Appologies

As the night went on Jo and David were drinking and talking, however they soon decided to move outside and stand talking on the low wall overlooking Cardiff Bay after the bar closed.

Jo jumped suddenly as she felt her phone vibrating in her pocket, rolling her eyes as she saw the caller ID.

"You can't ignore her forever." Reasoned David.

"Too bad." Shrugged Jo as she answered, quickly pulling the device away from her ear as a shrill scream that even David could hear emitted from it.

"Jo, thank fuck, where the hell are you? we'e been searching everywhere for you, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"No I'm fine." Said Jo rolling her eyes once more, earning her a smirk from David.

"Look Jemma, I'll be home in a bit, we'll talk then."

With that she hung up.

"You can't blame her for being worried." Said David, earning him a raised eyebrow from Jo.

"You're not very forgiving are you?" He asked.

Jo looked away from him and sighed. "Trust me if you knew half of what I've been through you'd understand why."

"You don't give much away do you?" Jo turned to look at him again.

"I can't help it I find it hard to trust people."

"You must trust me to a certain degree otherwise you wouldn't be here now."

Jo laughed. "I suppose. I never said I wasn't trying to work through it."

David smiled. "Come on, I'll walk you home. The last thing I want is Jemma sending the police out thinking someones abducted you..."

He stopped suddenly, earning him a confused look from Jo. "I better let John and Scott know I'm alright."

"Whoops!" Laughed Jo.

John hurriedly answered his phone and dashed outside. "David? You okay mate?"

"Yeah I'm fine," Came the reply. "ended up going for a drink with Jo."

"Oh yeah?" Smiled John suggestively before he was brought back to Earth with a bump.

"Don't even go there!"

"Sorry." He smiled sheepishly.

"Anyway I'll see you guys later."

"Bye mate." Said John as he hung up.

"Is he okay?" Asked Scott suddenly appearing at John's side making him jump.

"Yeah he's fine, come on the night is still young, let's carry on this party at home!" He smiled seductively and groped Scott's arse, earning him a cheeky smirk and a tap on his own arse in return.

"Well here we are." Said Jo as she and David stopped outside Paul and Jemma's house.

"Don't be too hard on her." Said David.

Jo rolled her eyes. "If she's willing to appologize I'm willing to listen before I slap her."

David looked at her disaprovingly. "Fine I won't slap her."

An awkward pause desecended which was finally broken by David.

"It was nice talking to you tonight, I was wondering if you fancied doing it again sometime."

Jo raised her eyebrows before a smile crossed her face. "Yeah why not."

David raised his eyebrows, clearly not the answer he was expecting. "Okay well when are you free?"

Jo rolled her eyes thoughtfully. "Well I have band practice for the next couple of days before we do a gig at Tiger Tiger on Friday, but I'm free afterwards"

"Okay, so how about we go out after the gig?"

"Yeah definetly, see you Friday." Smiled Jo.

David stood smiling as he watched her enter the house and then turned and headed back to his apartment, maybe things weren't going to go so badly for him after all.

Upon entering Jo was jumped on by Jemma.

"Thank God!" Screeched Jemma, alomst in tears as she grabbed Jo and pulled her into a tight bone crunching hug.

"Okay, okay, need breathing space here." Groaned Jo struggling to free herself.

"Where the hell have you been?"

"I was just round Cardiff with David, he walked me back."

Jemma raised her eyebrows and gave Jo a wierd look.

"Okay don't look at me like that, I'm only a year younger than you, you're not my mother."

Jemma looked abashed by Jo's snappiness.

"What's wrong with you?"

Jo laughed sarcasticaly. "What's wrong with me? Jemma you're acting like a total bunny boiler! First you tell a complete stranger about my past, then you treat me like a child."

"Okay I'm sorry about that but..."

"But nothing Jemma, I am not a vulnrable child who needs protecting, I'm quite capable of looking after myself. We're not eleven years old anymore."

Jemma sighed and

Jo's anger melted away and she gave Jemma a sad smile.

"Jemma, honey...I appriciate it but you're going about it the wrong way. I just need to deal with things in my own way."

Jemma nodded and looked at Jo with watering eyes. "I'm sorry chick."

Jo smiled sadly. "I'm sorry too."

The girls hugged each other, breaking apart after a moment.

"Fancy a hot chocolate before bed?"

Jo laughed and nodded. "The solution to all problems." She smiled.
