made Carrie's head ache just a little bit more. She tried to remember what had happened last night but nothing only small parts were coming back, She remembered sitting with Kate at the bar but anything else really wasn't coming back to her. The fact that she was laying in their bed was a sign that things didn't go so bad. She watched as Kelly stopped typing as she stretched her arms high above her head, she so wanted to climb out the bed and rub away the pain her wife must have been feeling. Instead she lay still closing her eyes as she drifted off into sleep again.
Kelly's pov.
She sat alone in the kitchen enjoying the early morning before her mother would wake. She had been up since 5am writing, an idea stuck in her head since her talk with Carrie in Shelby's room. Her mind drifted back to last night hearing Carrie say I love you. It had been months since she had heard her, even longer since she believed it. Her mind didn't know how to process it, she didn't even know if Carrie meant it. Would she wake up and pretend it didn't happen. Kelly knew it was a great chance for them to begin talking, to get to the bottom of their problems and maybe begin to heal. Kelly was pulled from her thoughts by Graham.
'Writing?....' He stood in front of her in his boxers smiling down at her.
'You know me....'
'I do....' Graham sat beside her at the table. ' So....last night fun....' Kelly knew she shouldn't be sitting alone with, Carrie was only in the next room.
'Yea....Reba was on top form...' Kelly could feel Graham looking at her but not really listening to what she was saying. His eyes were burning into her. She was thankful when her mother entered the kitchen causing Graham to pull his eyes away from her.
'Feeling the heat there Graham...' Jeanne breezed into the kitchen in a very good mood.
'Yea i'll change.....' Graham made a quick bolt for the door a Jeanne stood laughing.
'He never changes that boy....'
'Please mom...it's to early for this...'
'What?......Kelly I have no idea what your talking about........' Kelly stood.
'This little fan club you have for Graham...we broke up over five yeas ago....im married....'
'I just think that if you and Graham would have not been apart so much you guys would have made it.....'
'Mom im married to Carrie...' Kelly stated again. ' And while we're at it...you dont even know why Graham and I broke up...if you did maybe you wouldnt be so for him...' Kelly didn't wait for an answer, anything her mother would say to her at that moment would only lead to a fight.
Flashback.
Kelly sat alone at the table in the club, Graham had just finished his set and was now entertaining his fans on a more personal basis. She all about being good with fans but Graham seemed to go over board with it, Especially if it was group of pretty girls. She could see it happening all over again, she had watched David be over nice with girls. Could she be so blind to let it happen again.
'Are you stalking me?...' Kelly was pulled from her thoughts by a pretty blond in front of her, it took her a moment to realize who it was.
'Carrie?.....'
'Yea... I think they call this fate...' Carrie slipped into the booth beside her.
'Fate?...' Kelly asked confused.
'Yea...i mean first we met in line....'
'My meet and great..'Kelly corrected with a smile.
'Fine your met and great......and now we bump into each other here....what's the chances?'
'Well since that was my concert I think the chances were pretty high....' Kelly smiled as she saw Carrie's cheeks turn red. ' and since this is my boyfriends gig im guessing the chances again are pretty high...' Carrie stole a quick glance at Graham in the corner as she giggled along with a cute blond.
'The hairy guys your boyfriend?.....'
'Seven months now....' Carrie looked back at Graham.
'But your cute....' Kelly covered her mouth.
'And?...
'And too cute for him......his league is the bar skank he's sitting with.....' Kelly looked over at Graham.
'And what's my league?....'she asked turning back to the blond beside her.
'I don't know....someone who wouldn't leave you alone in a dirty old bar......someone who would worship you....' Carrie shrugged as she took a drink from Kelly's glass, coughing she covered her mouth.... 'and maybe someone who can teach you how to order a proper drink....'
'Sorry I like it strong.......' she patted Carrie's back as Graham made his way towards them.
'Carrie Underwood...' He stood smiling. ' didnt know you were a fan....'
'Oh huge....cant get enough.' Graham stood nodding with the biggest smirk on his face.
'Very cool...'
'yea' carrie added. 'who doesn't love Kelly Clarkson...' Kelly tried not to smile as she watched her boyfriends ego deflate in front of them.
As the night went on Carrie and Kelly sat chatting while Graham busied himself with the girls around the bar. Kelly would steal a glance at him every now and then but she really didn't care what he was up to. Her mind was fully on the girl in front of her.
'So why him?...' Carrie leaned in close as she shouted over the music.
'Why not?....i guess he's my type...'
'Maybe you need a new type...' Carrie moved closer.
'And what's your type?..' Carrie thought for a moment.
'Someone cute and sweet I think......with killer eyes....' Kelly didn't answer, she watched as Carrie smiled at her, her eyes focusing on her own. She knew she was flirting with her, Kelly had heard rumors from people about the taller blond. She first thought it was gossip but was now thinking maybe there was some truth.
As the bar closed Graham had managed to pull himself way from this fans long enough to say goodbye to Carrie and leave with Kelly. While Graham drove them home Kelly's mind stayed on the blond, she was amazed she didn't feel any guilt about flirting, it felt like she was supposed to be doing that with Carrie. It now felt wrong that she was leaving with Graham, she felt like she should be with Carrie instead.
'So you and miss country seemed to hit it off...' Graham stole a glance at his girlfriend while he drove.
'I think we have a lot in common...'
'Hope not..'Graham laughed.
'And what does that mean?....'
'Well if rumors are true she's slept with every backup singer she's had, woman and men....' Kelly shook her head.
'I doubt that's true...she doesnt' seem the type...' Kelly felt angry with the way Graham was talking about her.
'Yea well watching you two talk tonight gave me a few ideas......'
'What kind of idea's?......' Kelly breathed a sigh of relief as the car pulled into her street.
'Well....you seemed into her......and I know she was into you....'
'And?...' Kelly was only half listening as she gathered her things from the car.
'And maybe...since my birthday is coming up you two could...i dont know.... maybe give me a gift....' Kelly turned looking at her boyfriend as she tried his best to smile sweetly.
'Like a song or something?...'
'No honey...' Graham smiled watching Kelly get more confused, ' I was thinking more a threesome....' Kelly sat frozen to the spots as she watched her boyfriend talk. She was sure she was going to be sick. Without even saying a word Kelly climbed out the car and moved fast into her house. She could her Graham calling after her but she ignored him. He had just ruined any kind of love she had for him and their relationship ended that night.
End of Flashback.
