Open mouth, insert foot

Shane jerked upright and stood goggling at me. "What?!" The elevator reached the lobby at that moment, delaying my response for a moment. What was I thinking? I asked myself. I quickly dismissed that thought and forged ahead.

"What, do we need to have you checked for a hearing aide before we leave? I said I'll go with you." Shane reached out and whirled me around.

"Are you serious? What would you do in Japan? Your dad would KILL me if I were to take you with me! All those miles away and--" I cut him off, by raising my hand and placing it none-to-gently against his mouth.

"Let me handle dad. That's not a problem." I turned and started towards the entrance to the hotel. "As for what I'll do...well, you're going to have to have someone with you who speaks the language to help negotiate things. With me going you'll have someone to do that AND deal with the financial end of things." As I pushed my way out the front door, the coolness of the night air hit me somewhat suddenly. It was quickly becoming winter in Conneticut and thoughts of Christmas filled my head. This would be the first one I'd be away from my family, were I to go with Shane to Japan. But quite honestly, now that I'd had a moment to think things through , I was getting excited. I'd secretly wanted to train to become a wrestler since I was 19, but my dad was dead set against it. "It's a hard life, Molly and I don't want you to get pulled under by the glitz and glammer of it all."

I shook my head, trying to clear it of the thoughts and doubts that were beginning to seep into my brain. I turned to glance at Shane, who had given his ticket to the valet and was waiting for his car to be brought around, grumbling the whole time.

"Your dad is SO gonna kill me."

For the first time in a long time, I felt a genuine laugh bubble up in my throat. I threaded my arm through his and hugged it tightly. "Don't worry, Shane. I'll protect you." I looked up to see the obvious sarcasm on his face, although there was a twinkle starting to form in his eyes. He gave a dry laugh.

"Well now, that certainly eases my conscience." We laughed together just as his car, a baby blue Porsche 911 turbo was pulled around. He opened my door and I slid inside, my dress sliding up momentarily on the smooth leather seats.

"God you two, couldn't you at least wait until you got back to the house?" I looked up, startled at the sound of Randy's voice. I turned to see a rather flushed -looking Randy staring intently at the length of thigh that was currently showing from my dress sliding up. He stood just behind Shane and looked, for all the world, like he was about to punch something...or someone.

I pasted a smipering smile on my face and reached out a hand to coyly run up the arm that Shane still had lying on the door. "Actually Randy, we couldn't. I was just trying to convince Shane to take me, right here, right now, when you showed up."

The look on Shane's face alone was worth a million bucks, but to see the almost unholy gleam that shot into Randy's eyes was priceless. But, not for the first time that night, I had spoken without thinking first. And what happened next taught me to learn to bite my tongue at times like this.

A/N: So what do you guys think so far? I know that updates have been few and far between, but I promise that I'm starting to get a feel for this story again, so updates should definitely be more frequent!

On another note....what do you think happens next? Are we gonna see Randy beat the living shit out of Shane? Or will Shane play along with Molly and somewhere along the way, start believing their charade?

Whisper Calloway: Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the fic and it was really great to read your review! I was begining to think about deleting this story, since I hadn't had much feedback lately and no one seemed interested. Thanks again and be sure to check back for more!
