Chapter Nine.

Hi again, all. Thank you so much again for your comments, I really really fucking appreciate it with every fibre of my being. It means the world to me that you take the time to read the story, let alone comment it too! Thank you for being so patient with me – I do have the chapters, I’m just lazy! hahaha

This chapter is the first chapter that actually attempts to deal with getting high and other drug related shit ... so ... just be aware, if you need to be, that this chapter is pretty much all about drugs. And its badly written hahahahaa

Thanks again, I hope you enjoy. More will be up soon I promise!

Chapter 9

Jake had been happy to hear that Wil was joining his ‘gang’, especially after he’d revealed a little too much to him for having only just met him. He’d decided they should celebrate by getting high.

JD, Angel, Nick and Jake were at a house that Wil had never seen before, but everyone else seemed familiar with. Wil was told that only they would use this house for now, but later, more people would come round, hoping to buy or sell whatever they can get their hands on.

“So this is like a crack house?” he asked.

“Yeah, I guess so,” Angel answered, tipping a small plastic zip bag up, spilling little white crystals onto a mirror he had on his lap. “Nick, you got a tooter?”

Nick pulled a banknote out of his pocket and rolled it into a thin tube, handing it to Angel, “Here you go.”

He nodded in thanks and took the note off of Nick. Wil watched in wonderment at what Angel was doing.

Angel got on his knees next to a small coffee table in the middle of the room. He put the mirror down carefully, and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a credit card that Wil thought he must have stolen, and carefully divided the powder into a neat line.

Angel saw Wil staring and smirked, “Never seen this before huh?”

He shook his head, “no.”

“Watch and learn.”

He placed the banknote at the end of the powder line and leant down so his nostril covered the other end. He sniffed with all of his might, and the line was gone in two seconds flat. Wil’s eyes grew wide as he stared. The man was snorting something.

Cocaine, Wil thought. How could I have not seen that coming? What else do you do with a fucking line of white powder …

Angel sat in the same spot for a few seconds, before jumping up and grinning wildly.

“Woooweee that was some goooood shit!” he shouted, jumping around.

Jake came into the room after having went upstairs as soon as they’d gone into the house. He laughed at seeing Angel’s state.

“Look at that crazy bastard,” he laughed more, like a proud father. “That must have been good stuff.”

“You ain’t joking Jakey boy!” Angel enthused once again. He got up and sat next to Wil, looking at him, “Man it’s hot in here. It is, isn’t it? It’s not just me; it is actually really hot in here isn’t it?”

“Sure,” Wil answered apprehensively. He shuffled over on the seat, closer to where JD was sat. “What is wrong with him?”

“Coke makes you feel hot. And restless. He gets them in extremes.” Seeing Wil’s worried face, he added, “Don’t worry, it only lasts for like, 20 minutes.”

“Isn’t everything so wonderful right now Wil?” Angel pondered. “The World seems so perfect, not one thing to worry about …”

“Why aren’t you doing anything?” Wil asked JD, noting that Angel was completely gone and Nick looked well on his way.

“I’m waiting for Jake to get the needles ready.”

“You shoot up?”

“The needle is your friend, man.” He laughed a dirty laugh.

“What does it feel like?”

“Heaven. Absolute Heaven. You should try something Wil.”

“I … I couldn’t.”

“Course you could. It’s as straightforward as that,” Jake pointed to the table where the mirror and the credit card lay.

“You won’t regret it!” Angel sang happily, climbing on the sofa.

“Here, I’ll cut you a line.” JD offered, going over to where Angel had been using. “You ever done anything before?”

“Only weed. I thought I was bad for doing that.”

“You’ll learn.”

“I guess.”

“Here,” he stood away from the table, pointing at the line like a piece of art. “All you do is breathe in really hard through your nose. You’ll love the feeling Wil.”

Feeling. I’d give anything for feeling.

As he walked towards the table, he felt like everything slowed around him. It almost felt like every bad thing he’d ever done was being erased and replaced by this. He knew already that this was going to be his life, and he hadn’t even touched the stuff yet.

As he knelt at the table and picked up the note, all he could think was: There’s no way life could get any worse. I want some feeling. I want a new thrill. I’ve got no one to destroy except myself and I’m going to make sure I do. It’s all I deserve.

And with one swift sniff, the drugs had gone, and so had the pain.
