Chapter 91

+++++++++

"Plymouth?" Carrie asked, looking out the window as she knelt on the sofa.

"Yep," Kelly nodded, standing right behind her.

"Is this what Plymouth Rock was named after?" Carrie turned her head to look over her shoulder.

"I don't know, maybe so."

"Well, that's neat," she turned back to look out the window.

Kelly smiled, kissing the top of her head. "So we have the day off today. Do you want to go shopping?"

"Do you think that's a good idea?" Carrie sat down, facing her.

"I know you like shopping, and for once I'm actually in the mood to, so yes, I think it's a very good idea."

"I know, but what about the people?"

"What about them?"

"I just don't want what happened the other day to happen again."

"I'll behave," Kelly assured. "And it's not gonna be just me and you. Ashley, Jill, Kate, and Jason are all coming."

"Jason's coming?"

"He thinks the accents over here are so hot," she rolled her eyes.

Carrie laughed softly, "Shopping does sound good."

"Good," Kelly grinned as Carrie pulled her down onto her lap.

"So, you're gonna behave, huh?" Carrie's eyes danced as her fingers walked up the Texan's thigh.

"Well...when it comes to other people, I'll totally behave," she nodded.

"And when it comes to me?" Carrie asked as they both subconciously leaned in.

"All the self-control in the world couldn't stop me from misbehaving with you," she replied, pressing their lips together in a warm kiss.

++++++++++

"Baby, no..." Carrie pouted.

"Please," Kelly smiled.

Carrie rolled her eyes, taking the dress and walking into the dressing room.

"Ok, so," she turned to Jason. "It's all set up?"

"Yes, dinner at seven. The entire restaurant is y'alls. Violinists. Roses. The whole shibang."

"Good," Kelly smiled.

"So what's this for again?"

"We've just been going through a lot, and she's been amazing through it all. I figured she deserved a treat for tonight."

"Who knew you'd turn out to be such a romantic?"

"Not me, that's for sure," she laughed softly as Carrie walked out in the dress. She scrunched her nose, "Nah, nevermind."

Carrie narrowed her eyes at her.

"Well, you're gorgeous, obviously. The dress just can't handle you."

"You suck at this shopping thing, you know that?" Carrie shook her head before walking back into the dressing room.

"So where to next?" Jason asked.

"I don't know. You'll have to ask Ashley. She's in charge today."

"Where'd they go?" he asked, looking around for the other Texan and the two backup singers.

"I don't know," Kelly shrugged.

"Kell, come help," Carrie called out from the dressing room. "I can't get the zipper."

"Ok," she replied before turning to her brother. "Why don't you go see if you can find where they ran off to? I'll help blondie in there."

"Alright," he laughed before walking away.

Kelly walked into the dressing room, making sure to lock the door before she turned around. "Y-you don't seem to be having zipper problems," her jaw dropped as she stared openely at Carrie who was standing there in a black lace bra with matching panties.

Carrie smiled, reaching out and pulling her closer, "I figured you owed me after making me try on that dress."

"It wasn't that bad," she replied, staring at her chest as Carrie wrapped her arms around her.

"It looked like a prom dress from the eighties--poofy sleeves and all."

Kelly nodded, her gaze still fixed.

"Baby," Carrie laughed softly.

"I like this bra," she nodded, tracing a finger along the top edge of it. Her finger was replaced by her lips as she kissed her way across the soft skin.

"Kell..." Carrie breathed, running a hand through her hair.

Kelly kissed her way down to her stomach, her hands trailing down the country singer's sides as she leaned back against the wall.

"We have time?" Carrie asked, her head spinning as Kelly knelt before her, kissing her through the thin piece of material.

Kelly didn't reply as her hands moved down over her hips, hooking her underwear as they went, pulling them down. Carrie shivered slightly at the look in the Texan's eyes when she looked up at her before starting to kiss her again. Carrie bit down on her bottom lip, her eyes closing.

"Miss," there was a knock on the dressing room door.

Kelly groaned as she pulled away, sitting back on her feet.

"Miss, are you finished in there? Someone else needs the dressing room."

"One...one minute," Carrie managed to reply.

"Seriously?" Kelly replied, helping to dress the country singer.

"It's ok," Carrie touched her cheek as she stood back up.

Kelly frowned as she helped her with her shirt.

"Kell, it's ok," Carrie laughed softly.

"I just wanted to..."

"Aw," Carrie smiled, wrapping her arms around her neck and pulling her into a hug. "I know how much you love me. You don't have to show me 24/7."

"I know," she rested her head against her shoulder. "But I still want to."

There was another knock on the door.

"I said one minute," Carrie fussed harshly.

"Sorry," they heard Jason reply nervously. "Just wanted to say I found Ashley and them, and we're ready to go."

"Shoot," Carrie kept an arm around Kelly as she reached forward, opening the door. "Jason, I'm sorry. I thought you were the lady that worked here. I didn't mean to yell at you."

