Comfortable

"Dear John, I think about you all the time still. Your smile, your voice, your laugh. All of it was completely perfect to me. We met too young and fell in love too fast I guess. We both had tmepers that got the best of us. But you could always make me laugh, haha, even during the middle of a huge fight. You would say something so incredible off the walland random and make me fall for you all over again and forget whatever it was I was angry about. I would just bust out laughing, no matter how hard I tried to hold it in. I think about you alot, What city you're in now, How you're doing, Am I ever on your mind? First loves die hard I guess. We haven't spoken or seen each other in so long now. You're busy on tour and I am busy trying to make it in my one bedroom apartment in uptown LA. You're on the news everynow and again, and every now and again I'll see your stuff on VH1. I even have most of your music on CD's, even a recording of that little bit you did on NSYNC, ha, that was funny. Life got kinda empty there for a while without you in, but I adapted, I always do. Today would be 9 years since I last saw you, September 22nd. Yeah, I know I can still remmeber the exact date, but hey, whne youre first everything is John Mayer, I guess you would. I kind of always knew you were going to make it big, I remember thinking it time after time while watching you play the guitar late at night. I don't even know why I am writing this, I know you'll never read it. It will just sit in my diary like every other letter I have written you these past 9 years, God I miss you"

A sharp knock at the door interrupted Skylar's thoughts.

"Come in" she yelled over her shoulder "Its open"

"Skylar?" a voice yelled from inside the doorway "Jesus its 100 degrees here, I'm fucking dying"

"Sarah!" Skylar screamed, running to the door, "Well it is L.A. not Connecticut silly" she said with a laugh as she closed her apartment door.

"OKay, let me look at you" Sarah said after hugging her "damn girl you are skin and bones, Do they not feed you in L.A?"

Skylar laughed and smiled at Sarah, "It's the price you pay as a struggling photographer" she said moving Sarah's bags out of the doorway.

Sarah nodded and motioned for Skylar to sit down next to her on the couch.

"So" SKylar said sitting, "Anything exciting happen in Fairfield while I've been gone?"

Sarah laughed and rolled her eyes,"Aside from the Mayor breaking his ankle, No not really. I mean John came back over the Holiday break, I saw him New year's Eve, his parents threw a big party."

Skylar paused for a moment before answering Sarah. "That's nice" she said trying hard to sound un-interested.

"He asked about you" Sarah said glancing sideways at her friend.

Skylar laughed, "Oh really?" she said non-chalantly making her way into the kitchen.

"Yeah" sarah answered turning around on the cough to face skylar "And don't pretend like you don't give a shit, I know you do!"

"No I really don't" Skylar said filling up a glass of water "I'm over it"

"Don't try and bullshit me Skylar Elise Matthews" Sarah said pointing at her "I know you too well"

Skylar laughed and sipped her water "I'm not bullshitting you" she said.

"Fine then, stubornass" Sarah said getting up from the couch "Why do you have every fucking thing he has ever done recorded on CD's, Tapes and DVD's?"

Skylar bit her lip and said "I like the music?" in a questioning tone.

Sarah shook her head at Skylar and gave her the "uh huh, sure" look. "well" she said entering the kitchen "then you'll be happy to know at the end of this month he is doing a HBO performance that you cna record and add to your collection"

"I know" Skylar said turning away "Jason is shooting the Promo pictures for HBO"

"You're fucking kidding me, right? Sarah said in shock "Wait that means.."

"Yes I know, it means that since I am the assistant I will be on the set making sure everything is running smoothly" Skylar answered interrupting her.

Sarah laughed and shook her head "Well actaully" Sarah said "I was kind of leaning towards the fact you'll be in the room with your fiancee and John, your ex at the same time!"

"I'm trying not to think about that too much" SKylar said sighing deeply. "I'm concentrating more on how financially stable I am going to be after this" she said pausing. "I mean I am taking half of the pictures for the shoot, Jason has to dip out early"

"Oh my gosh" Sarah said covering her mouth "Does John know yet?"

"No, but he will tommorow" Skylar said quietly "Its day one of the shoot"

Sarah laughed before saying "Oh this is going to be good."
