Ville was tired. Completely exhausted. The band had just finished a gruelling world tour where they travelled from place to place so quickly that they often lost track of where they were. He could never sleep well on tour so after months of having three hours sleep a night and an uncomfortable fourteen hour flight, Ville was ready to drop straight into his warm comfy bed with his boyfriend and sleep for three days.
His face lit up when he finally pulled his luggage through the front door of the house they shared, expecting to see his lover waiting to wrap him in his arms and kiss him hello like usually did. Instead, as he turned around to face to him, he found...nothing. The room was sparkling clean but there was no one there.
He couldn't have forgotten that Ville was coming home today could he? They'd just been talking about it the other day. Ville left his things in the lounge and decided to check the kitchen. Both the kitchen and the sining room were the same, spotlessly clean, but empty.
He let out a sigh of disappointment as he headed back towards the lounge but as he passed the stairs, he spotted something on the floor. Bending down to pick it up, he realized that it was a rose petal. He looked around, confused about where it had come from as he hadn't seen any roses in the house. He looked up noticing that there was another petal on the first step. In fact there was a petal on every step.
Ville walked up the stairs, careful not to crush any of the petals under his converse. He reached the landing, grinning at what he saw.
In front of him on the floor lay a rose with petals that were such a dark red that they almost looked black. Rose petals were scattered in two directions, one trail led towards their bedroom and the other led up to the bathroom door and a note had been pinned to the wall, written in his boyfriends familiar writing.
'THIS WAY FIRST BEAUTIFUL.' with an arrow pointing in the direction of the bathroom. He picked up the rose and followed the notes directions. Pushing the bathroom door open, he gasped at the scene in front of him.
The hot tub bath was filled with his favourite bubble bath and the whole room was scattered with rose petals. The lights were off but the light of the many scented candles dotted around gave a beautiful peaceful glow and the soft sounds of one of his favourite classical Finish composers filtered through the hidden speakers in the walls.
As he stood, taking in the scene, a pair of strong arms wrapped around him from behind and a pair of soft lips pressed against the skin just behind his ear.
"Hey baby, welcome home. I knew you'd be tired and stressed so I thought I could try and help you unwind." A gentle voice whispered.
"Oh Bammie, this is so sweet. It's just what I need right now."
"I know." Bam's hands started to undress him, and Ville let him take control, too tired to do anything.
Bam undid Ville's shirt and removed it before helping him out of his pants, boxers and shoes. Taking Ville's hand, he gently pulled him over to the tub. He waited until Ville had gotten in and was submerged in the water, and urged him forward so he could get in behind him.
Ville wiggled backwards as Bam got in the bath so that he was sitting between Bam's legs, his back against Bam's chest.
"Let me just get something from down here." Bam said, reaching down to pick something up off the floor next to the bath. He smiled triumphantly as he revealed a bottle of Ville's favourite wine and two glasses.
"Is this all to make sure that you get laid tonight?!" Ville joked, as Bam poured them both a glass of the wine.
Bam smiled as he handed Ville his glass but when he replied, it was in a rare moment of seriousness that Ville didn't often see.
"No. I don't care about that. I do things like this for you because I love being the person that can make you smile like that." He allowed his fingertips to trace Ville's smiling lips for a moment before pulling his hand away and changing the subject. "You might wanna relax while you can cos the jackass crew are coming round tomorrow."
Ville grinned. Bam wasn't really the soft, romantic type but he knew that Ville loved it so he tried, just to make him happy.
They sat in comfortable silence, sipping their drinks and listening to the soft music until the water started to turn cold and Bam felt Ville beginning to fall asleep against him.
He'd been massaging Ville's aching neck, and he couldn't help but smile as Ville let out an annoyed mewl when he stopped to get the soap and a wash cloth. He gently bathed Ville, making sure not to make any sudden, jolting movements that would startle him. Once he'd finished, he helped Ville out of the tub and started drying him off with a warm towel.
"Bammie, I can do that myself!" Ville giggled.
"I know but you've been working so hard and you've had a long flight that I know you hated so I want to spoil you a little."
"It's all so beautiful Bam, thank you for doing this for me. I thought you'd fofgotten I was coming home today."
"Any time baby. And I could never forget you, I love you too much." Bam smiled, placing a gentle kiss on Ville's lips. They both pulled their jeans back on and Ville bent down to pick up the rest of their laundry.
"Ville, leave that babe. You're tired and it isn't going to go anywhere. I can clean it up tomorrow." He blew out the candles and walked behind Ville as he followed the second trail of rose petals to their bedroom.
As they entered the room, Bam saw Ville's eyes light up as he saw the dozen roses laying in the middle of their huge four poster bed. Bam stayed at the door as Ville went over to the bed, waiting nervously for him to notice what was hidden among the flowers. It didn't take long before he heard the sharp intake of breath that indicated that Ville had found it.
Ville turned around to face his boyfriend, the small black box open in his hand. "Bammie?" His voice came out breathless and confused, adrenaline and hope pumping through his body.
Bam stepped forward until he was standing directly in front of Ville, and swallowed nervously before speaking. "I've had a few relationships in the past and I've never really tried that hard in them. I never really knew why, until I met you and thats when I realized. I didn't love them. I thought I did, but nothing I'd ever felt for anyone even compares to how much I love you."
He stopped to take a deep breath before continuing shakily. "I had no idea that I could even love someone this much, so much that it hurts when you're not here. But I'm willing to cope with that pain because the pain of not having you at all would kill me. I want to be able to love you and to try and make you happy for the rest of our lives if you'll let me. Marry me, Ville."
Ville had started crying at some point during Bam's confession and by the end of it, the tears were falling so fast that he couldn't talk. He felt Bam wiping away his tears with a worried look on his face.
"Ville? It's ok, you don't have..."
"Yes." He managed to interupt.
"What?"
"Yes I'll marry you. I love you so much Bammie." Ville smiled through his tears.
He didn't have a chance to say anything else before he was in his skaters arms, kisses being placed all over his face as Bam clung to him in relief. "I was so scared you were going to say no. I was so terrified that I was moving to fast and I was going to lose you." Bam babbled in between kisses.
Ville pulled himself gently away from him and cupped his face with his hand. "You'll never lose me Bam, I promise you."
Locking eyes with Ville, Bam took the simple silver band out of it's box and placed it gently on Ville's finger. Pulling him in for a deep, sensual kiss, Bam told Ville the same words that he'd had engraved spiraling around the thick band of silver that now adorned Ville's hand.
Ville, you're my love, my life and my world. Always, Bam.