"Oh, it's ok," he smiled. "Just glad to know I'm not on your hit list. Is she ok?"

"Yea," Carrie squeezed Kelly's shoulders affectionately. "Just a little disappointed, but she's fine."

"So, I take it the lady that works here is on your hit list?"

"Definitely," Kelly nodded.

"Dang," Carrie stretched. "Long day."

"Yea," Kelly agreed. "Remind me again why I agreed to this?"

"Because you're crazy."

Kelly smiled as Carrie kissed her forehead softly.

"I can't wait to get back to the bus."

"Actually, we were gonna go eat then go back," Jason cut in.

"Do we have to?"

Kelly hid her pout, "We don't have to if you don't want to, but are you sure? The place we're going is really nice."

"I'd much rather just get in bed and snuggle up with you," Carrie admitted.

"Alright," Kelly nodded.

"But--" Jason began.

"It's fine," Kelly cut him off. "Why don't y'all just go eat, and I'll go back with her to the bus?"

"Kelly," Jason pulled her off to the side. "What about your reservations?"

"Y'all just take them. The place really does have good food. I'm sure y'all will enjoy it."

"Are you sure?"

"There's not point of taking her to this elaborate set up when all she wants to do is relax. I'll do it again another time," Kelly nodded.

"Alright, y'all be safe getting back."

"Always," she smiled.

++++++++++

Kelly kissed the top of Carrie's head as the country singer lay wrapped around her.

"What's on your mind?"

"Everything."

"Like?"

"I've been with you longer than I've been with anybody else."

"It'll be nine months in like a week."

"Really?"

She nodded.

"Thank God you're not one of those girls that celebrates like every week as an anniversary or something. I'm so lost when it comes to dates. I'm lucky if I even know what year we're in with how busy my schedule gets some times."

Carrie laughed softly.

"When you think about it, nine months really isn't that long which is funny because it feels like forever."

"Gotta love drama."

"Care, how are you?"

"Perfect," she sighed in content, kissing her neck.

"Are you sure? Because I know that a lot's been going on, and you've just kept it so together."

"That's just how I am."

"I know, I just...I still feel sometimes that you don't open up to me which is funny seeing as I was the one with the hard time letting you in."

"Baby, I'm just...that's how I am. I don't know how else to say it. I'm not, not opening up to you, I just don't let things get to me like you do."

Kelly frowned, sitting up.

"I didn't mean it like that," Carrie sat up as well. "I just meant that I'm not an emotional person. I never was, but I do love you, and what's going on does hurt me. I just deal with it differently."

"I just wish you'd let me help you deal with stuff sometimes."

"You do. Kell, you do all the time. You may not realize it, but you help me so much. Remember when I got kicked off my tour how upset I was?"

"You were upset for like a day," Kelly pointed out. "Then all of a sudden you were happy go lucky again, like nothing had ever happened."

"Yes, and do you know why?"

She shook her head.

"Because of you. I was talking to Jill and Kate, and I realized how lucky I am to have you in my life, and I realized how much you truly love me, and that just made it seem like nothing else mattered. The only thing that mattered was that I had you, and that we were together."

Kelly sniffed back a tear.

"I know it seems that sometimes I don't get as emotional about stuff as you do, but that's not true. I just show it differently, and if you feel like I don't go to you for help enough, that's not true either. That, just now, me laying with you, that was you helping me. I can forget about all that mess and drama when you're beside me."

Kelly gave a small smile.

"You're ok now?"

She nodded, "Sorry for getting upset with you."

"Don't be. If you ever stop getting upset and stop caring about this relationship, that's when we have a problem."

Kelly nodded as Carrie laid back down, pulling her with her.

"So, what got you thinking of all that to begin with?"

"Nothing."

"Kell..."

"I just know how hard this is on me, so I figured it's just as hard on you, so I had planned out this elaborate dinner for just the two of us. I rented out the entire restaurant, and there was a small string section, and flowers, and I just thought it would be a nice romantic night for the two of us that we both needed, and instead we ended up here on the bus, watching I Love Lucy on dvd and eating leftover pasta from yesterday."

"Aw, sweetie, why didn't you tell me you had something planned?"

"It was supposed to be a surprise," she shrugged. "And you said you wanted to come back here instead of go out somewhere to eat, so I just told Jay to take the reservations themselves."

"Kell, I'm sorry. If I had known you went through all that trouble, I would've gladly gone eat with you."

"It's ok," she shrugged. "In a way it worked out, cause I'm glad we got to have this talk."

"Me too," Carrie agreed, kissing her lightly. "I love you."

"You too."

"With all my heart and soul."

"With all my heart and soul," Kelly agreed with a smile.

"And I want so spend the rest of my life with you."

"Me too."

"Marry me," Carrie whispered.
