Chapter1- Preface (Nick’s POV)
“And in others news Mr. Ray Night has been elected to be the new Ambassador to Japan.”
I sat there staring at the screen. My family jumping up and down, so happy for my dad. I couldn’t do it. I am happy for my dad but this new job meant that we had to move to Japan. which means that I’m not going to be able to hang out with my friends any more. I won’t be able to see the love of my life Luke Start.
“Nic-Nic are you not happy for pop?” My little sister Katie, such a sweetie asked me. It was than I notice that they were all looking at me. I faked a smile and laughed. “Of course I am. Way to go dad.” He looked at me for a bit. I think he knows that I'm happy. After a while he nodes his head and tells us to go to bed. Since we start packing tomorrow and telling all our good-byes.
I tried to go to sleep. I really did but unlike my sisters and brothers I wasn’t happy to go. It meant leaving everyone behind. Manly Luke. I put my hand up to my face only to pull it back once I felt the wetness. I Nick Lighting Night,17 years old, was crying like a new born baby but without the sound. The last thought I had before I fell into a restless sleep was how am I going to tell Luke.
Next Week
I sat on the swing of the park near my house. We were leaving in a few hours and I had finally decided to tell Luke. Yeah I know it was bad to wait as long as I did, but his sister was sick and I knew he was taking care of her. I didn’t want him to be sad while she was in need of looking after.
“Hey what so important I had to come all the way here? Is everything ok?” I looked up slowly I want to remember his voice in case I never saw him again. “Everything ok. I just wanted to tell you I leaving. You already know that my dad is the new ambassador so the whole family is going to Japan. We leave in a couple of hours. I know I should of told you early but you had to take care of your little sister and I didn’t want to put more stress on you.”
It was quite for awhile when all of a suddenly I was pulled up and into a warm hug. I don’t like it, I don’t like it that you didn’t tell me earlier, but I’ll tell with it. You just have to promise me one thing. You won’t full in love with any body else.”
My head shot up at his words. “Luke nobody will be able to replace you. You are the love of my life, I promise you I won’t go be with anybody else. I told you once YOU are the person that is going to be my FIRST. I love you.”
We kissed and just held each other till it was time to go. He came with us to the airport to see us off. I asked him to tell all of my friends about what happen. I didn’t have the never to tell them to their faces.
As we were taken off my last thought was I will never full in love with anybody that isn’t you Luke. I promise.
Little did I know that promise was the one I couldn’t keep.
