Forever Yours
Chapter One: Deep Thought
It was a Thursday night when it happened. Thursday, July 12, at eleven-fourty-five PM. The moon was high in the sky, the stars were twinkling against the blanket of the night. Mikey and I were stretched out on the cool grass, looking up at the endless night sky. Well..I was looking up at it. When I turned my head to say something to Mikey, I saw that he was looking right at me. I felt myself blush and wondered how long he'd been staring at me. He smiled, "What?" I shook my head. He looked so cute with his little dimples that came with his adorable grin.
I returned my gaze to the sky, eyeing one brightly twinkling star, a little ways away from the moon. Well..a little to me. Probably miles from the moon, even though it seemed like a few inches. Its bright twinkling amazed me for some reason, and I didn't even notice Mikey until he was right on top of me..litterally.
"What are you doing?" I asked with a chuckle. He just laid his head on my shoulder and started drumming his fingers on my chest. I knew that when he drummed his fingers on anything, he was in deep, deep thought. I brought my hand up to play with his hair. "What are you thinking about, Mikey?" I asked.
"Hmm?" He stopped drumming his fingers. "Nothing..just...it's getting near midnight." He muttered.
I quirked an eyebrow, "What's wrong with that? And..how did you know? There's no clock out here."
He didn't reply right away. In fact, it was anything but right away. There were at least two minutes of dead silence before he finally answered me.
He shrugged, "I can just tell. See," he pointed to the moon, which was almost in the middle of the sky. "You can tell it's almost 12." I nodded.
"But what's wrong with midnight?" I asked. He'd never had a problem with midnight before. He shook his head.
"It's a long story Gee. And you'd never believe me anyway." He said. I felt the least bit hurt. He knew I trusted him.
"Of course I'd believe you, Mikey. And hell, I've got all the time I want right now, just tell me. You've got me curious now."
"Gerard..." Mikey whined. He looked at me for a minute, then sighed. "You're not going to give up. So I might as well tell you." He climbed off of me and sat cross-legged next to me. I sat up and turned my body to face him. "Ok...just to let you know, it's really kind of confusing, so if you don't understand something, tell me."
I nodded, "You know me. I unravel every problem in a mystery movie in the first fourty minutes."
"Alright." He took a deep breath. "I'm a vampire, Gee. I have been for three and a half years. I would have told you sooner, but I didn't know how I would." He paused, biting his lip, thinking, I suppose, "But anyway...every year, on Friday the 13th, I have to turn a mortal into a vampire." That explained why every year on Friday the 13th he wouldn't come home until late. "Every vampire in my clan is assigned a different day to turn someone into one of us. Mine is Friday the 13th. And guess what day it'll be in.." he looked up at the sky, "Ten minutes."
I gulped. "Friday the 13th." I was starting to plug things in, but my mind wouldn't allow me to accept any of the answers. He nodded,
"Correct. And although we vampires have incredible speed, I don't think I could get anywhere in ten..no, eight minutes." I knew where this conversation was going. I stood up and started backing up. He smiled just the tiniest bit, and was gone in an instant. I jumped and looked around, not seeing Mikey anywhere.
But then someone grabbed my hips from behind. "Going somewhere, Gerard?" I gasped and turned around to see Mikey standing there. How did he get there so fast?? I wondered. He giggled, "I told you vampires have incredible speed." He grasped my hips and pulled me close to him. Any smart human being would have pushed him off, but I was too in love with him to do that. All I could do was stare into his beautiful eyes. He leaned in, to where his lips were a centimeter away from mine. I could feel his warm breath against my lips. I was about to break the gap and kiss him, but he beat me to it, pressing his lips to mine for a mere second before disappearing.
Damn that kid.. I thought, looking around again. He appeared behind me again, his lips next to my ear. "How would you like it, Gee?" he asked in a whisper, turning me around to face him. "How would you like eternal life, ever lasting beauty, and endless power?" He asked, leaning in closer to me again.
"Th..that would be.."
"Wonderful..right?" He practically finished my sentence. I nodded. "If you were a vampire....you could have that." I started to get interested. He smiled and looked up at the sky. "Four minutes from now..you could have eternal life...you could live forever beautiful, forever powerful," He paused, "Forever mine."
"Forever yours? What do you mean?" I asked, quirking an eyebrow. He laughed a sexy laugh that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and kissed my lips again softly.
"Being a vampire has one little catch. Until you turn someone into a vampire yourself, you belong to the one that turned you immortal. So if I turned you into one of us in two minutes, you'd be mine."
"But technically I wouldn't be forever yours." I said. My heart slumped. I wanted to be forever Mikey's.
He laughed again, "Not unless you want to be, big brother."
"What do you mean by that?" I asked. He looked into my eyes.
"I may be a vampire but I have emotions. I love you, Gee. I love you with all of my heart, and I want you to be mine. Forever." He stroked the side of my face. "Would you be forever mine?"
I didn't hesitate to nod and say, "Of course. I..I love you too." I couldn't believe this was happening. I never would have thought Mikey would love me the way I loved him. He looked up at the moon again.
"It's time." Mikey looked back into my eyes. I could tell what he was asking, just by looking at him. I nodded, telling him I was completely positive about this. Not that I have a choice. I thought. He brought his lips down to my neck and sunk his sharp fangs into my skin. I gasped and dug my nails into his back as he sucked the blood from my veins. It hurt like a bitch, but at the same time, it felt good. It felt good having Mikey's lips against my neck, and his arms around my waist, despite the fact he was turning me into a creature of the night.
Forever beautiful, forever powerful, forever mine.
Maybe being a vampire wouldn't be so bad.
