This is a work of fiction. I do not know Eminem (Marshall Mathers). I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Conflicted
It wasn't quite lights out yet but it was near the time and everyone was relegated to their cells. Marshall was on the bottom bunk staring blankly at nothing in particular. His mind a million miles away thinking about the blowjob he had given Remy in the library earlier that week. It had been hot, especially with the mild worry of getting caught, not to say that much would happen if they were, but still.
"I don't like him." Mekhi said suddenly
The voice startled Marshall out of his thoughts. He blinked. "What?" He asked.
Mekhi shifted on his bunk and continued as if Marshall hadn't spoken. "I don't like any of them muties. They're all a bunch of freaks. Who ever thought it was a good idea to mix them up with regular humans in a prison was whacked in the head."
Marshall had heard this kind of talk before. They had actually had fights about it. Mewas was his friend, his roommate. A guy who he generally respected but on the subject of mutants; their opinions were violently different. Marshall wondered if his friend was intentionally trying to pick a fight because it was defiantly working.
"I been talkin' to some other guys and they think you and Re-"
"Did I ask for an earful of the latest fuckin' gossip on what some dickheads think about me and Remy?" Marshall spat. He wasn't in the mood for Mekhi\rejurejudice bullshit. He'd noticed Mekhi starting to socialize and hang with some of the guys from 'The Friends of Humanity,' an organization of people who believed strongly in the extermination of all mutants. They were dangerously self-righteous and always preaching their opinions to whoever would listen. It scared Marshall to see his friend starting to associate with them.
"Hey I fuckin' stuck up for you!" Mekhi leaned over the side of the bunk so that he could look Marshall in the eyes as he spoke. "I told them how it wasn't your choice, that them mutie freaks just take whatever the fuck they want, cause they think they can get away with it. They think they're better then the rest of us. Some of these guys I've been talkin' to have connections, they said they think they can maybe help you out, try and get Remy out of the picture."
Marshall rolled out of his bunk and stood up, arms crossed over his chest. His eyes sparkled with restrained fury as he spoke. "Woah back the fuck up, take him out of the picture? What the fuck?" He lowered his voice to an angry whisper as he said; "Remy is not someone you wanna mess wit. Are these guys, these Friends of Humanity bitches I've seen you wit lately?"
"Yeah, The Friends have connections." Mekhi had sat up on his bunk and was speaking in conspiring tones as he said; "They can help you out man. They're on our side, they're-" Mekhi's was almost smiling as he spoke.
Marshall drew away from him in shocked repulsion. "On our side?! Those fucking baby killers are disgusting! You've seen on the news what those guys stand for. How could you ever think I would want help from them?! And what the fuck is wrong with you?! Why the hell are you hanging wit those fucks?!"
"I though that this whole ordeal with Max and Remy would make you see how fucked up mutants are." Mekhi sneered at him. "I guess I was wrong."
"What the fuck! like it had anything to do with the fact that they were mutants-" Marshall stopped mid rant and took a shaking long breath. He turned his back on his friend and tried to steady out his anger. He couldn't believe what he was hearing, had Mekhi always been this prejudiced? No. He didn't think so. Those guys he was hanging with were brainwashing him. He turned back around again and said very carefully; "Remy treats me real good. I like it when he fucks me. I don't want anything to happen to him."
Mekhi just stared at him, his eyes narrowing in disgust as he said; "Then you're just as bad as they are." His voice sounding ominous and foreboding as he next said; "And you deserve whatever happens to you."
"Fuck you." Marshall spat out as the first call for lights out was yelled. He lay back on his bunk, mulling over the conversation in his head as the lights blinked out in their wing and left him in darkness.
*note from author; i love mekhi phifer i don't think he's a prejudiced prick. it just happens to work better for the storyline for him to be like this. don't hate me cause i made him an asshole. also thanks for the feedback :) it fuels my creative juices.
