All Hell Breaks Loose
Slowly but surely, a mist entered the room. Ryan watched dumb founded as the mist turned into Amir. "The FUCK?!" Ryan screamed, falling over and backing away. Terror was apparent in his eyes. I didn't have time to coddle Ryan though, so I turned to Amir and demanded, "What's wrong with Jay?" I sat beside Jay, still shaking him. "Well he's having a flash back. It seems to be a pretty nasty one too." Amir replied, completely unconcerned. Ryan was muttering to himself about Amir being the devil and I told him to shut up. "You have to do something!" I yelled at him. He crossed his arms over his chest and stared at me in a bored fashion. "Gee, I'd love to help you Paige but I just can't."
I looked up at him, then said, "I'll do anything you want, I swear!" I looked over at Ryan as well, he was getting dressed and mumbling to himself. "Oh?" Amir said, definately interested now. "Please... I..." I couldn't finish the sentence, because it would end in something I had never admitted to myself. Amir stared at me, then said, "Out with it Paige. Now." I sighed, then said, "I think I love him." Time stood still for a second as rage grew on Amir's face. He looked at Jay, who was steadily ceasing to breathe, then at me. "Never." Ryan was walking past, then I noticed it. He had a chain out, and it was silver. He threw it around Amir's neck and started to choke him. "Wake him up now or you BOTH die." "This won't kill me!" Amir screamed, but he was obviously struggling. "Yeah but boy is it going to hurt." Ryan replied. "Release him NOW!"
Jay seemed to convulse, then he was still. I checked his pulse, his breathing, everything was normal. Ryan released Amir who instantly disapeared. Ryan rushed to Jay's side, checking him like I had. "How'd you know?" I asked, staring at him in surprise. "What? You think I'd work here this long and not listen to you guys?" Ryan asked, a small smile on his face. I smiled back, then it turned into a grin as Jay bolted upright, looking around. "Where is he?" He gasped out. I took him in my arms and said, "Hey, calm down, he's gone." Jay sighed, then let Paige hold him. He was too horrified to speak. "I dreamt about that night... But it was Amir instead, and he was touching me and..." Jay trailed off and I crushed him to me. "Sh sh baby..." I whispered. Then Jay pulled back and looked into my eyes. "I could hear you though... Did you mean what you said?" "I lied actually... I know I love you." I replied. Jay smiled and it was the most gorgeous thing I'd seen since I'd been checked into this accursed place.
He gave me a chaste kiss, then we all looked up as we realized we heard a scream. Jay and I pulled on a pair of sweat pants a piece and ran into the hallway at Ryan's heels. When we finally found the source of the screams, we realized we'd been beaten to the punch. The first thing I saw was Dr. Cox on the floor, eyes dull, blood seeping from his slashed throat. Dr. Lomo was crouched on the floor, her hands around her own neck which also gushed blood. But in front of both stood Lia, who's arms were out in front of her, hands up like she was pushing against something. She was muttering in the foreign language again and the wind that came with it was at gale force. Amir was against the opposite wall, three or four feet in the air and screaming. Ryan immediately rushed to Dr. Lomo and dragged her away.
Jay went through the hallway, arms infront of his face as he walked towards Amir. I stood there, not sure what to do. But Jay seemed to as he pulled something out of his pocket and threw it around Amir's neck. Amir screamed again as Lia stopped chanting and he fell to the floor. He was muttering curses at Jay and Jay just kicked him. Lia smiled and then fell over, but I caught her easily. "You okay kiddo?" I asked. She nodded, saying, "Just a little tired is all." "What should we do with him?" I asked as Jay easily lifted Amir to his feet. "Lock him in one of the isolation cells I guess. We'll need to guard him until we can do the ritual tonight anyway." Jay said, then dragged Amir down the hall. Lia sighed and I looked at her, saying, "Good to have you back kiddo." She laughed, then asked, "Um, could you please help me? I think I need to lay down, my head is spinning."
I helped Lia to sit, taking her around the blood of Dr. Cox's corpse. I stared down at him for a minute, the only doctor I'd ever known who wasn't some sadistic bastard getting his rocks off through the patients he treated. He really was a good man, and it was sad to see him the way he was now, with not a hint of life left in him. She was shaking horribly as we sat down. "Something wrong?" I aksed. "I think... I think I'm going to die." She said simply. I stared at her, pulling the hair back from her face. "Why would you think something like that?" "I don't think it, I know it. Just... When I do die, please take care of Jay. He's going to need all the help he can get." "What?" I asked, wondering what she was talking about. She looked up as Jay came in, his face pale and terrified.
I stood, asking, "Is everything okay?" Jay's hands were around his neck, and when he moved them, we could clearly see the wound. "Oh God..." I whispered. He kneeled by us, laying his head in my lap. "This sucks.... Lia, you're going to have to write that ritual for two." "Did he give you his blood?" Lia questioned. Jay's eyes slid closed and he whispered, "Yes... God I'm so sorry." I started to cry, grabbing onto Jay. "You can't die dammit! We're almost through, we're almost free!" "Would you prefer I become like Mir? Killing and torturing people just for fun?" Jay asked, he sounded alot more calm than I would have in a situation like this. I just held him, tears still streaming down my cheeks. Lia hugged the both of us, and we cried.
