So Much For Sanity
One
It was ten thirty and Ray still wasn't home. Ray was always home by then! It was really starting to worry Gerard. He started thinking, what if Ray got hurt? Or even killed? No, Gerard wouldn't be able to take it if his boyfriend got hurt or killed.
His mind raced as fast as his heart, which was pumping a mile a minute. Where was Ray? Gerard wanted to tell himself he was just dreaming, but he knew inside he wasn't.
"I'm worrying myself over nothing!" Gerard rolled his eyes. As if on cue the door swung open.
Gerard jumped, not knowing who - or what - it could be. His eyes shot over to the open door and he saw that it was Ray.
"Ray! You're finally home! Where have you been? I was so worried!" Gerard threw his arms around his boyfriend, happy to see him safe.
"Jeez, Gerard," Ray coldly pushed Gerard off of him, "It's only ten!" he slammed the door shut, knocking the clock off the wall.
Gerard jumped and his eyes shot to the broken - rather shattered - clock. "What's wrong?" he asked Ray.
Ray didn't reply. He just grunted and started off to the kitchen. Gerard followed him.
"Ray," Gerard repeated. "Ray please tell me what's wrong..."
Ray angrilly turned around and backhanded Gerard across the face. "Nothing! Ok! Nothing is wrong! I'm fine!" he yelled.
Gerard's face burned with stinging pain from the smack. His eyes filled with tears. Why would Ray hit him? What did he do? All he wanted to know was what was wrong.
"I figured you'd know I'm fine! It's only ten o' clock!" Ray snapped while heading upstairs.
Gerard sat down in a kitchen chair. "It's ten thirty..." he mumbled to himself. He was still a little shaken by the surprise of Ray's violence. Nothing seemed different in his appearence.
But then, he swore he could smell faint alcohol. He had to think for a moment. Ray? Alcohol? Ray didn't drink! Did he?

The next morning, Gerard woke up in Ray's arms. He could hear sniffling and he knew Ray was crying. Crying? He wanted to know why.
Gerard groaned. His head was pounding. He passed out the previous night. After Ray had hit him. Wait that's why Ray was crying!
"Gee? G-Gerard? Are you ok?" Ray asked with heavy sorrow in his voice.
"Yea..." Gerard replied, slightly annoyed.
Ray turned Gerard to where he was lying on his back. Gerard could see real tears of sadness in the man's eyes. He could tell Ray was pretty messed up. "I...I didn't...I didn't mean to hit you!" he pulled Gerard close to him in his arms.
"Ray, it's ok.." Gerard said, wrapping his arms around Ray, "It's not like you beat the hell out of me or anything."
"I was drunk, Gee, I really didn't mean to."
"I know I know."
"But what if I do beat the hell out of you one day?!" Ray asked frantically. Gerard shrugged, thinking. What if he did?
But Gerard just shook his head, "You won't. Never. I know you Ray you wouldn't ever do that to me."
"What if I'm drunk, though?!" Ray asked.
Gerard smiled a little and stroked the side of Ray's face with his fingertip. "You're so pessimisstic."
"Like you can be talking!" Ray laughed in reply.
"That's the Ray I know and love." with that, Gerard leaned up and kissed Ray softly.
How could Gerard be so ok after the previous night? He didn't even know.
