"Nonsense," Jeanne waved Kelly off.
"Mom, I really think you'd be more comfortable in a hotel," Kelly replied.
"It's not like I haven't slept on the bus before."
"And weren't you complaining about your back the next day?"
"It was bumpy, but it's not like they're driving anywhere tonight."
Kelly sighed, running a hand over her face agitatedly.
"If it's that big of a deal..."
"No, no, it's fine," Kelly gave in. "You can use my bed. At least that way you won't be cramped. I'll just sleep in a bunk."
Carrie's head shot up from where she and Ashley sat playing cards.
Ashley giggled, murmuring, "So much for fifteen minutes, huh?"
"It's all I'm asking," Carrie replied, shaking her head.
"Good luck with that. You know Jeanne won't let Kelly far enough out of her sight."
Carrie frowned, "Got any threes?"
"Go fish."
"Well, if it's no trouble..." Jeanne smiled.
"It's no trouble, Mom," Kelly replied.
"Ok, then. I'm going to go get ready for bed," she nodded, walking into the back room and closing the door.
Kelly groaned as she sat next to Carrie, letting her forehead fall onto the table.
Carrie rubbed her back soothingly.
"I swear it's like she's doing this on purpose," Kelly frowned.
"I have no doubt she is," Ashley replied. "Fives?"
"Dang it," Carrie cursed, handing her the card. "You had to offer her the bed?"
"She's my mom, and she's old."
"And Carrie's your girlfriend, and she's horny," Ashley countered.
Carrie's jaw dropped.
"What? You know you were thinking it."
"I'm sorry, Care," Kelly took her hand under the table.
"It's fine," Carrie replied. "I know you're just trying to make her happy so she'll let up a bit."
+++++++++
Kelly smiled as she stood on her tiptoes, leaning into the upper bunk, kissing Carrie. Carrie's hand stroked her cheek gently as her tongue brushed against Kelly's bottom lip. Kelly opened her mouth wider, leaning further into the bunk. Carrie held onto her arm, trying to help her stay there.
"Kelly?"
Kelly jumped back, nearly falling into the bottom bunk on the other side. "M-ma'am?" she choked out.
"What were you doing?" Jeanne asked curiously.
"Oh, I was just...I was just telling C-Carrie goodnight."
"Oh...I didn't know she was still here."
"Yea, she's sleeps on the bus," Kelly nodded, refraining from adding 'with me'.
"Ok, well, night Carrie."
"Night Jeanne," Carrie replied sheepishly from behind the bunk's curtain.
Kelly could just about imagine the blush that would be tinting the country singer's cheeks at that moment.
"Night sweetie," Jeanne kissed Kelly's forehead.
"Night Mom," Kelly offered a smile before Jeanne walked back to the back room. She made sure the door was closed completely before letting out a deep breath. "Sorry Care."
"She's gone?" Carrie asked quietly, poking her head out of the curtain.
"Yea," Kelly laughed, walking to her, and kissing her once more. "Sleep well."
"You too," Carrie replied, giving her a quick kiss before laying back.
+++++++++++
Kelly turned onto her back as she felt someone enter her bunk.
"Baby?" she heard Carrie's voice whisper.
Kelly smiled, reaching out and pulling her down to her.
Carrie let out a sigh of content as their lips melded together. She scooted all the way into the bunk, pulling the curtain closed as she slid on top of the other singer, their bodies falling together as the kiss continued.
She felt Kelly's hands sliding under her shirt, smoothing over her back. She moaned softly into the kiss, her hand running down the Texan's side, over her thigh before pulling it up, allowing her to lay in between her legs.
"I couldn't sleep," Carrie mumbled, pulling back for air.
Kelly nodded, running her finger over the blonde's bottom lip, "Not gonna get much more alone than this."
Carrie leaned down, kissing the side of Kelly's neck. The shorter girl's head tilted back in reply as she groped at the hem of Carrie's shirt. Carrie pulled it off, tossing it towards their feet.
"You're gonna have to be quiet," Kelly warned, pushing down Carrie's pajama bottom. "The bunks echo."
