Prologue
His head hit the wall following his back. At least he hadn’t heard a loud crack, so he could be sure his skull wasn’t broken. Still the pain was almost enough to knock him out completely.
His vision went blurry, so he could only make out the silhouette of the person approaching him. He wanted to speak but his tongue felt as heavy as an unmovable piece of lead. Finally, after some struggling, he managed to whisper, “I’m sorry.”
“I know”, was the only answer he received before he felt strong arms lifting him up and he was carried away. He struggled desperately not to faint but after some time blackness swallowed him.
