“I. Can’t.”
Paul rubbed his forehead, his irritation building, and he didn’t even try to hide it.
“You have, to, Alice, you have no choice.” Paul sighed, leaning back against the dressing room mirror. “You know better then that.”
“I don’t care.”
“What the hell were you doing last night that made you so damn tired today?”
Alice unconsciously glanced at the costume rack next to Paul. There, amidst the décor, gauze, and glitter, was something very, very out of place. Something Alice never used in any of his numbers. A wide-brimmed fedora.
“Guess I just had a rough night.” Alice said, shakily taking another sip of his coffee.
