Demon In My View
Fine, I'll Go
Zack was violently pushed out of bed, he lay on the floor and waited, sure enough only a few seconds later there was a high pitched shriek and a laugh and then something grabbed his legs and swung him into the wall. Zack grunted when he hit the wall and closed his eyes as the three shadows that had been tormenting him for the past two weeks moved closer. He didn’t know what they looked like and he didn’t want to know, he always closed his eyes and waited for them to go away. His teeth chattered as the temperature in his room plummeted and the spirits drew closer.
He hadn’t told the guys, he was pretty sure they knew something was still bothering him but not even Matt seemed to be able to figure out what it was. The quiet whispery voices and laughs that had been harassing him every night since they got back from the asylum started up again; Zack couldn’t sleep when they whispered like that, their voices seemed to drill into his brain, it made him feel like he was going crazy. When he finally passed out from sheer exhaustion the nightmares woke him within the hour and they would start their haunting all over again. They were being worse tonight; the guys had been over most of the day so they hadn’t been able to torture him as much. They were always worse when he did anything with his friends, it was like his being happy just infuriated them and he had to suffer when he finally came home alone.
The phone rang, like it had been doing for the past three or four nights. Zack staggered to his feet and grabbed the wireless from the nightstand. If he didn’t answer it would just keep ringing and he would probably get cut again.
“Mr. Baker! I know its been difficult getting to sleep,” the cheerful woman chirped, “we can make it so much easier if you would come back to Wenely’s for only a short while.”
“I’m not going back.” Zack muttered tiredly sliding his hand down his face.
“Yes, yes, you’ve told us that many times now so because you seem to be so uncooperative we’ve decided to be a bit more persuasive.”
Zack yelped and almost dropped the phone when something burned his wrist, he looked down and then the phone did slip from his numb fingers.
DN392SE666. The bracelet he’d found more than two weeks ago was firmly latched onto his wrist. He shook his hand and then tried to pull it off, it didn’t budge, the plate glinted dully in the soft moonlight coming in from his window.
“As you can see, we’ve taken the liberty of admitting you to Wenely’s.” the woman’s faint voice drifted up to him from the floor. Zack slowly reached down and picked up the phone still staring at his wrist.
“Now if you continue to refuse our offer there will be consequences. I’m sure you don’t want Mr. Seward to join you at while you're staying with us.” the woman’s voice stayed bright and cheerful; Zack felt sick and he began to tremble in his cold room.
“Fine,” he whispered, “I’ll go.”
“Wonderful! Your flight leaves tomorrow at twelve-thirty, don’t be late, and have a wonderful night Mr. Baker.” The phone went dead in Zack’s hand. Zack put the phone back on the hook and fell heavily into his bed. The temperature in his room began to go up and soon it was comfortable again. Zack closed his eyes and for the first time in almost three weeks he slept undisturbed.
A/N: Yes, it’s very, painfully short but don’t fear! The next chapter should be pretty long and since I forgot my lab book I have two hours to start on it!
Since I don’t know how to message, or if you even can, on AFF; the story on Fanfiction.net is called ‘Zip, Flop, Oh My God’ (the title has nothing to do with the story I just couldn’t think of anything else to call it.) it’s a Transformers fic. My pen name on FF.net is, ItsBeenLovelyButIHave2Scream.
Thank you for your reviews, the last chapter should be up by Sunday ^_^
