Chapter 1
Benji sat on the comfy couch in the living room deep in thought. Thoughts of things that he has been pondering for days. Thoughs like: 'Joel hasn`t been the same lately. He`s not my usual twin that would always get excited over things as little as ice cream. He`s become so emotionless that nobody has been able to make him smile in months. And I miss my old brother, my old twin... My old Joely. I would do anything just to see a smile on his lips again.'
He was snapped out of his thoughts as Joel came stumbling down the stairs looking as if he just woke up. Benji smiled to himself, and stood up to try and find out why Joel has been so down recently.
"Hey." Benji said offering a slight smile as he sat down accross from Joel at the kitchen table. Joel slowly raised his head from his hands but still refused to look his twin. Benji`s smile quickly turned into a frown as he realized Joel had no intention of speaking. "Joel?" Benji questioned. "Joel what's wrong? You haven`t been acting like yourself lately and everyone is beginning to get worried."
Joel shifted his gaze to stare back into the concerning eyes identical to his own. Tears silently started falling at a rapid speed as he stared at Benji, but still not revealing the cause of his behavior.
"Joely," Benji said, as he reached hid hand accross the table to wipe away the tears. However, right as he touched Joel`s face, his brother quickly turns away as if he had just been burned. Benji let out an annoyed sigh. Sure he wanted to help Joel, but its just becoming too much because Joel wont even speak to him.
Without waiting around to hear another one of Benji's "I'm always here for you" speaches, Joel stood up and walked away from Benj, planning on going upstairs to continute his crying that has already started.
Having no patience left, Benji finally lost it and sprinted after Joel who was just about to set foot on the first step leading upstairs. Benji roughly grabbed Joel's shoulders spinning him around, forcing them to see eye to eye. "Joel what the hell is wrong with you? I try so hard day after day to try and get you to talk to me and every fucking chance I get all you do is push me away. You've been acting like this for months and you won't let anyone help you. What the hell could be so bad that you can`t even admit to it, huh?"
Startled by his twins sudden behavior, Joel began to cry even harder as he struggled between Benji`s grip on his upper arms and the wall. "I-I can't.." Joel finally spoke, sounding three times as broken than he looked. "Because..." Joel hesitantly spoke as Benji finally released his hands freeing him from the grip he had.
"Because what Joel? Tell me because i need to know... I have the right to know." Benji firmly spoke regretting his anger towards Joel but hoping that he would still get an answer.
Joel took two steps up the stairs and then turned to face Benji with tears still falling from his sad and confused eyes. "Because I think I've fallen in love with you." Joel choked out in a voice barely above a whisper, then he turned and ran as fast as he could up the steps and into his room. Leaving Benji to hear nothing else but the sound of Joel`s door slamming shut.
