Loving
Jared groaned when the knock to his door came again. He wasn't due on set for at least two hours. There was this whole part of a show where Dean faces the demon again and it's long and has a lot of blood and fight and Jared is just happy it's not him.
As the knock sounds again, he looks over at his clock. Six in the morning and he's going to have to kill someone.
He rolls out of bed and stumbles to the door, ignoring his stomach telling him he's up way too early for it to stay settled.
He opens the door and squints in the light from the hallway. "What?"
At the loud sigh, he opens his eyes a bit wider and sees one of the production assistants standing there. "Do you always just open your door for anyone?"
"I thought we all stayed in the same complex so we could just open our doors to anyone..."
She rolled her eyes. "Look, we can't find Jensen."
That woke Jared up. If it was six then Jensen should have been on set an hour ago and for all the goofy party boy rumors, Jensen was always a professional. "Alright. Give me a minute."
He grabbed a sweatshirt and pulled on his jeans. Pulling on boots annoyed him and he just tucked the laces in, worry etching his features as he walked out to the hallway. He cursed and ran back in one more time to grab his keys, making sure there was one specific one still on his keychain.
He told the assistant to search the trailers where they spent so much time in wardrobe and makeup.
"We've checked there."
"Check again."
He reached into his jeans pocket, glad he brought his cell, but not wanting to scare Jensen away by calling him first. Okay, obviously it finally happened...shit.
There was only one thing that could upset Jensen enough to send him into hiding and that was his girlfriend breaking it off with him. Jared blamed himself. He was the one who caught her making out with one of the guys from their last shoot. He told her that he'd tell Jensen if she didn't and she'd told him off and then gone with Jensen.
Shit...I shouldn't have forced her to do that. It only hurt Jen.
He made his way to the one room that wasn't being used for anything except storage and opened the always unlocked door. It was the one place Jensen and he shared for times when they needed to get away. Jared was the only one who used it, though.
Until now.
As soon as he opened the door he could smell the slight tang of Jensen's cologne. Musky and intoxicating, it pulled him to the bedroom of the suite, never used because it supposedly had a broken lock on the door.
Jared wondered what production would say if they knew he'd just had the standard locks replaced with ones he and Jensen had the key to.
He put the key in the lock and opened the door. He frowned when he saw Jensen sitting on the futon mattress in the corner that Jared had smuggled in, using the excuse that his girlfriend tossed and turned and needed her own bed sometimes.
Jensen looked up, his eyes red-rimmed and not from alcohol.
"Jen? Buddy, you alright?"
He shrugged. "I'm in desperate need of some loving."
Jared nodded and sat down. "Want to tell me what's going on?"
"Don't. She told me you knew."
"Yeah...yeah, I know. I guess you're gonna deck me now, but I did it because-"
"I'm not gonna hit you. I should be thanking you. She told me the truth. I mean in this day and age, I need to know if someone I want to sleep with is...sleeping with someone else."
"Wait." Jared put his hand to his face, trying to understand. "She told you she was sleeping with someone else?"
"Half the crew."
"Fuck...I only saw her making out with one guy."
"She was trying to get to someone who could make her famous. I guess I wasn't calling in enough favors or something."
Jared placed his hand on Jensen's shoulder. "Hey man...that's not on you, okay? This is her fault."
"Maybe."
"What do you mean maybe?"
"I mean...what is it about me? Even the characters I fucking play get left. It's just who I am."
"That's not true, Jen. Shit...you seriously don't see how great you are?"
"No, Jare. Can't say as I do."
Jared cupped Jensen's cheek and pulled him close. "You're...you're a bit scary."
"Scary? That's supposed to make me feel better?"
Jared pulled him closer until their breath was mingling. "Yeah, it's scary because you're so good and so perfect and...rejection from someone like you would be a twisted knife in the gut."
"I never rejected her." His breathing became labored as he wondered if Jared was conscious of what he was doing to him with his nearness.
"Maybe you would have...if something better came along." His breath whispered over Jensen's face enough for his eyelids to flutter closed. He ghosted a kiss over each lid.
"Something better? I still would have been-"
"Loyal." Jared groaned the word. "God, Jensen...don't reject me." His lips came down hard on his co-star's and his other hand came up to hold his head in place.
Of course, Jared hadn't needed to bother. Jensen was eagerly leaning into the kiss, needing Jared as much as he'd needed anything else in a long time.
Parting, Jared tried to catch his breath. "Hold on..." He dragged his cell phone from his pocket and dialed. "Hello? I found Jensen....Yeah....Yeah, he isn't well. He was in his room....Yeah, I know he didn't answer his door. He was bent over the toilet. He tried to crawl to the door, but your girl left before he could open it. Luckily he hadn't moved back to the bathroom when I tried....what? No. No doctor. He's already feeling a bit better. Throwing up helped. Yeah....Yeah, I'm going to stay with him. You get stuff set up for the next scene and...oh. Two hours?...That intense, huh? Um...Yeah, he'll be good by then. Go ahead. We'll be there. Bye." He hung up and smiled at Jensen.
"Think I can satisfy that desperation for you in two hours?"
Jensen smiled and leaned his head on Jared's shoulder. "Well, I guess if you don't we'll just have to tell them I was contagious and you're bedridden, too."
Jared licked his lips and pushed Jensen down to the mattress, easing off his clothes. "Sounds like a plan..."
