CHAPTER 1= THE KIDS' TIMES
In a park in Belleville, New Jersey, sounds of the happy laughter of young children wafted in the air. Nine happy young children---the very best of friends played in the park: Gerard Way, Cayden Kingsley, Mikey Way, Frank Iero, Ray Toro, Bob Bryar, Whitney Carlyle, Carla Kendrew and Adelaide Wright, are all close friends to each other, and family friends and neighbors to each other. They were then about 9 or 10.
While Cayden was on the swing set, having fun on one of the swings, she noticed Gerard standing a few feet away by a pole, looking at her intently. She halted to a stop, and got off the swing, and ran toward him, he smiled happily. He took her hand in his.
“Are you okay?” Cayden asked, smiling at him.
Gerard nodded, still smiling.
“Yeah…I’m fine. I like smiling at you, because I like you a lot. You are my best ever friend!” Gerard replied.
Cayden smiled wider.
“Aww…Gerard, I like you too, a lot! You are my best friend!” Cayden said.
He then gave her a tight bear hug.
“I love you, Cay…” Gerard stated.
“I love you too, Gee…” Cayden stated back.
After they break off the hug, he decided to take her over to his place.
“Come on, Cay…let’s come over to my house. My mom will have already laid out food for us. Come on…” Gerard said.
With that, Gerard then tugged her out of the park, and took her over to his house.
