Kelly gasped, turning on her heel as she heard the door open.

"Shit," she breathed, seeing Carrie, closing the door behind her. "You scared the crap out of me. Ever heard of knocking?"

"Now where's the fun in that?" Carrie asked, after realizing that Kelly was only joking with her.

The two stood in a thick silence, taking the other in.

"You were amazing tonight," Carrie finally blurted out. Kelly smiled as she saw a slight tinge of red rise to the blonde's cheeks.

"So were you."

"Girl, I could never sing like you--and don't you be your normal sweetheart self and say I can," Carrie said as Kelly opened her mouth to argue. "Cause I can't."

Kelly rolled her eyes as she sat down in a chair, slipping off her boots. Carrie had to force herself to look anywhere but at Kelly as her dress slid up some as she sat down. Although, she couldn't help but laugh as Kelly slipped on a pair of jeans under her dress.

"What?" Kelly asked nervously.

"Nothing," Carrie smiled, shaking her head.

"Can you help me?" Kelly asked, standing up, reaching behind her back to the zipper.

Carrie's smile faded quickly as she gulped, "What?"

"Can you help me with my zipper? I think it's stuck, and the last thing I need is to break it."

"Um-I-uh-ok," she squeaked.

Carrie slowly closed the distance between them, and Kelly turned around, offering Carrie her back. Carrie brought a shaky hand up. The dress tied at Kelly's neck, leaving her upper back and shoulders exposed, and zipped down the middle. She bit her lip, trying her best not to touch Kelly, knowing that if she did, something would happen, and it wouldn't be good. Unfortunately, zippers can't be undone with one hand. She brought the other one up, holding the slight fabric right above the zipper. The back of her fingers grazing Kelly's bare back. She gave an involuntary shudder, but couldn't help but smile as she saw goose bumps trail down Kelly's spine.

She slowly unzipped the dress, revealing more and more of Kelly's skin and found herself being able to breathe less and less. Carrie reached the end of the zipper and froze. Kelly turned around slowly, bringing them face to face.

"Thanks," she smiled nervously. The goose bumps were still there.

"Anytime," Carrie managed.

Kelly found herself at a loss for words for the first time in her life. Her mind seemed to stop working. But, a slight chill brought her back to her senses.

"Um, do you mind--could you turn for a bit--I mean, while I change?" she asked, looking at her sheepishly.

"Uh, sure, yea" Carrie replied with a soft smile. It was now her turn to turn her back to Kelly.

Kelly untied the back of her dress, slipping it off, along with the beaded necklace. She put on a bra and a fitted-t quickly. Carrie didn't know why, but she felt her heart pounding with anticipation. A gentle hand on her should informed her it was ok to turn around.

She was greeted with a changed Kelly, smiling up at her nervously. Carrie shook her head, breathing in the sweet scent of vanilla that surrounded her. She didn't know what it was--the way Kelly's eyes were sparkling as she looked up at her, the way her hair-free of extensions-fell perfectly messy on her shoulder, or the way her lips just seemed so inviting--but she found herself not able to think anymore. She leaned forward, bringing a hand to the back of Kelly's neck, and capturing her lips in her own.

It was better than she could have ever imagined. Kelly's lips were soft, and warm, and seemed to be made for the sole purpose of kissing hers. Her head became fuzzy, and her blood was rushing through her veins, but all to quickly the short brunette pulled away. Carrie found herself breathing hard, as she tried to gain control over her senses.

Kelly looked up at her fearfully, bringing a shaky hand to her lips that were burning from the feeling of Carrie's against them.

"You shouldn't have done that," she said, her voice shaky.

Realization hit Carrie of what she had just done. She had just kissed a girl. And not just any girl, she had just kissed the biggest musical act on the planet. And what was worse, she had never felt anything that good and that exhilarating before, and she only wanted to do it again and again. But the look in Kelly's eyes told her other wise.

"But I wanted to," she replied, honestly.

"Yea," Kelly breathed softly. She looked down at the floor, before looking up at Carrie again with the slightest spark in her eyes. She jumped up, wrapping her arms around Carrie's neck, and kissing her fully on the lips. Carrie tried not to stumble back in surprise. She wrapped her arms around Kelly's waist, holding her there, and found herself kissing the Texan back.

There was a knock on the door, and the two girls broke apart, breathing heavily. Carrie looked down at her and smiled at her slightly swollen lips.

"Kelly?" Ashley asked, through the door.

"Um, come in," she replied, miraculously managing to keep her voice steady. Carrie made a motion to her mouth, and Kelly looked in the mirror, quickly fixing the smeared lip gloss.

"Hey, you rea--" Ashley froze in mid-sentence at the sight of Carrie. "Hi."

Kelly couldn't help but laugh, "Carrie, this is my make up artist slash hair dresser slash bestest friend in the entire world: Ashley."

"Hey," Carrie greeted.

"Ashley, this is...well...this is my..." Kelly gave Carrie a questioning glance. "Carrie Underwood," she finished lamely.

"Nice to meet you," Ashley nodded. She turned back to Kelly, eyeing her carefully. "You ready to get out of here?"

"Um, yea. Can you just give us a sec?"

"Sure," Ashley replied. "It was nice meeting," she smiled at Carrie.

"You too," Carrie smiled back politely. Ashley walked out of the dressing room, closing the door behind her.

"She seems nice," Carrie smiled.

"Yea," Kelly nodded.

Carrie turned to her, "So what was that exactly?"

"Well..." Kelly smiled. "Most would call it an introduction."

Carrie looked at her seriously, "You know what I mean."

"And if I had an answer, would I be resorting to third-rate sarcasm?"

Carrie frowned.

"Look," Kelly bit her lip. She figured it was time to be honest with Carrie. She at least owed her that. "I like you, and I don't know why. I mean, I know why. You're gorgeous, and you're talented, and you're kind-hearted, and you're down to earth, and you make me laugh, and I could go on, but we don't have forever. I mean, I guess, what I'm trying to say is that I'm confused, and I'm scared."

Carrie took Kelly's hands in her own. She knew it wasn't easy for Kelly to be this open with anybody, and she only liked her more for it.

"I'm confused too. I mean, you're a girl."

"You've noticed?"

"And I'm scared too," she continued, ignoring Kelly's comment.

Kelly shook her head, "Not for that reason. I don't want to go through this again."

Carrie felt her heart reaching out to the smaller girl as she saw her fighting back tears.

"I don't want to hurt again. I'm tired of it."

"I would never hurt you," Carrie said firmly, looking Kelly in the eyes. She leaned down and gently grazed Kelly's lips with her own. She looked into those hazel eyes that she had found herself constantly day dreaming about. "I could never hurt you."

Kelly smiled softly, and Carrie pulled her into a gentle hug.

"You should probably get going," she said, rubbing a soothing hand up and down Kelly's back.

"Call me?"

"I need you're number," Carrie replied. The two girl's couldn't help but giggle as they thought back of their previous meeting at the clothing store. Carrie handed her her phone, and Kelly programmed her number into it.

"Thanks," she smiled.

"For?" Carrie asked.

"Being such a good kisser," Kelly replied with a mischievous grin.

"You're not so bad yourself."

"I know," she beamed.

Carrie rolled her eyes, "Come on."

She led the way to the door and opened it, allowing Kelly to walk through first. She smiled at the brunette, reaching out to give her hand a slight squeeze, before walking the other way, unaware of the hazel eyes that followed her adoringly.
