There's a Fine Line ALTERNATE ENDING

DISCLAIMER - I Do not own nor have no affilliation with anyone Famous mentioned in this fic!!

***********Note: When I started to write this fic I was pulled in two directions regarding where Rob and Lex would end up. Here's the other ending. It starts in Chapter Twenty-One but goes in a very different direction**************

"So you'll be alright? Are you sure?" Rob asked for the hundreth time.

"Yes. I'll miss you though." She said laying her head on his chest.

"Me too." He answered kissing the top of her head. He had to leave for Europe to promote his CD. He would be gone for two months. Since her show had been picked up by the studio she would be staying in LA. and staying with Rob.

"I'm going to be so lonely." She said. If she had asked he would have cancelled the whole promotional tour, just to stay with her. But she would never have asked that.

"We'll talk on the phone every night. And e-mail. It will go really quickly." He said.

"No it won't. But I'll sneak over a couple of visits." She said.

"Promise?" He asked.

"Promise." She answered. They held each other tightly before Rob's driver came over and told them they had to leave if Rob was going to make his plane.

"Talk to you tonight." He said. She nodded and kissed him quickly, holding back tears. He walked backwards to the car, waving at her. She laughed in spite of the fact she felt like crying.

"Be careful that's dangerous." She called out just as Rob, bumped his back into the open car door.

"Oww." He said rubbing the spot., before he got in. He then opened the window and leaned out and as the car pulled away, he shouted good bye to her. She waved back and watched the car disappear around the corner.

"This sucks." She said to herself. As she turned to go back inside the house. It seemed so empty and quiet without him. She grabbed her purse and decided to go to the studio and do some writing there. They had given her a nice cushy office and she would also be assigned co-writers to help with the scenes. She hoped that they wouldn't hijack her show and change it ail around.

Two days later she had her first meeting with the new writers. There were four of them. Three men and one woman. The woman's name was Rusty, which Lex found humurous as Rusty had white blonde hair, and didn't look like a Rusty at all. The guys were Tom, a short well built guy with dirty blond hair and a raunchy sense of humour. Colin, a tall good look man who was a bit on the chubby side and a Brit living in the US like Lex, And finally Nick, he was Greek and had black hair and dark skin with incredible eyes, they were almost silver. Lex could barely meet his eyes, he was so good looking The new writes had some good ideas and Lex was pleased to see that they weren't trying to change her characters into something eise.

"You promised." Rob said. He knew he sounded like a whinger but he didn't care.

"I know. But I really have to work on these episodes. They want to run new episodes of THE PRICE OF LOVE throughout the summer. Everything else is in repeats then, my show will have a chance to gain a lot of viewers." Lex told him.

"I know but I miss you so much." Rob said.

"Me too. It's only another month and you will be so busy you won't even notice I'm not around." She teased.

"I doubt it." Rob answered.

"Ha! With all those gorgeous women coming on to you. I'm surprised you even remember my name." Lex teased but there was a kernal of truth to her words.

"None of them can compare to you. Lex...I wanted to say this in person but I don't want to wait any longer." Rob started to say. Lex felt a knot of dread in her stomach. Was he going to break up with her?

"Wh..what is it Rob?" She asked.

"Well...I..you see...oh fuck it. I love you." He said. He bit his thumb nail and listened to total silence coming from her. "Hello? Are you there?" he asked worried he had frightened her off.

"Yeah, I'm here. Just a little stunned," She said.

"Well I figured I had better tell you since I declared my love for you on the BBC today." Rob told her.

"What?" Lex said loudly.

"Yeah they asked about you and before I could stop myself I told them that I was madly in love with you."

"Oh." Lex replied.

"Yeah." Rob waited to see what else she was going to say. The silence was killing him, he was about to ask her what she thought when she finally answered.

"You know it's probably too soon to say it. But I love you too. I always have but it was different. What I felt for you then was nothing like this."

"Shit, you really know how to build the suspense." Rob said letting out a shakey breath.

"Sorry, I was a bit put off by it all." She said.

"Yeah me too. I think everyone was. I was suppose to answer that question with a standard 'We're close friends'. But I kept thinking, 'Lex deserves more than that'." He told her.

"Well it should please Jon." Lex laughed.

"Your dad called me." Rob said.

"What?" Lex choked.

"He asked if it was true or if I was doing one of my usual jackass stunts." Rob said laughing.

"I'm sorry." She said.

"Nah, don't be. I told him, I had honorable intentions with you and I would never make fun of you in public. But in private, that's a different story.' Rob teased.

"I guess I should call my parents."

"Yeah." Rob answered.

"I really do miss you. I've gotten addicted to you." She said.

"So you need a fix?" He laughed.

"Yes." She replied.

"Ever thought about phone sex?" Rob asked.

"You really are a sexual deviant aren't you?" She asked with a giggle.

"Is that a no?"

"Did I say no?"

"So what are you wearing?" He asked.

Rob trudged down the hall to his hotel room.

"Eleven more days." He said to himself. Eleven more days and he would see Lex. It was killing him to be away from her, talking on the phone was just not enough. He smiled at the thought of the pic she had e-mailed him yesterday. She was wearing a white thong and a matching white bra. She had looked so delicious he had just about cum in his pants. He was getting tired of phone sex he needed to feel Lex's skin again.

"Excuse me Robbie can I have you autograph?" A pretty woman asked him.

"Sure." He took the paper and the pen and signed his usual 'All the breast love Robbie'.

"Thanks so much." She said leaning towards him and flashing a good amount of her tits at him.

"Your welcome." He said continuing on down the hall, not even slightly tempted by her.

Inside his room he found Josie there.

"Look what I've got." She said holding up a magazine. It was the Rolling Stone with the article and photo spread featuring him.

"Shit. Let me see it." He said eagerly taking it from her. On the cover was a pic of him with no shirt on and his cargos hanging dangerously low. He looked good, he had to admit. He flipped through the pages to see what Shannon had written about him. But he stared at the pictures instead, there was one of him bent over the bed, Lex was behind him, she had ner hand in his pocket and the other one was on his thigh. She was supposed to be blurry but she wasn't she was crystal clear and you could plainly see it was her. She looked incredible, there was a smouldering sexual look on her face. He had the cocky grin on his face.

"Oh my God Rob...that picture is amazing." Josie said peering over his shoulder.

"Yeah." Rob could only say, he could feel himself getting hard just from looking at Lex.

"What's the article say?" She asked.

"Oh, I haven't read it yet. Hold on." He said as he began to read the story. It was good, Shannon was obviously a fan of his music. She praised his song writing and his voice. There was a good portion about his past, Take That, addictions and his acheivements as well. Several quotes from the people in his life including Lex.

"I guess I had a bit of a crush on him, he was in Take That and was pretty famous and I wanted his attention." Wilkes'admitted she played several dirty jokes on Williams who was always a gentleman about them. Until recently when he somehow managed to turn Wilkes blue from the neck down.

"He turned me into a fucking smurf." Wilkes recalls with a laugh. The two have mended their feuding ways and Wilkes' is even staying with Williams while she is writing THE PRICE OF LOVE; a comedy she is writing. And the two were even seen together at the launch of Williams' CD."

"Well everyone knows you two are in love now." Josie said with a laugh.

"Yeah, that's all anyone want's to know about." He said with a smile.

"Well, it's been a while since you had a girlfriend. And have you ever publicly said you loved anyone other thank your mum and Jon?" She asked.

"Bono." Rob said with a laugh. Josie laughed too.

"What's Lex going to say about the pics?" She asked.

"I have no clue." Rob said
