"Baby, I'm begging please,

And I'm down here on my knees.

I don't want to have to set you free,

Don't make me."

Kelly woke up in a cold sweat and shaking. It was pouring down raining outside, thunder echoing, even within the thick walls of the house. She looked to find herself alone in her bed. She sat up quickly, sighing as she noted her bathroom light was on, hinting as to where the country singer had gone. She got out of bed, wiping the sweat on her hands off on her jeans as she made her way across the room, her heart still beating quickly. She walked out into the hall to find Alex's door still open a hair, like she had left it. She quietly opened the door more, slipping inside.

Kelly felt her heart stop as she noticed the empty bed.

"Alex?" she called out nervously. "Alex?"

She saw the light coming through the bottom of the door that led to the bedroom's bathroom. She rushed across the room, taking a deep breath as she slowly pushed the door open. "Alex?"

"Oh God," Kelly breathed, finding Alex leaning over the toilet, heaving, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Sweetie?"

"I don't feel good," the small child shook her head, her body shaking.

Carrie walked out of the bathroom to find the bed empty.

"Kell?" she questioned, looking around. "Kelly?"

She noticed the door leading to the hall wide open, and she walked out and into Alex's room, "Kell?"

"Care!" she heard the Texan call out from the spare bathroom. Carrie rushed in to find Kelly sitting on the floor, cradling Alex in her arms, holding a damp cloth to her forehead, both of them extremely pale.

"Oh God," Carrie breathed.

"Baby," Kelly swallowed the lump rising in her throat. "I need you to go get Dr. Lansing...now."

Carrie nodded, running out the room.

"It's gonna be ok, munchkin," Kelly assured the fragile girl in her arms. "Don't worry."

"Kelly," she heard her whimper. "It hurts."

"I know it does sweetie," Kelly fought back the tears that were threatening to fall. "I'm so sorry."
