chapter 9

hey all. i'm having a lot of trouble writing this now cos writers block has hit so if anyone has any requests or ideas for how the story should progress i'd love to hear them.

this is for my little pixie as usual for always being supportive and sending me pics of ville and bam whenever i need insperation!!!

Bam made the walk back home, each step making him more and more nervous until he finally found himself on his doorstep but unable to bring himself to go in. Suddenly the door swung open from the inside and Ville stood there, still trying to protect himself from the fading rays of sunshine.

"You can't stand out there forever you know." He stated, leaving the door open and starting back down the hall. "You're lucky you didn't attract all the vampires in town here, your heart was pounding so loudly." Ville's face was emotionless but his voice was clipped and forced, like he was talking to a stranger or someone he didn't like.

"Ville...."

"Your parents are home from work and dinners ready." He interupted, not wanting to hear anything that Bam had to say just then and Bam didn't force it, instead he just followed him into the kitchen where Ape was putting food on the plates.

Both of them ate in silence, only broken when Ape or Phil asked them a question and halfway through the meal Bam couldn't stand it any more and excused himself from the room. Once he was in the sanctuary of his bedroom, he quickly locked the door and left the key in the door. He knew Ville was angry with him and he wasn't sure how the mentally unbalanced vampire would deal with his anger.

He heard footsteps coming down the hall and he tensed as the person stopped outside his door, but after a few long seconds, they moved away. After about an hour passed and Ville had gone out to his fake job, Bam finally relaxed enough to have a bath. He was lucky enough to have the only bedroom in the house with an en suite bathroom and he loved to be able to relax in a long, hot bath with no one to disturb him.

He lay there until the his skin wrinkled and the water started to go cold, and only then did he empty out the water and dry himself off. He wrapped a towel around his waist, stifling a contented yawn as he wandered back into his room and picked his door key up off his bed, putting it back on the nightstand.

Wait, the key was on his bed? He knew he'd left it in the lock. Realization sinking in, he spun around only to be thrown roughly onto his bed. He tried to sit up, in order to get away but one of Ville's cold hands wrapped itself around his throat and pinned him against the mattress. Ville was wearing his demonic face and he leaned in close to Bam as he started tightening his grip around Bam's throat.

"You shouldn't play games with vampires little boy." He hissed through his fangs.

"I...I wasn't, I swear." Bam begged as he felt his airways beginning to close up from the pressure on them. "I was....just......scared." He clawed desperately at Ville's hand as it became harder and harder to breathe. His lips were getting a blue tint to them and Ville leant over and kissed them lovingly.

"Are you sorry?" He asked softly, anger still evident in his voice.

Bam nodded as well as he could considering the situation and he could have cried in relief as Ville immediately let go. Gulping in big lungfuls of oxygen, he tried to pull himself as far away from the vampir as possible.

"Bam, get back over here." Ville ordered as the skater attempted to climb off the other side of the huge bed. When he refused, Ville leant over, using his vampiric speed, and grabbed hold of his wrist, pulling him back so violently that Bam fell across the bed.

He dragged Bam up the bed and into his lap, grabbing a handful of the boys hair and yanking his head back sharply, ignoring the choked cry of pain it recieved.

"Where did you run off to?" Ville asked, his voice dangerously calm and his golden eyes glittering with madness and anger.

"Nowhere, I just went for a walk." Bam stuttered out nervously.

"Don't lie to me." Ville replied furiously pulling hard on the handful of hair that he still held, and this time Bam couldn't repress a yell of pain.

"Bam? Are you ok sweetie?" Ape's voice floated down the hallway.

Darting a fearful glance at Ville, he attempted to keep his voice calm as he replied. "I'm fine Ape, I just stubbed my toe."

"Ok, well can you keep it down please. You might be on holiday now but me and your dad still have to work early and we're trying to sleep."

"Uh, yeah sorry Ape."

Both men waited in silence until they heard Ape go back into her room and then Ville spoke again. "I could smell her all over you when you walked in the door, I know you've been with your ex all afternoon so don't fucking lie to me. If she even tried to touch you I'll kill her."

