Chapter 88

+++++++++++

"Excited?" Carrie smiled as she walked into the theater with Kelly, hand in hand.

"I'm glad to be getting back on stage," Kelly nodded, following the security guard that was guiding them to her dressing room.

"So, where are we?"

"Glasgow."

"Still in England, right?"

Kelly smiled, "Scotland, actually."

"Ashley said she wanted to take me shopping," she looked at her nervously.

"I know," Kelly nodded, telling the security guard thank you as they entered her dressing room, closing the door behind them.

"Baby, Ashley scares me."

"Care..." Kelly laughed. "She's not gonna hurt you. She just thought you'd like to go with her. This is your first time here, and we don't want the only thing you see to be the theaters and tour buses."

"That's the only thing you see."

"Yea, but I'm ok with that," Kelly smiled, pulling her to her as she sat on the couch. "Because, one, I've been here on vacation before, so I've gotten to explore, and two I have this extremely hot blonde that I get to see on the inside of my bus."

Carrie grinned, kissing her sweetly, "So this hot blonde...I didn't know you were that freaky, but hey, if you want a threesome, I'm totally game..."

Kelly's jaw dropped as she hit her arm, "Care!"

"What?" Carrie laughed, wrapping her arms around her. "No threesome?"

"No," Kelly said firmly.

"That's good," Carrie nodded. "Cause the only person I want touching me is you."

Kelly smiled as she kissed her again, "Who knew you could be so romantic and so dirty at the same time?"

"It's a gift," Carrie agreed. "So, I have to go shopping?"

"You don't have to go, but I think Ashley was looking forward to spending some time with just the two of you."

"You sure you can't come?"

"I've got to help set up."

"But when you're there, she can't grill me."

"She's not going to grill you," Kelly assured.

"She's going to kick my ass," Carrie nodded.

"You haven't left a mark in a while."

"Is that a challenge?" Carrie's eyes lit up.

"Care..." Kelly giggled as she felt the country singer's lips tickling her neck.

"Can't have you challenging my skills like that," Carrie mumbled against her skin.

Kelly's eyes closed, her head tilting back at the feeling of Carrie's teeth grazing her neck, "Care..."

Carrie smiled at the change of tone in her voice and the feeling of the Texan's small hand running through her hair.

"Care..." Kelly mumbled, her other hand on the taller girl's thigh, her nails moving across her jeans.

"Carrie," a voice fussed harshly, causing them to break apart

"She's gonna kill me," Carrie whispered, wrapping her arms around Kelly's neck and burying her face in her shoulder.

"Hey Ash," Kelly laughed.

"Carrie, she has a show tonight," Ashley scolded. "Don't you dare leave a mark."

"I wasn't gonna," Carrie replied, still hiding her face.

Kelly grinned, "She's so lying. That's exactly what she was trying to do."

"Kell..." Carrie fussed, pulling back to look at her. "I have to spend the day with her. She can hurt me."

"She's not gonna hurt you," Kelly shook her head before looking over the other blonde's shoulder to her best friend, "Right, Ash?"

"Right," Ashley grumbled.

"You're gonna have fun," Kelly nodded, turning back to Carrie.

"Fine," she sighed playfully, moving to stand.

"Wait," Kelly pulled her back. "I don't get a goodbye kiss?"

"Those who sell their girlfriends to the wolves, don't get goodbye kisses."

"Those who don't give their girlfriends goodbye kisses don't get to partake in the preshow ritual and will not be sleeping with their girlfriends on the bus."

Carrie turned back quickly, pressing their lips together.

"Mmm..." Kelly giggled. "That's what I thought."

"Love you," Carrie smiled.

"Love you too," Kelly gave her another kiss.

Ashley shook her head, laughing softly, "Let's go blondie. We've got to be back with enough time left so I can cover the mark that you're gonna leave on her with your little 'ritual'."

Carrie grinned as she stood up, following Ashley out the dressing room.

Ashley laughed as Carrie's eyes lit up when they walked into the chocolate store, "Yea, Kelly loves this place too."

"What's her favorite?" Carrie asked, looking around. "I want to get her something."

"I'm not telling," Ashley smiled. "You're the girlfriend."

"You suck," Carrie laughed.

"So, how's your first day in Scotland?"

"I thought we were still in England, till Kell told me," she admitted.

Ashley smiled, "Nerd."

"It's really nice, though. Thanks for this. I'm glad I got a chance to look around."

"I was in a shopping mood," Ashley shrugged. "And Kelly said something about wanting you to get a chance to really explore, so I thought it'd be a good idea. Plus, I wanted to get a chance to talk to you."

"Uh-oh."

"Not uh-oh," Ashley laughed. "Just wanted to see how Kelly's really doing. She opens up to you more than anyone else."

"I think she's done really well with the mom thing," Carrie nodded. "I mean, you can tell it hurt her so much, but for once I think she actually dealt with it instead of burying it, so that's good. Not to mention this tour couldn't come at a better time. Perfect way to get her mind on something else so she wouldn't be dwelling on it."

"How about the magazine?"

"Yea, I think that may have been harder for her, actually."

"Well, she doesn't do betrayal well, but I meant you. Kelly felt so bad about having to leave you behind to deal with all that by yourself."

Carrie smiled.

"Yea, yea, she cares," Ashley rolled her eyes, making her laugh.

"And so do you, apparently."

"You may have grown on me a bit."

Carrie grinned.

"Oh, hush it," Ashley pushed her playfully.

