chapter 9

The two weeks seemed to speed by as they spent their days exploring Helsinki and their evenings in the many bars and clubs although the Corona bar and Tavastia quickly became Bam's favourites. It was the evening that Bam was to properly meet Ville's parents and he'd spent the last two hours in Ville's bedroom searching the closet for something appropriate to wear. He was trying to decide between a blue shirt and a simple black tshirt when he heard a chuckle from the doorway.

"Are you still looking for an outfit? You've been in here ages." Bam turned to find Ville leaning against the doorframe grinning at him.

"I need something perfect to meet your parents in."

"I happen to like what you're wearing now." Ville smirked.

"I'm just wearing boxer shorts."

"Exactly."

Bam fought back a grin, trying not to let Ville know that he was amused. "I can hardly wear nothing but boxer shorts to your parents house, it hardly sets the right impression."

"Ok, fine. If you really want to wear clothes then I guess you can." Ville sighed in mock disappointment. "Have you decided what you're wearing yet?"

"No." Bam whimpered petulantly. "What do you think I should wear?"

"Does it matter?" Ville asked curiously as he walked over to the closet.

"Of course it matters, I want to make a first good impression, it's important that they like me."

"Darling, we've been over this. Both my parents will love you and you've already met my daddy so that's one less thing to worry about." He pulled out a pair of jeans and a black button down shirt as he was talking and handed them to Bam.

"Am I being a drama queen?" Bam asked as he pulled on the clothes that Ville had given him.

"Only a little bit but in a good way."

"How is it good?" Bam asked incredulously.

"Because you're even cuter than usual." Ville laughed. "Now come on, the taxi's here."

To Ville's amusement, Bm grumbled about being called cute the entire journey and only stopped when they pulled up outside the house. He stopped talking abruptly and the nervous tension was radiating off him so much that Ville thought he could almost feel it. Gripping his hand comfortingly, Ville pulled him up the path and through the front door without knocking, calling out for his parents as thy entered the hallway.

Bam heard the sound of rapidly approaching footsteps seconds before Ville found himself with an armful of his mother.

"Hi mamma!" He grinned, hugging her back.

"Hello my beautiful boy." She smiled, pulling back to kiss his cheek and look at him properly. "Look at you, you're so skinny. You never eat properly on tour." She admonished him gently, before turning her attention to Bam.

"Hello honey, you must be Bam. Kari told me that he met you last week, it's lovely to finally meet you." And to Bam's surprise, she enveloped him in a hug. Hugging back awkwardly, he met Ville's gaze over her shoulder, rolling his eyes when he mouthed 'told you so.'

"I'm almost done with dinner so why don't you show Bam round and by the time you're done we should be ready to eat." Anita suggested once she'd released Bam.

Nodding in agreement, Ville reclaimed Bam's hand and pulled him lightly away from his mother, giving him a brief tour of the modest house. Bam had been looking forward to seeing Ville's old bedroom but was slightly disappointed to find that it had been turned into a junkroom since he'd moved out.

"So when do I get to see bits of your childhood then?" Bam asked as they headed back towards the dining room.

"Like what?"

"I don't know, embarrassing school photo's, stories about funny things you did as a kid, that sort of thing. I've only seen you as this perfect rock star guy, there's got to be embarrassing and cute childhood stuff there somewhere."

"How about stories over dinner and we'll open the photo albums afterwards." Anita suddenly piped up, sticking her head out of the dining room door.

"Sounds perfect." Bam laughed as Ville groaned in horror.

"Mamma, you wouldn't." He pleaded, adding his best injured puppy look for good measure.

"If he thinks you're perfect then he could do with hearing some stories about your misspent youth." Anita chuckled. "Now come and eat your dinner before it gets cold."

Ville snorted inelegently at being spoken to like he was still a kid but followed her anyway, geeting his father as he slid into his seat.

"Hello again Bam." Kari smiled. "How have you been enjoying your holiday?"

"It's been great, Ville's been showing me all the sights. It's really beautiful here."

"So you haven't injured yourself tripping over the mountains of rubbish in our sons home yet?!"

"No it's not that bad." Bamreplied, knowing that he was lying slightly but not wanting to say anything against Ville.

"It's ok, I know it's a bit of a tip." Ville laughed knowing what Bam was doing. "I need to get a housekeeper or something."

