Out of the Shadows

As I walked along the darkened path toward the castle, the clouds overhead begin to rumble from the on coming storm. Shadows were everywhere,darkening every bush,tree and every nook and crannie as the castle loomed up before me. It's enormous, towers and turrets reaching up toward the stormy heavens.

As I entered the lavish gardens I could see that there were sculptures surrounded by multitues of flowers and trees. At the enterance of the labyrinth two winged gargoyles were sitting on their marbled pedestals, their cold eyes observing all who passed by.

In the center of both the maze and the garden were marbled fountains. I slipped into the abandoned castle seeking shelter from the oncoming storm. My clothes soon came off and I started a fire in the fireplace in one of the downstairs rooms. My dress was drying beside the fire as I walked around the castle.

I was amazed at how much furniture was still in the castle, I walked around, my eyes taking in the now fading art on the walls and the gothic style furniture. I found a bedroom during my exploring of the rooms. I fluffed the blankets to get the dust off and curled up yawning.

The storm raged outside my window, rain and hail pounding against the windowpane. I dreamt of a tall dark man, his long black hair hung past his shoulders. Though I had never met him, he was someone I knew.. someone I once loved. From another life perhaps..I don't know.

He came to me encased in the shadows of the night. His black attire blending in with the darkness as he stalks his prey. He is the hunter and I am the prey.. he placed his kiss upon my lips and I found myself floating on a cloud darkness.