"No worries," Carrie replied, growing serious again. "It was ok. Nobody really took that article to heart."

"Good," Ashley nodded. "You didn't deserve that."

"Thanks," Carrie smiled softly. It grew as her eyes lit up when she found what she was looking for. She took the box off the shelf, showing it to Ashley.

"Very good," Ashley grinned. "A+ on the girlfriend report card."

Carrie laughed, walking to the counter to buy the box of chocolates for Kelly.

Carrie smiled as she walked up behind Kelly who was talking to Jason at his keyboards on stage. She motioned for him to be quiet, and she brought a hand over Kelly's eyes, "Guess who."

"Um...the hot blonde from the bus?"

Carrie laughed, "Even better."

"Ooo, I don't know if it gets any better than her."

"I got you something."

"Care...not in front of the guys..."

Carrie shook her head as Jason laughed, "That's not what I meant; get your mind out of the gutter."

"Sorry," Kelly blushed.

Carrie took her hand off her eyes, and Kelly turned in her arms.

"Hey," she beamed.

"Hey," Carrie smiled, kissing her lightly.

"You had fun? Ashley didn't hurt you?"

"No, I really had a good time. Thanks for making me go."

"Anytime," Kelly smiled, kissing her softly. "So what you got me?"

Carrie laughed, taking her other hand from behind her back, showing the short Texan what she had bought at the chocolate store.

"Chocolate covered strawberries?" Kelly's voice rose several pitches in excitement. "Aw...Care, I love these."

"I know," Carrie smiled.

"Thanks, Care," Kelly cooed, kissing her once more. "Love you."

"Love you too."

"Give me a couple more minutes with Jason, and I'll meet you in the dressing room?"

"Sure," Carrie nodded, giving Jason a slight wave.

"Later Carrie," he smiled as she walked away. "Girl, you are so far gone," he teased, turning to Kelly.

"Yea," Kelly agreed giddily. "Doesn't help that she spoils me."

Jason laughed, "I'm happy for you."

"Thanks," she smiled. "It feels good to finally have it right, you know?"

"Definitely," he nodded.

Carrie walked into the dressing room to find Kelly, Jill, and Kate all laughing on the floor, "What did y'all do?"

"We did a vlog for our blog," Kate laughed. "I think Kelly broke the webcam."

"Did not," Kelly pushed her playfully.

Carrie shook her head, smiling as Kelly stood, wrapping her arms around her, "You're such a nerd."

"But you love me," she grinned.

"I love you," Carrie nodded. "Hey!" she protested, feeling her pinch her butt.

"You're not wearing green," Kelly smiled.

"Kelly, my shirt is green."

"Ok...so maybe I just wanted to pinch your butt."

Carrie laughed kissing her softly, "You're so lucky I love you."

"Mmhmm..."

Carrie kissed the tip of the nose, turning as she heard Jill and Kate laughing loudly.

"KC, you're seriously gonna scare the crap out of some people," Jill giggled as they watched the video. "You just freaking pop out of nowhere. They're so gonna think you're drunk."

"Drunk on love..." Kelly drew out the last word.

"You're such a dork," Carrie kissed her again. "Ashley's looking for y'all. She said she wasn't finished your eyes"

"Damn..." she pouted, waving at Jill and Kate. "See y'all backstage nerds."

"Have fun," Jill winked, causing them all to laugh.

"What?" Carrie asked. "I'm serious. Ashley needs to finish her make-up."

"Whatever," Kate laughed. "We know all about your little 'ritual'."

"But she really needs to finish her make up," Carrie replied honestly.

"Don't worry about them," Kelly waved them off. "They're just jealous that they can't make out with someone as hot as you."

Carrie smiled, kissing her.

Kelly turned, sticking her tongue out at Jill and Kate, making them laugh as they walked out the backup singers' dressing room.

Carrie brushed Kelly's hair off the back of her neck as she lay behind her. She pressed her lips against her neck, slowly kissing her way down her spine. This was definitely one of the perks of her girlfriend sleeping shirtless.

"Care..." Kelly drawled raspily.

Carrie smiled, moving back up to where she was spooning the short Texan, wrapping an arm around her stomach.

"Mornin'," she turned in her arms, looking at her tiredly.

"Good morning," Carrie kissed the tip of her nose.

"What are you doin'?"

"Molesting my girlfriend."

"Mmm...well, you may continue."

Carrie laughed softly, her hands smoothing over Kelly's sides.

"You're'so sexy," Kelly tapped the other girl's chin lightly with her index finger.

Carrie laughed a little louder at the cloudiness of sleep still in her eyes, "And you are so adorable when you're waking up."

"Adorable..." Kelly grumbled, burying her face in Carrie's neck.

"Don't forget," Carrie rubbed her back. "I love adorable."

"That's true," Kelly nodded. "I can be sexy too..."

"I know."

Kelly wrapped her arms around the taller blonde, pulling her on top of her as she rolled onto her back.

Carrie giggled as she looked down at her, "Is this you being sexy?"

Kelly nodded.

"Well...you need to be getting up for rehearsals, so why don't you come be sexy in the shower with me?"

Kelly's eyes lit up.

Carrie smiled, kissing her forehead. "You are seriously too ador--sexy," she quickly corrected.

"Very sexy?" Kelly asked, her voice still rough from sleep, her accent thick.

Carrie shivered slightly, her heart racing. It definitely amazed her how quickly the girl beneath her could switch from one demeanor to the next unknowingly. "Very, very sexy," she agreed.