"A demolition team might be easier." Kari teased his son, making Bam choke on repressed laughter.

He was actually having a great time, all his earlier worries seemed needless now since Kari and Anita had made him feel completely welcome from the minute he'd walked through the door. It was nice to be around a happy, loving family again after so long even if it wasn't his own."

"I'm glad you finally got together." Anita smiled. "All we've heard these last few months was 'Bam, Bam, Bam.' I was beginning to think he'd never do anything about it."

Ville flushed bright red but stayed silent, opting to glare half heartedly at her instead and Bam tried to hide his pleased smile.

"Doesn't it bother you a little that I'm a guy?" He asked nervously.

"Of course not, as long as our sons are happy thats all that matters. Besides, we always thought that Ville would end up with a man."

"What?" Ville yelped, shocked. "Why?"

"Lots of little things really, the makeup and the pictures of you kissing random men for a start. And remember when Molly Pritchard kissed you? You cried for two hours."

"Mamma, I was five years old and Jesse had told me that girls were evil, of course I cried. As for the guys, you know that those pictures are just us playing up to the cameras, all the guys in the band have done it."

"I know that darling, don't get so defensive. It's not a bad thing, we're just saying that we're glad you're happy and that we've had time to come to terms with the fact that you're bisexual."

"I know, and I'm glad that I always have your support." Ville smiled as he got up to help her clear the table. As soon as they were in the kitchen alone though, she pounced, knowing that she'd finally get some information about the man that had captured her sons heart.

"So, tell me everything." She said as she began putting on a pot of coffee.

"About what?" Ville played innocent but Anita didn't let him get away with it for long.

"You know what Ville Hermanni Valo, your boyfriend. You usually tell us everything but you haven't said a word about how you both met or anything like that."

Ville sighed. He knew his mother wouldn't give up until she knew everything and if he didn't answer her then she'd just ask Bam. something he didn't want him to have to relive. As quickly as he could he told her everything from finding him on their tourbus to coming to Finland for a break. He hadn't even realised that a few tears had escaped him until his mother had wiped them away.

"The poor boy. How can someone so young have been through so much? Make sure you look after him, he's going to need someone to lean on now."

"I know mamma, I won't let him get hurt again."

They carried the coffee through to the lounge where Kari was in the middle of showing Bam Ville's childhood photo's as promised. As they came across one of a four year old Ville sitting in a paddling pool with chocolate icecream all round his mouth Bam looked up at him and grinned but Ville noticed that it didn't quite reach his eyes and he made a mental note to keep an eye on him for the rest of the evening.

A couple of hours later, Ville noticed that Bam was closing in on himself more and more so he made his excuses to his parents and they left. It was earlier than they'd planned to leave but Bam was worrying him and he wanted to find out what was wrong. To anyone else Bam would have seemed fine but Ville knew him better. He'd been getting quieter and quieter as the evening wore on and his smiles had been fake and brittle.

His concern doubled when Bam didn';t say a single word the entire journey home and he started to get ready for bed as soon as they got back. Deciding that something needed to be done, Ville sat down on the bed to wait for Bam to come out of the bathroom. He knew Bam was avoiding him by spending as long in the bathroom as he could but eventually he came out shirtless and in the sweat pants he used to sleep in.

"Ok Bammie, what's wrong?" Ville was too worried to be subtle.

"Nothing, I'm just tired."

"You know, that would be more convincing if you'd actually look at me."

"I'm fine." Bam answered, climbing into bed.

Ville watched in disbelief as Bam turned away from him and switched off the lamp without even bothering to say goodnight. Frustrated, Ville leant over Bam's body and switched the lamp back on, pulling Bam towards him so they were face to face.

"There's been something wrong with you since we were at my parents and I want to know what it is. I told you before that I would try and fix anything that was bothering you but I can't do that if you don't tell me what it is I need to fix."

"It's stupid." Bam muttered petulantly.

"It's not stupid if it's bothering you."

"Do you really kiss loads of random men?" Ville was confused about the apparent change of subject for a moment until he realised the significance.

"Sweetheart, is that what's bothering you? That was long before I met you, and you heard me tell Mamma that none of that meant anything."

"Exactly."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing."

"Bam, please telll me what's going on in your head."

