Glitter!

“What is that on your face?” Bam wrinkled his nose. Ville grinned and tossed his hair, a shower of glitter falling at his feet.

“Doesn’t it look great?

“You look like you dived into a kindergarten art room.” Bam shook his head. “God, it’s just a sparkly nightmare.”

“It is not.” Ville pouted, crossing his arms over his chest. “I look smashing, and you know it.”

“Oh, you look like you smashed into something all right. Like a Hello Kitty factory.” It was a weak joke, but the sight of his boyfriend covered in a sheen of glitter almost turned his brain off.

It was in his hair. It was on his cheeks. It was on his eyelids. It was everywhere. He was just smeared in it. Bam shook his head again and stood up.

“I like it.”

“Whatever peels your potatoes, I guess.” He mumbled as he went to go to the kitchen. Ville just sighed.

He had been hoping that seeing him all sparkly would inspire Bam. No such luck. It was a pity too, because Ville just knew that his boyfriend would look amazing with a little sparkle in him.

What to do? His ploy hadn’t worked. There had to be something. The Finn chewed on his lower lip thoughtfully. What could he possibly do that would make this work?

An evil thought formed in his mind.

Bam stirred. He’d been having the strangest dream where someone was brushing something over his face, again and again. As he slowly drifted towards the surface of wakefulness, he was aware of the fact that his scalp was itching.

He yawned and touched his face. What the hell?!? What was all… Weird feeling? He heard a hurried scuffling at the side of his bed and opened his eyes. There was Ville Valo standing rather guilty looking. In his hands he was holding what looked like a tube full of…

“GLITTER? Oh, GOD!” Bam moaned. “Am I covered in glitter?”

“Well, covered is a bit of an exaggeration.” Ville muttered sheepishly. Bam threw back the covers and pushed his lover aside as he ran into the bathroom to look at himself in the mirror.

“OH MY GOD!” he cried. “What did you do to me? I look like a twelve year old ballerina!”

“You do not. You have facial hair.” Ville tried to soothe the distraught skater. Bam howled and touched his precious goatee, now delightfully full of glitter.

“Does this stuff come out?” he demanded.

“Normally,” Ville said in a small voice, looking down at the floor. There was a beat of silence while Bam tried not to leap across the room and strangle the man he loved.

“What do you mean, normally?”

“I mean that I knew that you were going to want to wash it right out, so I mixed it with um… some Elmer’s glue.”

“I can’t peel it off!” Bam cried. Ville sighed.

“It might have been slightly stronger than Elmer’s glue.” He confessed, shuffling his feet. Bam just gaped at his lover. He closed his eyes and willed this to all be a dream. When he opened them again, he was going to be in his bed, just waking up. Ville would be curled close to him.

No such luck.

“Ville,” Bam said through clenched teeth. “Do you know what today is?”

“Thursday?” his lover asked, childlike.

“Yes,” Bam conceded. “It is also the day that I have a demo.” He glanced at the clock. “And I have to be there in FIFTEEN MINUTES!” the singer
must have turned off the alarm in order to do his dirty work.

“Oh,” Ville covered his mouth. Bam
sighed. He rushed back into the bedroom, hurriedly pulled his clothes on.

“So I have to go looking like a magic fairy princess. Fucking grand.” He muttered. “I can always blame it on Raab. Yeah, I’ll say he did it in my sleep. That’ll get everyone good and riled against him. I’ll just do that.”

Ville watched as his lover hopped into socks and then ran out the door. He sat down hard on the bed. Bam was mad at him, that was for sure.

But…

He did look cute in the glitter.