Carrie nodded, the kisses she was placing along the base of Kelly's neck quickly becoming fervent. Kelly's hand slid down over the outside Carrie's bare thigh, rising back up on the inside. Carrie pulled back, her breath catching in her throat.
"Shh," Kelly whispered, her middle finger moving in a slow circle against her. She could feel Carrie's toes curling against her leg as she pressed a little harder, changing her motion. She smiled as her other hand ran up Carrie's stomach, loving how toned it was. She pulled her down, kissing just behind her ear, slowly making her way down her neck.
Carrie bit down hard on her bottom lip, trying to keep from crying out, causing her soft moans to come out low, deep in her throat. Kelly felt her head spin at the sound of it next to her ear. She ran her lips across Carrie's collar bone and shoulder, following the edge of her bra strap down. She kissed her way across the seam of her bra as Carrie's arms shook, struggling to hold herself up.
Kelly kissed her way back up before lying back on her pillow, "Care?"
Carrie looked down at her, her eyes blazing as Kelly's free hand slid to the back of her neck.
Kelly's other hand stopped for a moment, and Carrie could feel her heart echoing in her ears. Kelly's fingers moved down, slipping inside of her. Carrie's mouth opened, but Kelly tugged her down quickly, forcing their lips together to silence whatever sound was about to escape. She could feel the country singer moaning into her mouth, her tongue pushing hard against her own. Kelly's fingers curled, and Carrie tried to pull back, but the Texan's hand on the back of her neck held her down to keep her from crying out. The taller blonde tensed, using her arms to push herself down to Kelly's touch as a pleasurable burning ran through her lower stomach.
Kelly moved her hand faster, whimpering as Carrie bit down hard on her tongue. She pulled back from the kiss, seeing the apology in the other girl's eyes as she covered her mouth with her free hand. Carrie's eyes rolled back as she grabbed Kelly's wrist that was raised to keep her silent. Kelly's jaw clenched as Carrie squeezed her arm tightly--the slightest taste of blood in her mouth--as she watched Carrie tremble above her, losing herself as she was driven over the edge.
Carrie collapsed onto her, gasping for air in her ear. Kelly smiled, rubbing her back as she turned to kiss her temple.
"Thank you," Carrie whispered heavily.
Kelly laughed softly, "You're welcome."
Carrie nuzzled into her neck, her eyes closing tiredly, "You have no idea...how much I needed that."
"I can about imagine," Kelly replied honestly, helping her slip her pajamas back up.
"Give me five minutes," Carrie replied, her blood returning to her head and toes.
"Shh," Kelly laughed again, kissing the top of her head. "There is no way you could keep me quiet right now."
"But--"
"Preshow ritual."
Carrie smiled, kissing her neck softly, before pushing herself up, her brain finally catching up with everything, "Did I hurt you?"
"I'm fine," she replied.
"No, Kell, seriously. I bit you hard."
"I think you drew blood," Kelly admitted.
"Are you for real?" Carrie sat back on her lap, pulling the other girl up into a sitting position as well as she caught her breath. "Where's your phone?"
Kelly reached over the edge of the bunk, her hand feeling across the floor before she found her phone where it lay, charging. She unplugged it, handing it to the girl before her.
"Let me see," Carrie instructed, making the phone's light come on, lighting up the small bunk.
Kelly reluctantly opened her mouth, sticking out her tongue.
"Kell," Carrie winced. "I am so sorry."
"It's ok," Kelly replied, closing her mouth.
"No, Kell, that looks deep. You're lucky you don't need stitches," she said honestly.
"Thank God," Kelly smiled. "I can about imagine trying to explain to my mom why I needed to be rushed to the hospital."
Carrie frowned, "How bad does it hurt?"
"Care..." she rolled her eyes.
"Honestly," Carrie insisted.
Kelly shrugged, looking at her guiltily.
"Hun, I am so sorry," Carrie replied, feeling around the bunk.
"What are you doing?"
"Looking for my shirt," Carrie answered, slipping it back on when she found it.