Bam stayed silent for a while and Ville began to think that he wasn't going to get an answer, but finally he began to speak.

"Am I just one of those guys?"

It was suddenly all too clear what had gotten Bam so upset and Ville's heart ached. "No, never. I love you so much Sweetheart, you mean the world to me and you'll always be far too important to me to be one of those guys, I promise. Do you believe me?"

"Yes." Bam sighed. "I'm being stupid again aren't I."

"Of course not. You haven't had any reason to trust people in a long time, it makes sense that you'll worry occasionally. If you ever feel like this again though, I'd rather that you tell me rather than keeping it to yourself, that way I can make it better quicker."

Bam finally gave a a genuine smile. "Ok, I promise I'll tell you. Now, are you coming to bed?"

Ville nodded, smiling at the blush that still crept across Bam's face whenever he talked about them kissing or being in bed together. "I'll be with you in a couple of minutes."

Ville was as good as his word. A few minutes later Bam felt the bed dip as Ville got in behind him and a pair of arms wrapped themselves around his waist, pulling him against his boyfriend's body. Soft lips dropped a kiss onto his bare shoulder and he shivered slightly in anticipation.

"Are you tired sweetheart?" Ville whispered in his ear.

"Not really, are you?"

Ville's hands were rubbing small circles on his torso, moving closer and closer to the waistband of his sweatpants and he was aware that the intimate caress was making his voice tremble slightly. Ville noticed it too and he chuckled against Bam's neck.

"No, me neither." Suddenly the hands on his stomach moved and swiftly pushed his sweatpants down his legs where he helpfully kicked them off, sending them down to the end of the bed, his heart pounding so loudly that he thought Ville would be able to hear it.

It wasn't that he was scared, he just felt nervous that he couldn't see Ville's face, it made his overactive imagination run wild, made him think for a few moments that maybe Dan had gotten in somehow and that he was there to hurt him again. Ville must have been a mind reader though because, just as he was about to panic, Ville moved him so he was on his back with Ville leaning over him.

"Are you ok?"

"I am now." At Ville's confused look he couldn't help but laugh slightly. "I'll tell you later, it's not important right now."

When Ville hesitated, Bam took the initiative and pulled him down into a gentle kiss, as always a little awed at himself for being bold enough to make the first move. When they finally broke the kiss, Bam expected Ville to reach for the lube he kep in his bedside table but to his suprise, Ville moved down his body until he was settled between Bam's legs with his head resting on his thigh.

"What are you doing?" Bam asked, then immediately felt stupid for asking such an obvious question but Ville only smiled at him coyly before moving his head slightly and licking a broad strip up the length of Bam's cock. It was the only warning he got before Ville took his entire length in his mouth, humming softly and sending vibrations straight through him.

Bam gripped the sheets as tightly as he could, not wanting to hold Ville down, he knew how that felt and it wasn't nice but Ville's talented mouth was making it difficult for him to keep control and one hand eventually slipped down to entwine itself gently into Ville's hair. He practically sobbed in pleasure as Ville swallowed hard around him, one finger moving down to tease his entrance and he came harder than he thought possible, white spots flashing behind his eyelids as he tried to control his breathing.

Looking over at Ville he realised that his lover had been stroking himself at the same time and that he was close. He shivered with renewed lust as Ville locked eyes with him, still stroking his aching erection. He felt slightly guilty that he wasn't even touching Ville but the image in front of him was so erotic that it had him frozen in place.

He knew that Ville needed one little push to get him over the edge and he knew just what to say to get him there. "Next time we do this, I want to taste you."

It worked. Bam watched enthralled as Ville came, his essence spilling out over his hand, his usually pale skin flushed. They both lay still for a while, neither one having the energy to move but eventually Ville sat up again, swinging his legs round so he could get back out of bed.

"Where are you going?" Bam hated how needy his voice sounded but he couldn't ignore the huge insecure part of him that taunted him relentlessly about Ville leaving him to find someone better.

"I'm just going to clean up a bit otherwise it's going to be disgusting in the morning." Ville smiled softly, obviously knowing what was going through Bam's head but still being as patient and caring as always with him.

Despite his heavy eyelids, Bam tried to stay awake until Ville came back just so he could sleep knowing that he was sleeping wrapped in Ville's arms but even before the sound of the shower cut off, he was asleep.