Bam's skull and neck were aching and he'd never been so scared in his life but he was still excusing Ville by reminding himself that Ville was insane and that he was understandably upset that Bam had ran away. It was these excuses he was making for Ville's behaviour that actually made him realize the extent of his feelings towards the vampire.

"Ville, listen to me please, all we did was talk I promise. Let go of me and I'll explain."

"If you were anyone else, I'd have ripped your throat out by now."

"Are you going to kill me?" Bam whispered, terror making him unable to speak.

"No. But only because I love you too much to kill you and not turn you. I haven't decided about her though."

Remembering the advice that Missy gave him, he gathered all the courage he had left and hoped he wouldn't somehow piss Ville off even more.

"If you want me to be with you and be able to love you, you need to trust me and stop threatening my friends." He said gently.

There was a silence between them for a few minutes before Ville let go of Bam's hair and shoved him onto his back against the pillows, straddling his body. It was only then that Bam noticed he'd lost his towel at some point and his naked body was pressed up close to ville's clothed one.

"And what's that supposed to mean my darling Bam?" Anger was still present in his voice but he'd calmed down enough to talk rather than use violence.

"Let me explain, please?"

Ville nodded but refused to move off Bam's body, half expecting the human to run again if he let him go.

"I ran because I was scared of what I'd just done." Bam admitted, not wanting to meet Ville's eyes.

"Why were you scared? We've had sex with each other before."

"I know but that was completely different. I could blame you because you forced me, but this time..."

"You couldn't blame anyone but you and you freaked out because you're not gay." Ville mocked.

"It's not my fault that I'm not as secure in my sexuality as you seem to be." Bam pouted, still too scared to be angry at him. "I did see Missy but nothing happened between us, I swear."

"Then what did happen while you were trying to run away from yourself?" Ville asked, casually tracing Bam's chest with the tips of his fingers.

"I saw her walking down the road and we talked about our breakup and we decided to be friends. We were sitting on her bed talking about you all afternoon."

"What did you tell her?"

"Everything apart from you being a vampire cause I don't think she could have handled that."

"Let me guess, she told you to go to the police." Ville scowled.

"She asked why I hadn't and I told her that I couldn't tell her why. But just before I left she said that maybe you were right about me being yours and she said that I'm in love with you and I just have to face it."

"Really? What do you think?"

"I think she's right." Bam whispered, his heart pounding.

"Looks like I won't have to kill her after all." Ville smiled. He lifted his hand to Bam's face, tracing the skaters plump lips as he spoke. "No more running away from me Bam, you're mine."

"I'm yours." Bam replied softly, his voice shaking with nerves.

"I thought you weren't gay." Ville teased, leaning forward so their foreheads were resting together.

"I'm not. Maybe just....maybe just for you."

Ville's reaction was instantaneous, his lips slamming down onto Bam's in a passionate kiss. Bam responded for a few moments and then pulled away gently so that Ville didn't think he was freaking out again.

"Listen, I know that I've accepted that I have feelings for you but this is still really new to me and it all makes me kinda scared so if I do freak out a little sometimes, please don't get angry."

"I've been patient enough to wait for you this long, now that I have you it won't be too difficult to wait for you to be comfortable with it." He got up off the bed, pulling Bam up with him and pushing down the covers. "Now, get into bed and get some sleep."

He went to leave the room but Bam's nervous voice stopped him. "You might as well sleep in here with me. I mean, if you want to, cause you always come in here during the night anyway."

Grinning happily, Ville made his way back over to the bed, removing his clothing before sliding under the sheets and curling himself around Bam's warm body, letting the heat and the sound of Bam's heartbeat lull him to sleep.

Neither man heard Ape calling up the stairs for Bam the next morning, nor did they hear her complain about how lazy her son was. What they did hear however, was her scream of shock when she pushed open the door to Bam's room and saw him cuddled up in bed with their male lodger.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? GET UP RIGHT NOW, BOTH OF YOU." Bam's face paled as he saw the look of horror on his mom's face.