"Why? I like you without a shirt."
Carrie smiled, kissing her softly, "I'm gonna get you some advil. The medicine's in the bathroom, right?"
Kelly nodded, frowning as Carrie left the bunk. She didn't like the feeling of her leaving right after at all.
"Here you go," Carrie whispered, climbing back in the bunk, closing the curtains around them. She handed her two pills and a bottle of water.
Kelly made a face as she swallowed them.
"You ok?"
"The water burned," she admitted.
Carrie's heart dropped, knowing she was the cause of it. She leaned forward to kiss her forehead, "I better be getting back in my bunk."
"No," Kelly grabbed her arm as she went to move.
"What? Are you ok?"
"Stay. Lay with me."
"What about your mom?"
"I don't care."
"Are you sure?" Carrie studied her carefully.
"Care, when you got up just now, I felt like I had been punched in the stomach."
"I bet the world would love to know that you're the one that's the softy and has to cuddle," Carrie smiled.
"You don't have to?" Kelly frowned.
"No, no, I do," Carrie quickly replied honestly. "Trust me, I know exactly what you mean by being in the stomach. I was just gonna go because I know how your mom is, and I didn't want to make it harder for you. And I just said that because, they'd expect it coming from me, not so much from Miss Badass Rockstar."
Kelly smiled, "Yea, well, you better keep that information to yourself."
"It'll be our secret," Carrie teased, lying down and snuggling back into her. "Yea, this feeling is so much better than the punched in the stomach feeling."
"And what is this feeling?"
"The warm and fuzzy, I love you, you love me, I could lay like this forever feeling."
"Yea, I like this feeling better too," Kelly nodded.
+++++++++
Kelly mumbled a few obscenities as something poked her arm hard.
Carrie laughed tiredly, snuggling further into her.
"Kelly," a voice said firmly.
"Go away," Kelly replied groggily.
"Kelly, wake up."
Kelly sighed, rubbing her eyes. She looked to find Ashley standing beside her bunk, her hand over her eyes.
"Are y'all dressed?"
"Yes," Kelly rolled her eyes.
Ashley removed her hand, "Hey."
"Hey."
"Hey," Carrie yawned, not even bothering to open her eyes.
Kelly laughed softly, "So, what's up?"
"Nothing, I just figured that y'all would end up like this so I thought I'd be the good best friend and make sure y'all were awake before your mom found you."
"I knew I kept you around for a reason."
Ashley laughed, "Whatever. Get up. Take a shower. I'll make some pancakes."
"Pancakes," Carrie mumbled with a smile.
"What did you do to her last night?"
"You don't want me to answer that."
"Fair enough," Ashley nodded.
+++++++++
Kelly winced as she swallowed a sip of orange juice.
Carrie frowned, "Let me see."
"See what?" Ashley asked.
Kelly stuck her tongue out.
"What the hell did you do?"
"My fault," Carrie admitted, holding Kelly's chin in her hand. "What do you think the chances are of it getting infected? I mean, it's in her mouth. That can't be too good, right? With all the food and stuff going in."
"Ok Dr. Carrie," Kelly rolled her eyes, pulling back.
"Does it hurt?" Ashley asked.
"Yea."
"Is that gonna mess you up singing tonight?"
"I don't think so."
"Probably should get a doctor or something to check it out," Carrie suggested.
"It's fine," Kelly replied.
"You are going to need a better excuse though," Ashley noted.
"Yea, I doubt Jeanne's gonna be thrilled that I bit her daughter's tongue while having sex with her," Carrie frowned.
"I was gonna say, she wouldn't be thrilled that you hurt her. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, thinking you may have tripped her or something...you really bit her that hard?"
Carrie blushed.
"Let me see it again," Ashley said, scrunching her eyebrows as she studied the short Texan's tongue. "Yea, you couldn't pull off the tripping thing anyway."
"Why not?" Kelly asked.
"Oh, yea," Carrie nodded. "Because that would mean that Kelly bit it."
"I could've bitten it," Kelly shrugged.
