Mistaken chapter 1
Authors note: This features one of my Fave Actors Kiefer Sutherland, yummy! I got this idea while watching Young guns II, I can totally see him as a college Professor.
"I dont understand why he is so hard on you ?" Valeire tired to console her friend after a bad grade. Katie just shook her head and tried to hold back tears.
"I'm telling you. Professor Sutherland hates me!" Katie felt tired and just wanted her last class to be over and done with. She realzed that she had his class last. "And just my luck I get stuck with his class at the end of the day. Can't I just crawl in a hole and die?" Katie griped, walking into the classroom. Professor met her with disapproving glare then returned his gaze to his notes while speaking.
"If everyone is done griping, I would like to start. Or would you like to find that hole, Katherine?" She hated it when he called her Katherine then at the same time it sounded so sexy rolling off his tongue. No one except Valerie knew she had a major crush on Professor Sutherland. Katie sunk in her chair a little bit and tired to laugh it off. The Professor only smiled and continued with his lecture. Katie pulled out her recorder and began taking notes. She always taped his lessons because without fail she would find her self daydreaming about that gorgeous man standing in the front of the class room. This day was no different. She snapped out it just in time to catch the assignment for next class.
"I want everyone to write a poem involving a specific emotion or feeling. It is due next class." He turned back to his desk signaling the end of the lecture. They had ended early today so he let them have time to look over the chapter before filing out into the hallway.
"I'll write one about how I stuck a pen in your eye." Katie muttered but not quietly enough because Valerie began giggling.
"Something funny Miss Pitman?" Keifer asked outloud.
"No sir." the bell rang and everyone began to hightail it out of class. "Katherine stay behind." He said in an angry tone. He wanted to get this over with.
Valerie looked at Professor. He was frowning and she almost thought she saw a flash of nervousness. This man was never nervous.
"Give me your pen!" Valerie demanded.
"Why?!" Katie asked loudly and then immediately quieted down. "Why?"
"Becuase I don't want you to stab him with a pen. In fact give me all your pens and pencils too." She handed over her box of pens and pencils. Val coughed and pointed to the one holding up her hair. Professor slammed both fist down on his desk causing both ladies to jump, Katie had let out a yelp.
"Ladies, I dont have all day!" He said thorugh clenched teeth. He looked up to see Katie pull the pen out from her hair and try to make her hair behave by running her hands through it.
'I bet it is soft. Wonder what my hands would feel like . .Stop it! She is a student!' He cursed himself for this weakness. He had never felt this way about a student since he had started teaching.
Valerie walked quickly out of the room not even looking at the professor as she walked by. Whatever was going to happen she did not want to be in there. Katie had walked up to his desk and stood waiting for him to acknowledge her. She firgured him for the kinda man that would go for a dom/sub relationship, so she knew her place.
"Sit down." He motioned to the seat infront of his desk. Katie had many dreams that started out like this but she had a large feeling this was different.
"Katherine, your work lately hasn't been what I expected. Your spacing out in class, you barely pay attention. I dont know what is going on. I think it would be best for you . ." And Me! " . . if I transfered you to a less challenging class."
"How. . . How can that be ? I bust my ass in this class!" She felt her heart being ripped into two pieces and she was having trouble breathing. Keifer didn't seem to take notice, he was to busy writing her a transfer slip. He held it up without even looking her in the face.
"Mother Fucker." She mumbled under her breath not catching the flinch from the man standing at the desk.
She reached for strength to walk out of the room. No matter how much it hurt let alone to stand. She made herself walk away, she wouldn't let this idiot see her cry.
Valerie returned an hour later to an abnormaly quiet room. Once she opened the door she heard crying. She rushed in the room to find Katie curled up on her bed crying.
"Whats wrong Katie? You ok ?"
"No. Professor told me to transfer. He says my work is slipping. I know it was just a silly crush but it doesn't hurt like one Val."
"Sweetie, I had no idea."
"Val . .I think I love him. I know its crazy but . ."
"Say no more. I know sweeite. It would be hard not to fall in love with a man like him. That sexy smile does me in everytime." Katie smiled for the first time in hours and Val laughed. "So good to have my Katie back. Lets go shopping. I tell you what. I'll even go into Hot Topic with you." That got Katie out of bed like a jack rabbit on hot coals.