"Get dressed and get downstairs now. I'm calling in sick from work and I want this explained, even if it takes all day." She turned round and quickly walked out of the room, calling for Phil as she went. Bam and Ville exchanged nervous looks as they quickly got dressed and ran down the stairs to try and calm Ape down.

As soon as they entered the lounge, Ape started a verbal attack on Ville. "You disgusting, filthy pervert. You make me sick, we trusted you enough to let you into our house and you repay us by taking advantage our our son? How dare you."

"Ape, he didn't take advantage of me." Bam protested, but she was so angry that she didn't want to listen to him.

"He's only just turned 16, he's still a child. I want you to get your things and leave and I don't want you anywhere near my son ever again."

"What? No, you can't do that. Please Ape, let him stay. He didn't take advantage of me, I promise." Ville watched silently as bam begged and pleaded with his mom. He wanted nothing more than to kill her and her husband for trying to seperate him from Bam just as he'd gotten him but he knew that if he tried to harm them, he'd lose him. Realizing there was only one thing to do, he turned towards Ape.

"I'll just grab my things and I'll leave straight away but you should know that I love your son and I'm not going to stop being with him just because you can't handle your little boy being with another man."

"I don't care what sexuality my son is but he's still young and you couldn't wait before getting into his bed could you? I'll make sure you never lay eyes on Bam again, no matter what I have to do."

"STOP IT." Bam yelled. "You can't kick him out Ape, he doesn't have anywhere else to go and I want him here."

"I don't care where he goes, I want you safe and I don't trust him with you."

Ville stepped forward to get to Bam but Phil stopped him. "You've already been told, don't come anywhere near our son."

Sighing heavily, Ville took a step back, before locking eyes with Bam. "Come here sweetheart."

Bam hesitated and Ape reached out a hand, wrapping it around his wrist as if to stop him from moving.

"Bam, they're not gonna let me come to you so you have to come to me. I don't want to leave without getting to say goodbye properly."

"You're really gonna go?" Bam sounded like a lost little boy and Ville's dead heart felt like it was breaking for him.

"I have to. If I refuse to leave it'll just make things worse. I won't go far baby, I promise."

Bam stepped forward, pulling his arm out of his mom's grip and moved round his father to where Ville was waiting. Wrapping his arms around Bam's waist, Ville pulled him closer, not caring what the other occupants of the room thought about him touching Bam.

"I'm not letting you go, despite what they want. You're mine darling and they can't keep us apart." He lowered his voice so that only Bam could hear him. "Remember the cemetary you always walk through? I'm gonna go back to the crypt there that I used to live in. I know it's not exactly comfortable but I can meet you there whenever you want."

He placed a lingering kiss on Bam's lips before reluctantly letting him go and going upstairs into his room to gather his belongings. He could hear Bam arguing with his parents and he hated that they were making his boy unhappy. Once everything was back in his bag, he headed back downstairs to find Bam waiting at the door for him.

"I'll come with you." He suggested hopefully.

"As much as I'd love that darling, I don't think you should. You don't want to upset your parents even more just yet, we'll still see each other almost as much as we have been, don't worry." Another loving kiss and Ville left, knowing that if he'd stayed much longer he would have ended up showing his true face to Bam's parents.

He walked carefully to the cemetary, keeping to the shadows and holding a coat over his head to protect him from the sun. He got back to his crypt and was glad to notice that none of the other vampires in town had taken over the place while he'd been gone.

Throwing his things onto the floor, he finally allowed his anger to be released, punching the wall hard enough for it to crack and his hand to bleed. He slid down the wall absentmindedly licking at the blood on his hand as he took in Bam's unique smell that still clung to him after laying next to him all night.

It made him feel like there was still a part of Bam with him and it calmed his anger and knowing that Bam was in love with him, made him confident that even though they were going to face a lot of problems, Bam would always come back to him.