"Could've bitten what?" Jeanne asked, joining them in the kitchen area.
"I bit my tongue," Kelly replied, sticking her tongue out before the other two could stop her.
Jeanne's eyes grew wide as she leaned over the small table to look at her daughter carefully, "How'd that happen?"
"I bit it."
"You must've bit it pretty hard. What were you doing?"
"Ugh, I tripped?" Kelly offered.
"Hm," Jeanne frowned.
"What?"
"Well, it's just...are you sure you bit it?"
"Yea..."
Carrie and Ashley shifted in their seats uncomfortably.
"Why?" Kelly questioned.
"Well, the curve of it...it's kind of odd if you bit it."
Kelly's eyes grew wide as Jeanne turned to pour her a cup of coffee.
"We were trying to tell you," Ashley whispered quickly. "There's no way you could've bit it. The curve's in the wrong direction for your teeth."
Kelly groaned, placing her head in her hands.
"So, does it hurt?" Jeanne asked, sliding in next to Ashley.
"Yea," Kelly admitted.
"We'll have a doctor look at it this morning."
"Great," she replied unenthusiastically.
++++++++++
"This is not funny," Kelly shifted as she sat on a table in the dressing room after rehearsals.
"It's pretty funny," Ashley nodded from the couch.
"Kell, I'm really sorry," Carrie repeated for the hundredth time as she stood next to the table, holding her hand.
"Hey, KC," Tim, her tour manager, smiled as he walked into the dressing room. "So, I hear you need a doctor. What's up? Not feeling well?"
"Um, no, I just kinda cut myself pretty bad last night."
"Ouch. Where?"
Kelly reluctantly stuck out her tongue.
Tim frowned, "That looks like it hurt. What happened?"
"Oh, um..."
"So, I just saw a doctor walking around," Reba said, walking into the dressing room. "Is everybody ok?"
Kelly's shoulders slumped.
"Kelly cut her tongue last night," Tim explained.
"Really?" Reba asked, walking to her.
Kelly stuck her tongue out once more.
"Wow. Are you ok? I mean, it doesn't hurt when you sing, does it?"
"Nah, just when I try to eat or drink."
"What happened?"
"Well..."
"I found the doctor, dear," Jeanne smiled, walking into the room, escorting the elderly doctor.
Ashley laughed at the sudden crowd of people.
Kelly glared at her best friend.
"Hey everybody," Jeanne greeted. "Quite a little gathering we got."
"Just making sure she's ok," Reba replied, eyeing Jeanne curiously.
Carrie squeezed Kelly's hand, letting her know she was still there.
"So," the doctor smiled at Kelly gently. "Let's see what we got?"
Kelly opened her mouth, sticking out her tongue as he pulled out a small light.
He turned his head, looking underneath it carefully, "You're pretty lucky."
"Yea?" Kelly asked, retracting her tongue.
"Yea, any deeper and you definitely would've needed stitches."
"So, um, what about infection?" Carrie asked worriedly. "Does she need to watch out for that?"
"Well, how'd this happen?"
"I, uh, I bit it," Kelly shrugged.
The doctor studied her carefully, "Are you sure? Because that doesn't look like it."
"Um, well...actually, I, uh, Care...she kinda...she's the one that did it."
"Care?" the doctor asked, confused.
Carrie gave a slight wave.
"Oh...oooh..." he nodded, noticing their linked hands.
Kelly shifted uncomfortably as she felt all the eyes in the room on her.
"No worries," he patted her shoulder. "It's gonna be fine. Just make sure to rinse with mouthwash at least twice a day to keep your mouth clean, and try and be more careful next time."
Kelly could feel her ears burning as Jeanne escorted the doctor to the door.
"So..." Tim looked around nervously. "I'm going to try and make this as least awkward as possible, and go help the guys finish setting up."
Kelly nodded, not meeting his eye.
"You didn't tell me your mother was joining us," Reba commented.
"Yea, she wants a fresh start," Kelly explained.
"That's good," Reba replied as Jeanne walked back into the room. "You want me to stay?"