Keifer was partly relieved to see that Katie was not in her usuall seat the next day but slightly confused at the sight of Valerie still here. He would have figured that she would have left his class after hearing from Katie they way he had treated her.
Valerie saw her professor approaching but did not dare look at him. She was slightly angry with him for making Katie feel like an idiot.
"Where is Katherine? She was supposed to turn in her assignment."
"She gave it to me to give to you. Here is mine also. Anything else?" She had a hard time keeping the spite out of her voice.
"No. Class lets get the mindless chatter over with and start. Now, I want you all to look over chapter forty three and copy the notes written up on the board." He planned on grading the writings immediately. He turned through the pile trying to find a certain paper.
Wish, want, Crave, long
By Katherine Strouse
I wish I could be the mic standing in front of you
to be that close to your lips
but not close enough
to smell your sweet breath on me
would be heaven
I want to be the guitar you hold in your hands
to feel your fingers stroke my neck
and your strong hands hold my body
close enough to feel yours
I would scream with pleasure
I crave to be a piano in your reach
to feel your fingers glide on my keys
hit all the right notes and touch all the right spots
that would be ecstasy
I long to be the pen in your hand
to feel your grasp and smooth movements
to see your thoughts on paper
is there one of me?
Kiefer nearly groaned reading what Katie wrote. He could actually see her infront of him acting out each line of the poem. His left hand drifted down to his pants and pushed down on his growing erection. He needed to calm down, class was almost over and the students were going to see he had a large problem. Valerie was careful not to let it show that she was watching the professor. She watched him as he closed his eyes and his hand drifted dow under the desk. She didn't think he would do it right here. She knew that he was reading Katie's because he was mouthing the words. She couldn't wait to tell Katie.
Class had gone on slowly as humanly possible. Kiefer had trouble figuring out why. Katherine wasn't here to distract him. He dropped the arguement with himself and called out to Valerie.
"Yeah?" She asked as she lifted her head up from her book.
"Let Katherine know I need to speak with her after classes today."
"Sure thing Professor." As the bell rang Valerie jumped up to leave.
Valerie didn't stop until she reached the room. She put her key in the door only to stop. She felt someone behind her. She looked to see the Professor standing in the hallway watching her.
"That was really creepy." She said pausing in between each word.
"Is Katherine in?" what she felt like saying is'Of course dumb ass.' but she held her tongue and only nodded. She held her hand up to make him wait and then walked into the room to see Katie watching her favorite movie. She only watched it when she needed cheering up.
"Hey girl. Whats up? Still feeling sad?"
"Yeah. I can't believe he thinks that I'm slacking off. It hurts." Val smiled and turned so Katie couldn't see her.
"I have to go see Chris. He says he has lost his glasses and needs me to help him find them." Katie laughed.
"Thats his excuse this week. Man ya'll go at it like bunnies." Val laughed and walked out of the room making sure to let Professor in before she shut the door and locking it just in case. Katie turned back to the tv and continued watching her movie, laughing when the young boy shot up the talking order machine at a fast food joint. She noticed a figure standing behind her in the screen and when the screen darkened she saw who it was.
"What are you doing here? You could get in so much trouble."
"I keep telling myself that but yet I keep thinking about you." He mumbled and she cocked her head in confusion.
"What on earth are you talking about?"
"The reason I transfered you. I can't have you around me but yet it hurts even more when your gone." He almost sounded like a mad man. He walked up to Katie and motioned for her to sit at her desk and then pulled out Val's chair to sit in front of her. He had to remind himself to breathe. Here he was in her room with the door shut and all the daydreams he had in class were running through his head.
"There are certain things a teacher shouldn't think about one of his students. I lik you in a way I shouldn't. I love the way your mind thinks and how you write. Your last poem was amazing."
"Thanks." 'Thanks? thats all you can say to him, the object of your fantisies.' She yelled at herself. Here he was oozing sex and confidence and she was bumbling around like some idiot virgin. Kiefer leaned in, kssed her on the cheek and smiled. Katie blushed immediately and looked down at the floor.
"You ok?" She shook her head trying to see if this was a dream.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine." He didn't believe her, she looked lost. She felt something touch her shoulder and looked up to see him staring at her. "If you still want to be in my class you can." Part of him wanted her to say yes, so he could go on seeing her everyday. The other part wanted her to say no, so he could do to her what he been wanting to all day.
