Unabated Understatement Of The Century-RYAN ROSS

I love the way he makes me laugh when he's around.
The way everytime our hands brush, butterflies burst through my stomache.
And the way everytime he smiles, it brights up a room.
However, I do not like the way he doesn't know.
The way he's so oblivious to my feelings.
And how every day I wonder if I should tell him.
George Ryan Ross, you are a heartbreaker without even knowing it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I stand outside pulling the petals from a rose I picked from my backyard, absentmindedly scoping the streets.
"My brother should be home soon." I sigh, throwing the rose down and turning to Alex, the only person that knows about the Ryanthing
"You just want to see Ryan."
"You just want to see Brendon."
"I don't have a crush on your brother, thanks." He smiles fakely and points to the two boys walking towards us from down the street.
That would be Brendon: The hardcore brother extrordanaire.
And Ryan: The heart breaker without even knowing it superstar.
"Well, if it isn't my little sister." Brendon scoffs, kicking me in the shin. "Get off the front porch, mom says you look like a bum."
I glared moodily at him.
He rolls his eyes and Alex follows him inside.
Some friend.
I sigh, and it's Ryan's turn to walk past me without even saying anything.
It's not like we're even friends or anything, I just see him at school and whenever Brendon brings him over, which is almost every day.
Some days he says hi. Some days he acts like were best friends. And some days he acts like i`m just his best friends older sister, which I am.
I`m exactly one year older than Brendon, and the same age as Ryan.
I scratch at the wooden steps for a few more moments until I hear a tapping on the window and decide to go inside.
"What do you want, Ross?" I ask, glaring at him.
"Well, I was gonna ask for a huggle, but not with that death ray of a glare."
I fake pout.
"Okay, Ryan, be that way, see if I ever love you again."
He nods and I walk out of the living room to the upstairs, searching for Alex, when I find him in my room, going through one of my drawers.
"Other one." I sigh, sitting down on my bed.
He looks at me confused, then opens the drawer on the left and lets out a sigh of relief, pulling a stick of eyeliner out.
"Thanks, you're a life saver."
"You're wasting your time."
"What are you talking about?" He asks, turning around.
"Brendon is straight, you know that."
"So? A boy can dream. Besides, you don't see me rubbing it in your face Ryan will never get in your pants simply because you're not his type."
"What's his type?"
"You know, pretty girls."
I choked back a tear.
He turns around and the smile drops from his face.
"Get out." I grunt.
"I didn't mean it like that."
"Get out of my room before I throw you out."
He walks out and I slam the door behind him, glaring at my reflection in the mirror.
I hate it.
I hate the way my hair doesn't look good when it's straightened.
I hate the way my body curves at odd angles with my bone structure.
I hate the way my fingers are long and skinny.
Before bursting into tears, I pick up a picture frame and shatter the mirror with it.
"There." I whisper to myself. "I never have to dissapoint myself again."

"What was that I heard breaking?" Brendon asked, the moment my foot landed on the last step.
"I accidently broke my mirror."
"You accidently did it?"
"Yes, that's what I said, are you deaf?"
"Why did you do it?"
"Because Alex sa-...It was an accident, okay?"
Brendon stared at me for a moment, then softened his expression.
"You know, Missa, if there's anything you ever need to talk about, I`m here."
"Not for this." I spat, walking past him into the kitchen, but he followed me.
"Why do you have to be like that?' He yelled.
"Be like what?"
"Act like no one cares and you're the only person in this damn world! Melissa, you know i`m you're brother and i`m willing to help you with anything, but I can't if you don't tell me!"
"You couldn't help my if you tried." I said, barely above a whisper.
He threw his hands up in frustration and walked out of the room.
"I don't get you!" He yelled from the living room.
I stuck my head out of the kitchen doorway.
"Newsflash Brendon. I don't get myself