"I want to be able to look you in the eye at the show tonight, so no."
Reba nodded in understanding, patting her knee before walking out.
+++++++++
"So..." Jeanne studied her daughter carefully as she sat between Carrie and Ashley on the couch. "You mind telling me the truth now?"
Kelly continued to stare at a spot on the floor instead of up at her mother who was towering over them.
"Kelly, what really happened?"
"I thought that would've been obvious," Ashley mumbled under breath.
Carrie struggled not to break into giggles.
"Kelly," Jeanne frowned.
"I'm sorry, Jeanne, you know I've always had the utmost respect for you," Ashley shook her head. "But I really don't see how this is any of your business."
"When my daughter lies to me, it is my business."
"She's 25. She's a big girl. She has a right to do whatever and whoever she wants."
Jeanne took a deep breath, "Kelly?"
"I think she's right," Carrie nodded. "It's not any of your business. I mean, I'm sure you can about imagine what happened...why make her uncomfortable like this. It's nothing for her to be ashamed of. I sure as heck am not."
Ashley raised an eyebrow turning to look at her over Kelly who was covering her face with her hands.
"What?" Carrie shrugged. "Trust me, you wouldn't be either."
"Go head KC," Ashley nudged her playfully. "Didn't know you had it in you."
"Guys," Kelly groaned.
"Enough," Jeanne cut in. "Enough of these silly jokes and games. I want the truth Kelly, and I want it now."
"I was sleeping with her, ok?" Kelly asked, her voice holding a sharp edge to it as she looked up at her. "We were having sex last night on the bus in my bunk while you were in the next room because both of us were horny as hell because we haven't been together since before you got here, and we're not used to going that long without sex. And it was good, and Carrie lost control, and she bit me because I was kissing her to try and keep her from screaming my name. Is that what you want to hear? Because that's the truth, Mom."
Both Ashley and Carrie stared at the Texan in between them in awe.
"Kelly Brianne," Jeanne scolded.
"What? If you didn't want to hear, you shouldn't have asked."
Jeanne nodded, "I'm going to go talk with Jason for a bit because I think you need to cool off, and we'll talk later."
"Kell..." Carrie said carefully, trying not to laugh as Jeanne walked out.
"Yea?" Kelly looked at her defeatedly.
"A simple she bit me while we were making out would've sufficed."
"Care..." she fussed, folding into her.
Carrie shook her head, laughing softly as she wrapped her arm around her in a hug, "It's ok."
"You know, I think she needed to hear that," Ashley nodded.
"How am I supposed to look at her again?" Kelly asked, pulling back. "I just told my mom I had sex with my girlfriend right next door to her because I was horny."
"And there's not one part of that sentence that I ever thought I'd hear coming out of your mouth," Ashley laughed. "But then again I should've known better. You are the girl born without a filter after all."
"Yea, yea," Kelly sighed, rolling her eyes.
"So, it's nearly four. Do y'all want to get something to eat, or you want me to just leave y'all alone so you can rest, because from what I can tell y'all had a busy night last night, or what?"
Kelly turned to Carrie who nodded. "Yea...we'll just take a nap."
"Ok," Ashley smiled, standing up and ruffling her best friend's hair. "I'll see you when it's time to do your make-up."
Kelly nodded, watching as she walked out the door.
Carrie wrapped her arms around her, pulling her with her as she laid down.
Kelly sighed, resting her head on her shoulder.
"You ok?"
"Well, my mother knows how good I am in bed now."
Carrie laughed, "If it was up to me, the whole world would know because I'd brag to everybody I saw that I was having better sex than they were."
Kelly couldn't help but smile, "Today has been such a weird day."
"Yea," she agreed. "Definitely one of those twilight zone days."
"But, this is good," Kelly replied, snuggling into her.
"This is very good," Carrie smiled, kissing the top of her head. "I'm sorry about that stuff with your mom."
"With our record of locking doors, she would've found out about our sex life one way or another."
"I think this way is better."
"Definitely better," Kelly agreed.

+++++++++