"I only took the class for the extra credits. It was a bonus when I found out who my Professor was." She smiled and grabbed his hand to hold it. "You better go. My RA is supposed to come around right about now for me to help her. I'll see you tommorow?" She asked not wanting to assume anything.he nodded and got up. She walked him to the door. He turned when he heard her call his name. She stood on her toes and hugged him around his neck. His arms went around her waist hesitantly. He relaxed as he felt her body mold into his. She fit perfectly against him. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the embrace and the feelings it brought. This was nice. She pulled away and smiled shyly.
"Bye Professor." He smiled, reached for her hand and lightly kissed it.
"Call me Kiefer."
"Ok Kiefer." He turned and walked out the door leaving her standing in the doorway watching him as he left.
"God please don't let him be joking, I don't wanna be played for a fool." She spoke quietly.
She had been so busy for the past month she never had time to sneek away and see him. The only time she would see him was passing in the hallway, when he would look her way and wink or give her a smile to stop her in her tracks. It was the last day to go home for Christmas break and she was stuck here. She had come to college with no family to say goodbye to, or to go home too when she had a holiday. Normally she would go home with Val. At that moment Val bust in the room grabbing her last suitcase.
"You sure you don't wanna come home with me? You know your always welcome."
"Yeah I know."
"Mom and John are finally gonna tie the not."
"Thats great. Tell them I said Congrats and good luck."
"Ok. You sure Katie? I'm gonna miss you."
"It is only five weeks Val. I will be fine. Go before you miss your plane." Valerie eyes her warily and then set down the case to hug her friend.
"You call me if your feeling down, ok? Call me anytime ok?" Katie nodded and urgged Valerie out the door.
"Love you girl." Valerie said very worried about her friend.
"I love you too. Bye." Katie said with a smile and shut the door as Val walked to the cab waiting outside.
Walking out of D-hall, she pulled her coat tighter around herself. The weatherman was calling for snow. She wished it would hurry up and get here so there would be a reason for it being so cold. Katie turned at the sound of her name being called and was surprised to find Kiefer still on campus. Her heart sped up and she started to fidget.
"All done for the day?" She tried to sound casual.
"Yes." He paused looking her over. She had nothing with her to assume that she was on her way home. " Why are you still here?" He didnt mean it to come out so curtly but it was too late to take it back.
"No one is home. I just want to stay here and get alot of winter cleaning done and apparently my writing needs some adjustment." She jokingly said. He knew she wasn't telling him the whole story. He knew more about her then he let on. She had walked off before he could even tell her that her idea of being alone was absolutely ridiculous. He dismissed the thought and walked to his car immediately. His phone rang as he placed his briefcase down.
"Hello Mother." He answered knowing it was here cuz only she had this number.
"Hello Honey, I am almost there. The plane is about to land . . ." She continued on with her conversation but he wasn't listening. His mind was still on how he could convince Katie to come home with him and not have his mother suspicious of his intentions at the same time.
"Your not hearing me son are you?" He saw no use in lying to his mother.
"Sorry Mother. I was thinking about a student I just ran into." He said as he started the car and headed towards the dorms.
"Why arent they home already? Didn't classes end yesterday?"
"She doesn't have anyone to go home to." He heard a small noise of disapproval on the other end of the phone.
"Well we are just going to change that. Tell her she is spending the holiday with us."
"Yes Mother." Kiefer didn't have to scheme this time. His Mother helped him out more than she knew.
"Okay son, well hurry on home now. I can't wait to meet her."
"Yes Mam." His mother was special woman. The best he knew, besides one that was currently occupying his thoughts more constantly then he would like to admit.
Katie was moving some files around in her room when she heard the knock on her door. She set them down on the bed and opened the door without bothering to see who was there before turning back to her task.
"Yes?" She asked grunting because the box was heavy.
"You weren't lying about the cleaning part were you?" She turned in surpirse and dropped the box on her foot.
"Shit!" she yelled as she hit the floor in obvious pain. Kiefer rushed to her, picked her up and placed her down on the bed. He sat for a moment watching her tend to her own injuries before his brain kicked in and he finished off the job.
As he was wrapping her ankle, she was breathing heavily trying to control herself. He lightly tied it off and finished moving the box across the room. He asked where she kept her suitcase and she pointed towards the closet.
